Ya Montana is way arid when you are living in certain areas and no different from new Mexico or Arizona. I stayed in a small community called Jordan Montana and it was as about as Old West you can get these days. I mean the population couldn't have been more than 200.

Why do they need 4 cisterns and 7 cooling tubes for a 2 bedroom home in Montana? That seems like overkill, it's not like it's in the New Mexico desert or anything.

It can get pretty hot and dry in Montana. I live in Washington but I've vacationed there before. The time to install extra things like this is in the construction phase.
