The japanese use some english in places. Notice that the names of the roles are in English as well?

can you not get different weapons in this game? like in all the clips i've seen snow only uses his fists, can he not use weapons and lightning just looks like she can only have the same type of sword

No you can buy new weapons from the save point,but snow can only use fists en lightning can only use a sword

Everyone has his own weapon just like each Final Fantasy

Not like each FF neccesarily, but about half of them.

Lightning can get dfferent looking swords, yes, but the reason Snow never seems to change is because his "weapon" is actually the design on the back of his coat.
