I was not born in Newfoundland, I was born in Switzerland. But I have lived here since I was a baby. This is my homeland, such an amazing place with such amazing people.
ya i know i love it there too my nanny josie lives there and we visit her in the summers but this year were going this christmas and i wish i lived there all the time.!!!
depends what youre looking for in a place. if youre into quiet living, lovely scenery..general tradtional appearance to everything (except the capital which is more modern), albeit with the downsides..some narrow mindedness, plenty of shit talking, domestic abuse, alcoholism, etc..then sure. its really great if thats all cool by you. im on the west coast now and kind of miss it..but mostly not.
if youre looking for a really fast paced kinda place, tons going on..nl isnt the place for you, sire.
@pendevil NEWFIES ARE GOOD PEOPLE MORE THAN I CAN SAY ABOUT THE WESTERN FUCKS ...MOST DONT KNOW THE TRUE MEANING OF FRIENDSHIP AND HAVING FUN ... IF U DON'T LIKE THE ROCK THEN FUCK U ALL I LOVE IT ORIGINAL PEOPLE AND TRUE TO THEIR WORD . THAT'S A TRUE NEWFIE TO ME
Yes, NEWFOUNDLAND IS THE MOST AWESOME LAND THERE HAS EVER BEEN! The people are awsome. The land is awsome. The drinks are awsome. The food is the best of it all. Newfoundland food is the best in all the world.
Im doing a documentary on Bands from newfoundland that maybe should have been famous but didn't quite get there... There's lots of talent from the rock..
any suggestions on bands, and where to get footage?
Thanks. I'm aware there was a fair bit of stuff left out, but it wasn't supposed to be an intricate attempt, it was for a Sociology project, and it served well as an accompaniment to the essay I wrote along with it.
I thought it was extremely well done.Of course , when you're an old man of 45(ahemmmmmm) there are a lot of bands left out , but you know as well as I do , that If we had to show all of the talent in Newfoundland , Youtube wouldn't have enough room
Thanks man. I agree. If the circumstances were proper and I was assigned to do a fuller length video, you can bet I would've put even more research into it, and a lot more bands would've been included.
Good grief. Quite a shock to go from the lovely playing of Emile Benoit to whatever-the-hell the music in the second half was. And with the exception of Tickle Harbour, all my favorite post-Emile/Rufus musicians seem to have been left out....
i miss the newfies... wah.

I did a Musicology course & presented on Newfoundland music. All you can do is show a summary. The richness!
