It's true that in America one can still feel comfortable being an Atheist, however I feel if believers are left to be the only public figures, political or not, it will soon be as he described first about being an atheist in England. Maybe it's because I'm from a small town, I'm young, and have much to experience. It's not as if I'm not comfortable sharing my non-belief, it just seems pointless it the face of such blatant craziness sometimes.
to me, you were sitting with demonically influenced at that bar, especially the guy in the black suit and the woman who referenced the "God" song. How fitting they were at a bar named after a demon. There are no coincidences to me. God bless you though. I hope you don't let your disbelief become antichristian. You are right however, about the church being used by non believers for oppression reasons.
@muzapstar So you find it tolerable for them to burn for eternity because they do not believe, no matter how good their lives are or what good deeds they have done? However, if say, Charles Manson were to repent, you would feel he deserves to go to heaven? I am happy not to believe in an ideology so irrational and closed-minded. Have fun sitting next to Adolf Hitler or John Wayne Gacy at the dinner table in heaven, as long as they repented!!
Please, if its possible commit to reading “At Least” one chapter a day.(if you don’t already) If you made that decision please email me at [achapteradaykeepsthedevilaway@gmail.com] just saying that you decided to read one chapter a day in the Bible.
"A very thin form of life that didn't have these images"
That is extremely insulting. A beautiful painting is not made any less beautiful if it's painter is a skeptic, music is no less moving if it is composed by a nonbeliever.
It is a mostly decent documentery but this man has time and time again shown himself swayed by primarily christian propaganda, his opening line denied over half of all atheist by saying that atheist are people who strongly hold the conviction that there is no "GOD".
@Atheistx82 He's saying that humanity would lack imagination if we couldn't make stuff like that up in our minds.
He is not saying that secular art is lesser than devotional art, just that the human imagination is a wonderful thing and we would be an impoverished race without it.
Ah well in that context, it is very different from what I took from it. I had taken the insinuation that without religion there would not be good art. If he meant what you take from it, I whole heartedly agree. I love fantasy art.
Think about what would had happened to Bush "i am a cruel massmurderer" senior ,if he had said that about christians. He would be shot within 1 month.
It worries me that when something odd happens and we cannot explain it, the first thing we think of is something supernatural. I just watched some Monster Quest episodes,(which are entertaining but usually find nothing) and people everywhere AUTOMATICALLY associate something strange with the supernatural. This implies that we have something built into the brain which makes us believe in the more miraculous answer rather than a scientific one. This must be countered with education and curiosity.
Most of us havent been to Harvard and dont have a PhD in science or physics, so we cant all formulate scientific answers for strange phenomena. I think your right in saying that we are more inclined to believe in supernatural things. I dont think see any benefit in correcting people that believe in the supernatural (unless it is for medical purposes). Thats like teaching kids in school that ghosts arent real. Personally, I dont believe in ghosts...But I would NOT attend a class like that !
You don't need a PhD in physics from Harvard to think rationally and scientifically. Children should absolutely be taught critical thinking (that doesn't mean they need a whole class specifically on why ghosts are imaginary).

My disbelief is wholly anti-christian, Islam, Judaism and every other violent ant-humanist cult out there...

Oh my goodness. His analysis of the Middle East and Anglican practises in England from 2:10 to 3:28 is so hilariously accurate! lol
