That's a routine question after a game, so what is the problem? Sherman has always been 100% positive about Griffin and given quotes that anyone making a Heisman run would want out for public consumption. It would be particularly helpful since Sherman had a lot of success in the NFL with a legendary QB. Also, the B/CS Eagle and Waco Tribune (local paper for Baylor) are affiliated.

Congrats to RGIII on an amazing performance. They guy is an incredible athlete and his personal effort yesterday was a real gift to behold. I am sure Sherman had nothing but encouraging things to say to him - coming from the NFL he knows and appreciates athletic ability and I am going to guess positive words from a guy who coached Brett Farve were then and will always be meaningful to RG3...my take

RGIII is a classy guy and a great athlete. I'm an Aggie fan myself,
but having grown up playing football. you learn to have respect for guys that play the game like he does, and he plays it well. Not only that, but you can tell he was a well-raised kid. He's not like the snobby-Baylor kid stereotype, and I hope to see him make it REAL big one day.

Wow, don't know why Briles did what he did, but was even much more classless are some of the comments below from Aggies. Why generalize a whole university for that response and start name calling, etc. Was a tough game to swallow, but congrats on a good win. I can lose with class, please just win with class.

Baylor football is having their best on the field year is quite a while, but they seem to be more and more a joke. I really like Art Briles and am sure that he was frustrated after the game, but this just continues to make Baylor athletics look classless.

these players are adults.. they should be able to answer questions accordingly. they asked the player not the coach. with that said, the player should be cautious about what he says and besides.. no player is gonna go against his coach to talk the the media... that was a dumb move by coach. briles. i cant tell you how many times ive heard that question asked so i dont know why briles acted that way... unless what he told the player is something he really shouldnt have said.

PS in reality Sumlin inherited a program and recruits handed to him by Baylor's Art Briles, notice he's leaving now that those recruits are graduating.

@jeffkeeper01 When was the last time A&M finished ranked in the top 20, won ten games, won a bowl game or won a Heisman? Who has a better record than the fired Mike Sherman? Baylor across the board has done all of those things in a single year (except fire it's coach), accomplishments Aggies have to point back to 1998 and 1957 to satisfy.

That's a routine question after a game, so what is the problem? Sherman has always been 100% positive about Griffin and given quotes that anyone making a Heisman run would want out for public consumption. It would be particularly helpful since Sherman had a lot of success in the NFL with a legendary QB. Also, the B/CS Eagle and Waco Tribune (local paper for Baylor) are affiliated.
For whatever reason, Baylor certainly seems to enjoy cutting off their nose to spite their face.

Historically A&M has a winning percentage of .426, which sounds pretty mediocre to me. Football is one thing, but the other sports are in great shape no matter what conference they are in. Not sure you can rely on historical records for schools that were all-military for almost the first century of their existence.
