@JTNorquay You can't really compare original Foo Fighters stuff to a Deadmau5 remix to be fair, DJ's are often given the remix parts and then given a deadline anything between a week or a couple of days to finish it in. The Foo Fighters most likely had a lot longer writing and perfecting the song. Also remixes can be just as simple as your making out anyway, they can keep the best elements of the original and just make them more dance floor friendly whereas others can be a lot more complex.

And the combo of guitars, bass, drums and vocals is such a great combination that it's been around for over 100 years and is still finding new ways to present itself. It took my friend years to get amazing at drums. It took me about 6 minutes to become a god with a midi keyboard and a drum plug-in. It doesn't take a genius to use loops and tracks.
It takes years to get good at producing, getting mixdowns perfect, bassline synthesis etc and deadmau5 is one guy making the drums, bass and everything in his tracks, hardly fair to compare him to a band which is 4 people who probably have someone doing the production work for them aswell.

But there's a difference between using audio controllers and actually learning to play the instruments individually. Yeah, he makes his own tracks, I understand that. but it's very simplistic as far as electronic goes.

I have nothing against Dubstep or house, but Deadmau5 doesn't deserve much credit at all in the genre whatsoever. Foo Fighters spend months writing songs from scratch in Dave Grohl's garage. Nothing but creativity. Deadmau5 takes a song that's already been written, adds an electronic drum beat. a synth line or too, dropped bass, and it's considered good. I say fuck that.

@jonnyrulz I prefer the Dave Grohl route and making music from scratch. But seriously, all you need is logic, a midi keyboard and you can be the next big thing. Seems like it anyways. Deadmau5's songs are just weak. it's usually just 2 tracks going at once. It's pathetic. Skrillex? As far as dubstep and house go, that's where it's at. And, I'll gladly make a remix if you write a song of this caliber for me to remix.

@JTNorquay yeah but what I like about Deadmau5 is that he makes good club and mood music, and he's really good at making ambient melodies. I agree with you, music made from scratch or played in an actual band will always be my favorite, but I just don't know what I would do without "Strobe" or the millions of remixes Deadmau5 does

I think it's an absolutely beautiful melody. I'm just trying to say that he shouldn't get mass attention for just editing a song that was written by The Foo Fighters.

Both songs created by deadmau5. And if you didn't know, deadmau5's genre would be classified as house, and he does do dubstep (I'm not a fan though). You are SOO dumb, fo real.

@XIXColemanXIX I didn't say he didn't make his own music? Listen to the tracks in his music, it's extremely simple. He usually just uses the "melody-chords-bass/synth" in his songs. Maybe in different orders, but for the most part. yeah. I just find it dull and boring compared to other electronic artists.

@JTNorquay You can't really compare original Foo Fighters stuff to a Deadmau5 remix to be fair, DJ's are often given the remix parts and then given a deadline anything between a week or a couple of days to finish it in. The Foo Fighters most likely had a lot longer writing and perfecting the song. Also remixes can be just as simple as your making out anyway, they can keep the best elements of the original and just make them more dance floor friendly whereas others can be a lot more complex.

And the combo of guitars, bass, drums and vocals is such a great combination that it's been around for over 100 years and is still finding new ways to present itself. It took my friend years to get amazing at drums. It took me about 6 minutes to become a god with a midi keyboard and a drum plug-in. It doesn't take a genius to use loops and tracks.

It takes years to get good at producing, getting mixdowns perfect, bassline synthesis etc and deadmau5 is one guy making the drums, bass and everything in his tracks, hardly fair to compare him to a band which is 4 people who probably have someone doing the production work for them aswell.

@SteelDogX Actually they produced their latest record by themselves in Dave Grohl's garage. And yeah, he's doing it all himself. But there's a difference between using audio controllers and actually learning to play the instruments individually. Yeah, he makes his own tracks, I understand that. but it's very simplistic as far as electronic goes.
