Why does BMW Z8 spring to mind everytime I see the side profile or backend of this car? Is it the neon looking rear lights? The short back?

What ever it is, one thing I am sure about is that the gull wing doors cheapen the car by a lot. Its more of a gimmick than a serious $200k+ car now. That shot of the car early in the clip just proves it. They should have done nomal opening doors or if they really had to be different, then copy the type of opening on the Mclaren SLR.

You need to be a proper fan with too much cash to bother with this one and such people wont be the ones you see doing 200 at night on the roads. This is more for pulling up outside a casino with Angelia Jolie. Top speed in such cars is utterly irrelevant.

In my country its the same. Because were taxed on all kinds of shit like car weight, engine size, output, emissions, all environmental stuff. And american cars score badly on all the above. So a Mustang which may be a cheap way to get a big V8 in USA ends up costing the same as a Porsche in my country. Or a 10 years old Ferrari. And you need to be really into Mustangs to pick one over a F360. A Corvette ends up same price as a Gallardo. There is simply no reason to choose american.

For all those guys who say that this looks like an SLR. THIS is one completly new developed car and therefor includes platform and engine. The SLR was a strange coproduction between Mercedes and the british McLaren. The SLS ist from the German AMG-company only.

I love the ZR-1 as it's one of my favorite cars, but admit it lacks the multipurpose function of a luxurious Mercedes. Style, comfort, and performance. You're just getting ultimate performance, which is great, but after a long day...I'd rather cruise home without so much. So I say...it's luxury crazy performance vs The ultimate performer. I'm no track star so SLS for me.

This is in a whole differeant catagory this is more inline with Mazarati one of the best out there in performance but still a luxuary car.

ZR1 is uncompermised performance nothing more nothing less I'll bet the ZR1 is much harsher than this for that very reason.

But then again if I had that much money to throw around I'd get the zr1 for when I actually wanted to drive fast and something else to drive daily
