  • I got bit last summer by one of those, it's felt like someone pinching me with sharp finger nails until a chunk falls off

  • @genomic The bug in the video is a spruce bug, they only live for a few days and then they look for a spruce tree to make a "hole", lay eggs and die. They are pretty much blind and use those rabbit ears looking antennas to navigate while flying. As a result when they land on someone they often think they've found a tree and start "digging" taking out a nice chunk of skin. It's probably one of the nastiest bites in Ontario. I had my fair share working at the lumber mill.

  • I mean Tar Sand Beetle!

  • June Bug.... is this in fort mcmurray?

  • lol He's cute

  • they actually rip out a chunk for no fricken reason

  • it's a spruce bug, northwestern ontario has them, aggressive as hell, will attack for no reason and they do take a chunk out of you and it hurts and burns

  • @zanski11 pussy

  • That's a spruce sawyer. They won't bite unless you threaten them, and even then its harmless and won't cause you any pain. Those of you saying their bite hurts like hell, you're probably thinking of spruce beetles who look completely different.

  • Those bugs are nasty, we get a lot of them here and I kill every one I see... They take a chunk out of you when they bite... Those things like to eat wood so you see them all the time in the lumber yards

  • Will it BLEND? That is the question

  • WELCOME TO ONTARIO! HAVE A NICE SUMMER!! (you poor bastards)

    Yours truly,

    Spruce Bugs of Death

  • Ugh, I hate spruce bugs. Evolutionary dead ends.

  • Ewwwwwwww

  • the bug isnt huge! its antennae are huge!

  • You should have killed that bug. Pinebeetles cause mass deforestation around my cabin in north Manitoba, these insects dig right through the bark and lay their eggs, where the offspring grow by eating through the internal wood.

  • Do any antennae come with that??? Gezz... -.-

  • Isn't that an Asian longhorn beatle?

  • That is a pine bug. They feel like a bee sting when they bite you and there everywhere. Kind of like a twilight fan.

We were calling them Pine Beetles so I bet Spruce is right. & yes CHUNKS! It was about 3 inches long and the chunk my dad had out of his thumb was about the size of a pencil eraser. =O

  • Animals look so stupid, but turn out to be so smart.

unlike this 1, i thought it was cute, until someone said it was terrifyinggetting chased.

Imagine:you run out yer house 3 miles away.

Sit down for a cuppa next thing ya know, the bug is in yoer cup.

2nd youy go 58 km away from you're country, the bug is in you're auitcase lol

Next the bug hits you in you're sleep.

    lol

  • It bites pretty hard , but they are still pretty cute.

  • The people calling this thing "cute" have obviously never been chased by one...TERRIFYING! Does anyone know what the official name for this bug is? We call it a spruce bug in Northern Ontario, but I can't seem to find the actual name for it...

  • I know hey? they suck.. the names I know for them are spruce bugs, woodchoppers, and sawyer beetles... their not very common

NovaScotia canada in the summer. they deffinitly can be big their antennai are huge forsure and they emit a very loud buzzing sound. they also make little

sounds when their in pain.. They fly looking for things to grasp on to all legs out stretched so if youv been unfortunet enuf to get in its flight path omg Freak out time! ick ick ick. i assumed it was a spruce/pine beatle.

  • That's where I live, we see them around all the time - spruce beetles, I think. Little bastards are eating our trees :(

  • those things can take a huge chunk of skin off your arm if they bite you.

  • We have these where I come from, I "think" they are the male species of the spruce bug but I am no expert so look it up if your not sure.

  • it looks like a big wevil...

  • moahahahahahahaa o my good momooejhohohoh

  • cool....theirs lots of weird stuff in this world...

  • do people not understand that calling something 'huge' on video is dependent on having something to compare it too? this could be a very tiny bug, with a big telephoto lens.

  • Just compare this Cerambycid beetle to a Titanus giganteus and will get a new definition of "huge".

  • ive tried those before in a restaurant in mexico. very crunchy with a mild flavor.

  • is that a snew species of coakroach

  • aww its so cute.

    ^^!

  • wow
