If you never heard of O.V. Wright, more than likely you never heard of James Carr, both are from Memphis and both are considered the greatest singers in Soul Music.
The decline of OV Wright,the great intensity of his voice was lost at that time,unfortunately.He was the boss of the southern soul in the late sixties and early seventies.How sad to hear his voice in this song,when we heard his wonderful voice in his golden era.

I grew up with people like him and Lattimore Brown in my home as a kid from 69 to 71 those guys could sing like hell! They were nice guys too.

Gone too soon. I miss him everytime i hear any song by him. He was one of a chosen few. Pure Soul. Nothing lacking.
