I don't really like the direction they took after Black Sails, but I wouldn't consider them sell-outs. While their music may seem a little bit more 'hot topic core', AFI always had elements of dark romantic/gothic rock, and as the band and its individual members developed and the music became more polished, it's easy to mistake a transition to a more refined, and less raw (or 'less punk') sound for selling out.
This song was all I listened to last winter......aaahh walking trough a snow-covered forest at dusk/twilight with this song stuck in my head.....beautiful...
heh, I love all of the foreshadowing/ theme continuity in AFI's work - "forever walking through december" - several years later, decemberunderground comes out - on Black Sails Davey talks about rising from ashes, like a Phoenix, Sing The Sorrow's year of the rabbit theory/three hares symbol on decemberunderground etc. - even Crash Love had an anti organized religion song, Sacrilege, a trend that's been going since "New Patron Saints And Angels", "God Called In Sick Today", "The Lost Souls" etc.

I LOVE AFI! And this song is fuckin amazing :) I first heard of AFI when I saw Miss Murder on MTV when it 1st came out, and my love for them has grown and grown ever since then :) I love every song. every song. And their old music is just as good as the new, just with different styles :)

1-Ive know the band in 06 w/the song&vid of MissMurder. I bought STS 1st and really loved it, and they became 1 of my fav bands, I love them so fuc**ng much!! The AFI that I love the +, love really really more than the other and makes me live big emotions is the new 1. But even if it's another thing, that I don't like as much and doesn't make me feel the big emotions like the new 1, I also love the old 1 & bought the albums. Well, I still miss 2 albums but I'll buy them when I'll see them:)<3

So yeah, my opinion of this song is that the guitar playing is quite simplistic. It was my first AFI song....quite easy for a beginner yet, has enough within the chords that anyone can find room to play, which anyone whom has heard it in concert will agree with.
The vocals are top notch, Davey at his best. AFIRULZ!
How about this little thought; AFI makes the music that they feel like. If we like it, awesomesauce. If we don't, cool. Doesn't give anyone the right to bash on this amazing band that we all enjoy and support just because they've grown, evolved, and matured as musicians and some of us haven't.

@Dustin795 I got into AFI from Miss Murder. The song's popularity gave them an explosion of fans, more money, and more room for creativity (all of which they deserve.) You should be happy that people liked that song, because it helped a band you like. Miss Murder was a launch pad for their success; if you truly liked the band, you would be happy for them. My favourite albums are Art of Drowning & Sing the Sorrow, but no album sucks.

@AFIForever1 Well , I think he tried to make his voice harsh and accidently made a throat scream and loved it (don't we all love his screams ? ) . He never stoped using them , and got used to the pain eventually. He did fucked up his voice a bit , but still sounds great :) . I guess he was born to sing.

1-Ive know the band in 06 w/the song&vid of MissMurder. I bought STS 1st and really loved it, and they became 1 of my fav bands, I love them so fuc**ng much!! The AFI that I love the +, love really really more than the other and makes me live big emotions is the new 1. But even if it's another thing, that I don't like as much and doesn't make me feel the big emotions like the new 1, I also love the old 1 & bought the albums. Well, I still miss 2 albums but I'll buy them when I'll see them:)<3

So yeah, my opinion of this song is that the guitar playing is quite simplistic. It was my first AFI song....quite easy for a beginner yet, has enough within the chords that anyone can find room to play, which anyone whom has heard it in concert will agree with.
The vocals are top notch, Davey at his best. AFIRULZ!

How about this little thought; AFI makes the music that they feel like. If we like it, awesomesauce. If we don't, cool. Doesn't give anyone the right to bash on this amazing band that we all enjoy and support just because they've grown, evolved, and matured as musicians and some of us haven't.
I'll admit that I prefer their older stuff, but their newer is still good.

You should be happy that people liked that song, because it helped a band you like. Miss Murder was a launch pad for their success; if you truly liked the band, you would be happy for them. My favourite albums are Art of Drowning & Sing the Sorrow, but no album sucks.

@AFIForever1 Well , I think he tried to make his voice harsh and accidently made a throat scream and loved it (don't we all love his screams ? ) . He never stoped using them , and got used to the pain eventually. He did fucked up his voice a bit , but still sounds great :) . I guess he was born to sing.
