@AlonzoVega yeah that is what it's evolved into and how people recognise it today, but this is what it sounded like originally, dark and ambient. producers have even created a subgenre of dubstep called future garage which acts as a movement against the newer, mainstream, filthy dubstep (now known as brostep) by reintroducing the 2-step, uk garage sound that it originally had.

Massive attack for one...Tricky, however Tricky sounds like he is trying to manipulate you...not my thing.

Morcheeba is definitely good, and Portishead. They have songs similar to this, but they also have songs widely different than this.

@rejrok King Midas Sound (The Bug produces this as well) and Black Chow (featuring this singer plus The Bug on production duties again). Trip-Hop is generally way more laid-back than this...yes, it has the smoky, sensual vibe but the heavy subbass and grit? That comes from a Dub and Dubstep influence. Still, you can't go wrong with Massive Attack, Portishead and Tricky.

Oh yeah, I'd also recommend checking out Emika - Double Edge (Pinch Remix). There's an official video on Youtube for it.
