what the hell, this series is real,.... wow i never thought they made one, the first live action one i ever seen was wither at the mall sometimes and when the first movie came out, i knew they made a flash series but never this, cool
Guys, against all the people thinking this is hawful, we were in 70's, computer graphic effect didn't exist, for me it's simply perfect!!! and makes me remember my chidhood, i'm27 now, regards from Bologna, Italy.
Ahem...actually i don't even like the Dirk Diggler haircut. Its true everyone had to start somewhere, and we owe it to pioneers like this for paving the way...but apart from formalities this sucks!
I think it cute that the youngsters don't realize how long Spidey been around. I'm 35 and he's was around more that a decade before I was born, lol. The good heroes never die. And FYI to the babies, almost all of the Marvel characters have been around for decades, including one you see in the new movies like the Hulk, the Xmen and even Blade. I urge you to visit a comic store and grab some prints. Lot of back stories that would make you all even bigger fans. :)
Why the hell is JJJ dressed as Spider-Man?! He hates Spider-Man!!!!! And why the fuck in the pilot is there no Uncle Ben? I know they were trying to stay away from the comics but Uncle Ben's death is integral to Peter's motivation to fight crime. In this show, he just....... does it, and it takes the essence away. He didn't even say the famous line: With great power comes great responsibility.
its because in THIS spiderman, Peter Parker is old enough to BE Uncle Ben! Im from that era, and i usually love the oldies. but i can't vouch for this one...
This is the way Spider-Man's costume is supposed to look: Like a teenager made it himself out of stretchable fabric. That's the way it is in the original comic book. The costume in the movie looks ridiculous and impractical with all those glued on rubber webs and silk-screened muscles. It took a team of designers to make it and costs a quarter of a million dollars. How is that "realistic". THIS show was realistic and true to the look of the comic book.
@spideyhaswebshooters Yeah, they thought it was "unrealistic" for peter to build his own webshooters, but he can make that super fancy costume. So stupid. Nick Hammond was a way better Spidey, than tobey mcwhatzits too. at least he didn't play the part like a weepy twelve year old girl...
@spideyhaswebshooters ur talking about realism really?..... so is it realistic for u to get bitten by a spider and u get special powers from it, and not to mention the villians. its a superhero its not supposed to be realistic(except batman and the punisher). the costume is only like that because they didnt have the tech to make something cooler
I was about 6 in 1978, and I first noticed Nicholas Hammond when I was 5 and have liked him ever since. To me, he IS Spidey. Can you believe Nicholas is 58 now?
Why doesn't Best Buy, Blockbuster video, and Amazon release this show on DVD? Screw the big money market, you have a small loyal fan base. Cut the shit and get this show out on DVD before 2027 the fiftieth anniverasary of the show.
Are you kidding me? Morgan Fairchild still looks the same if not better! She's been in so many shows - especially playing Chandler's mom on Friends! ??
Maybe it's because he stared in two movies that Mystery Science Theatre 3000 spoofed. He played JC in "Sidehackers", and the deputy in "It Lives by Night"
it's funny we see him with the cufff links and how ironical when Ben Reily dons the costume he was sporting cufff links too in the comics!

@poingsdefureur Kick ass clearly took alot of inspiration from spider-man. They hint at it by referencing him like 5 times in the first 15 minutes.

Without actually watching this episode, the title "Night of the Clones" brought me back to the Clone Saga of the 90s Spider-Man comics...yuck.

This episode was the most like the costume, what with Aunt May and clones haha, though I think most comic fans wanna forget about clones.

@trx450r38 But, it still looks more like the costume from the comic book than the one used on the recent movies directed by Sam Rami.

I can't believe he's that old. I had a huge crush on him when this series came out. I was only about 8 or 9. I watched the series because of him. lol
I also knew he was in the Sound of Music, but wasn't able to confirm it until now!
I wonder what Nicholas Hammond is doing now.??
