Am having a samsung galaxy and need to install openeclair. Can some one tell me where I can find the step-by-step instruction to install it on galaxy?

after i tried to jail break my g1 it says update terminated update fail, that happens after i try updating with dreaimg.nbh file

I think it failed because you used iPhone terms like "jail break"

Use the android terms like "root" and then maybe it will work.

You need to learn a bit about version numbers. Launcher2 (the nexus launcher) and Gallery3D aren't alone what make the version number. Version 2.0 is SDK 5, 2.0.1 is SDK 6, and 2.1 is SDK 7. What this means is that build 2.1 should be able to run apps made against SDK v7, where 2.0.1 and 2.0 wouldn't be able to.

Anyway, I was initially listed as one of the devs for this rom but I "resigned". In principle, I can't support a rom with "open" on the name that uses non-free content (google apps).

Hey man...read my posts. I said it looks like a 2.0.1 rom...which it does. I get what you are saying but what do you call a rom that looks like 2.0.1 that could (but doesn't ) run 2.1 apps? What's the point of calling it 2.1? I'm running 2.0.1 with 2.1 apps...the rom in this video is just backwards (I understand its a G1 and not a droid but still)...

By your logic, windoze 7 would be called windows 2000 every time you changed the DWM to classic? I mean, it DOES look like windows 2000, so it must be it, right?

With 2.1 and the old launcher, no functionality is lost, only eye-candy.

2.1 roms ARE very capable of running 2.1 apps, I got the Live wallpapers, launcher2, and gallery3D to load up, the problem is that the apps are made for a larger screen, something that's completely unrelated to which version of android it is.
