Anyone watching this I ask you. How would Mayweather ever have been able to handle this Shane Mosley here. He couldn't role his shoulders with that speed, or threaten Mosley with any power. Mosley on the other hand was very strong and powerful with a great chin to go along with the speed. It's a shame Mosley couldn't have gotten his hands on him when he was in his prime.
Easy. With his JAB. Just like Vernon Forrest did to Shane. At 130/135 Floyd Mayweather Jr has a STINING jab to the head, and an even HARDER jab to the stomach, and threw beautiful combinations. Shane would have been competitive, but vs. prime Floyd you have to take Floyd by decision in a good close clean fight. It's a shame they reached their primes at different points and at different weight classes.
Oscar Delahoya had a much better jab than Mayweather at his prime and couldn't out point Mosley with it so I highly dought Mayweather could have. Mayweather would have had no threatening power to a chin like Mosley's and though he was a quicker pot shotter I think Mosley had the quicker combinations. Don't forget Mosley would be the bigger guy and in his prime anyone he fought his height and down he just ate them up.
I'm not going to try and convince you of anything but most people who know boxing will tell that Delahoya at his prime had one of the best jabs if not THE best jab of the past 10-15 years. Mayweathers was pretty good but Mosley also had a very good jab which which he would have pressured Floyd with.
Besides being slightly quicker on the feet Floyd had no advantage in speed over Mosley and Mosley had a big advantage in power and toughness not to mention he had very good boxing skills.
Mosley was completely different from Corrales and on a different level. Mayweather had great defensive skills but would have givin Mosley no offensive threat.
Nobody who knows boxing will say DLH had anything close to the best jab in the buisness over the last 15 years. Hell, even Ike Quartey had a better a jab than De La Hoya. Keep learning the sport my friend. Peace.

If you want to compare, try Castillo - a body puncher like Mosley, applies pressure like Mosley, and strong as heck at 135 like Mosley was. Then add Mosley's speed and talent. If Mayweather struggled with Castillo I think it's safe to say he'd have had his hands full with Shane.

Anyone watching this I ask you. How would Mayweather ever have been able to handle this Shane Mosley here. He couldn't role his shoulders with that speed, or threaten Mosley with any power. Mosley on the other hand was very strong and powerful with a great chin to go along with the speed. It's a shame Mosley couldn't have gotten his hands on him when he was in his prime.

Easy. With his JAB. Just like Vernon Forrest did to Shane. At 130/135 Floyd Mayweather Jr has a STINING jab to the head, and an even HARDER jab to the stomach, and threw beautiful combinations. Shane would have been competitive, but vs. prime Floyd you have to take Floyd by decision in a good close clean fight. It's a shame they reached their primes at different points and at different weight classes.

Oscar Delahoya had a much better jab than Mayweather at his prime and couldn't out point Mosley with it so I highly dought Mayweather could have. Mayweather would have had no threatening power to a chin like Mosley's and though he was a quicker pot shotter I think Mosley had the quicker combinations. Don't forget Mosley would be the bigger guy and in his prime anyone he fought his height and down he just ate them up.

I'm not going to try and convince you of anything but most people who know boxing will tell that Delahoya at his prime had one of the best jabs if not THE best jab of the past 10-15 years. Mayweathers was pretty good but Mosley also had a very good jab which which he would have pressured Floyd with.

Besides being slightly quicker on the feet Floyd had no advantage in speed over Mosley and Mosley had a big advantage in power and toughness not to mention he had very good boxing skills.

Mosley was completely different from Corrales and on a different level. Mayweather had great defensive skills but would have givin Mosley no offensive threat.

Nobody who knows boxing will say DLH had anything close to the best jab in the buisness over the last 15 years. Hell, even Ike Quartey had a better a jab than De La Hoya. Keep learning the sport my friend. Peace.

Whatever man. I don't think I'm going to convince you of anything. Quartey did have better jab in there fight no that I think about it. But I've seen alot of Delahoya fights and that jab was a killer. Think back to his fight with Mayweather and in the rounds where he applied himself he was beating Floyd with his jab. BTW a jab doesn't always have to land to be affective. Have you ever boxed before?

Brugality, you're linking to the Mayweather Corrales fight and then telling people to "keep learning". Corrales and Mosley don't have much in common, stylistically, so what's your point? If you want to compare, try Castillo - a body puncher like Mosley, applies pressure like Mosley, and strong as heck at 135 like Mosley was. Then add Mosley's speed and talent. If Mayweather struggled with Castillo I think it's safe to say he'd have had his hands full with Shane.

yes indeen, man, this was vintage Mosley! He would of destroyed cotto in his prime. An almost perfect fighter Mosley was.

Very true, very few fighters get the nickname "Sugar". He's "Sugar" Shane Mosely for a reason.
