@airsquadron654 ya pretty much. that is something i have been asking them to do for a long time. in cod3 there was a melee but you hit the guy with your gun and it was a two hit kill (with full health). That was pretty epic and i wish they would bring that back. either that or make flak jacket immune to knifing as well. that would nerf ghost as well.

thats weird cause he didn't even lounge at all, Thats weird and he was probably proud of that kill too...and everybody saying it lag, its not. before I upgraded my internet I always played on a 1 or 2 bar if I was lucky and the knife wasn't even an option, if I knifed: on my screen it showed I would lounge but on his screen I'd be standing still and he'd kill me. Lag doesn't help the user at all. My shots wouldn't register and I'm half a second behind everybody. How does that help me?

i think the best way to repair it is to put it loike halo that if you melee anywere but the back its 2 knifes 2 kill and 1 to the back but i plus if they hit from the front they cant heal past half of there health because of the wound they sustained i think thats all they can really do now to save COD in knifing terms

What the guys who are making the next Cod should simply do is make the knife a secondary weapon to revent panic knifera and then give the knife a decent lunge (Maybe to the standard of MW2's lunge, without commando that is) The only guys who will use it are new guys who just unlocked it and the few knife only guys out there!

@PyjamaBoy93 No, I must actually disagree. Knives do need lunge, and should still be a 1-hit-KO, because if you slit someone's throat, they WILL die. It only takes one hit to do that, not two. However, make it a huge animation scheme, like Bad Company 2 or Killzone 3. It looks cooler, is balanced, and is more satisfactory.

I actually can't say too much about Killzone 3, since I don't have it yet, but from what I can tell, like Bad Company 2, the knife is an animation where you can see the knifer take his time to estimate where the vital points are, and goes for them. In all my time playing BC2, unless it was a graphics glitch, the knife only killed at the back, neck, or face, which is fair and realistic.

battlefield's melee system works fine. But you are hardly ever at melee range.

I don't think call of duty, and its fast paced nature would be able to incorperate a 1-2 second knife animation.

@PyjamaBoy93 You're right. But going off of that, there is no real possible way to fix this knifing system, because a 2-hit-kill is just retarded. I would know, Soldier Front (the game on my channel) has a 2-3 hit knife, and nobody ever uses it. So CoD is seriously beyond repair.

Besides, isn't it possible that if this wasn't the case, and the original suggestions were incorporated, wouldn't we just be complaining about the alternative anyways? They might as well not even have a melee system.

a melee isn't really essential, and should not be more powerful that the weapons themselves.

@GHO5T932 Infinity Ward tried that in previous Call of Duty games, like from Call of Duty 1 through Call of Duty 3, and it never worked. It either missed all the time or it never did ANY damage. It was such a good idea, but I think the gaming engines used in CoD games can't read the gun-melee scripting correctly, where as the scripting was perfected in the Halo engine, so that's why it works in Halo games.

That was because it was classed as a primary weapon and had the be equipped before being used.
