Hello. I think you are doing a very fine job with your bowls. I tried in school and I was not very good. I made the clay too thin and they exploded inside the kil. I like to paint 25mm figures and I taught my son how to paint them, now He's better than I am. Keep up the good work, you'll get the color problem figured out, you'll be able to take your bowls to a craft show someday and sell them all there. stay sweet and thank Jesus for the day.
They look really cool maybe you could use the bowl or plate type ones as dishes and vases to hold stuff in there's one that makes me laugh becuause my mom is looking for a soap dish to put bar soap on and it had the perfect blend for that lol
@cartman16323 Yes. I live in Ohio. And, I haven't tried selling my ceramics pieces yet, so I'm not really sure. I don't think there's a huge market for it, but there are art galleries around that have ceramics pieces for sale.
@AWESOMEONEHA10 Thank you! My new ceramics video is getting posted today. :) And, that's just a term - it basically means to pull up clay and shape it.
I love handmade clay stuff, I was sad when I graduated and couldn't make anymore clay stuff. I gave alot of my bowls and cups away for christmas and birthday presents. I made my mom a giant coffee cup that held like 2 pots of coffee. I love the raku firing - though you cannot eat anything you make from it. If you glaze with black raku, and put clear crackle raku on top of it it will give you beatiful colors, its one of the best reds I've ever gotten. The low fire glazes give brighter colors.
i love them there all awesome !!!! maibe if you dont need some you could sell them you would make allot of money (: but like the ones your not attached to or dont really need.i would buy all of them if i wasnt broke ! but its hard to make money wen your only 11 eny ways in you other vid i loved the gum ball machine! it looks so realistic!!!
If your red for the rose was a high fire copper red glaze then the atmospheric conditions of the kiln play a role in the color. A kiln in oxidation "electric" will fire a copper red in a green color and a kiln in reduction " gas, wood ect..." will turn the glaze red. Getting the kiln properly reduced (that is reduced oxygen) is a very tricky business and take alot of practice just like throwing on the wheel.
i don't know now if you were taught this but you said that the glaze for the rose was red but turned out a different color. glazes always look different in the bucket. my teacher has a glaze that looks mint green in the bucket but is actually black
@MsBreann893 Very true. The thing is, the glaze actually said red on it, but certain reds are touchy and can end up turning a blueish color... Most of the glazes we use in class are white, grey, or red, but they turn out totally different once they're fired.
i LOVE doing that stuff. i took a pottery class when i was like 10, and then another one in college, and its just so much fun. that was almost a decade after and it was still fun :) my boyfriend took that one with me and he made this box and carved a bunch of Rat Fink characters into it, fired it, then just painted it with acrylic paint, and it turned out AMAZING. so you should try just acrylic paint on one and see if you like it :) then maybe spray it with a clear gloss spray paint :)
i love all of ur bowls u made me want to go back to ceramics class :) as for ideas to use i woul use some as flower pots as jewlery bowls the flower one as a soap bowl etc etc luv ur videos:)
I definitely like the teal color one! Your doing a good job : ) what school do u go to? Oh i like the one that's ur favorite to i have more then 2 favorites lol and put them in ur kitchen.... Have everyone use them!
Hello! I was just wondering, I do ceramics at school, and we almost always put on underglazes and then put a clear glaze on top. Do you do this? Or do you just put coloured glazes on? We hardly ever do that. Thanks && I love your videos! <3
you know when you touch the pieces you make they usually feel rough? Like it's not a smooth feeling, so do u know how you can get a clean touch to it? kind of like glass?
Awesome pieces you made! The tall & deeper ones could be used as plant pots. You could totally buy some really pretty flowers or a plant and put them in there and give them away for presents :P
ooo..................i love the one that has the blue-green glaze and the black flowery designs on the inside of it. i am so bad at throwing...but then again i am twelve...... and i love the one with the rose.but my favorite is the last one you showed. yes. half of the pots i made are mess ups and useless as well
@rodeo1211 Thanks! =] && Good ideas! I probably will end up using some of them for decoration // storage // kitchen purposes once I get a house. RIght now I only have my bedroom to decorate, and it's a mess that I don't really feel like dealing with. haha. (:
I love bright colors too, lol. I used that same stuff to make a 15LB King cobra.. It was my greatest creation... It exploded in the kiln, I cried .. ='( But then I found sculpey!!!
@pepitaconnaranja Because, I don't want to post duplicate videos... I would delete them and move them here, but I don't want to lose all of my views and comments. I have them on the playlist for this channel, though.
you should sell them or give them as gifts to pple (family friends, relatives, gifts when you go to college, etc. You can put a bunch of candy in a bag and place them inside or you could put some soaps inside and wrap it up as a gift. I suppose you could also use them to store your jewelry, or pencils. you might also put some shells in them or use them underneath a potted plant to prevent water spilling.
@SoCraftastic maybe you can use them as cat bowls :D
