i've seen it 2, and its rare that the mouse will actualy harm the spider, but still possible. and if the mouse does scratch or bite it, it will die b/c tarantulas blood cant clot.

Tarantulas drag their prey down into their nest and masticate it into a ball of meaty soup (so to speak), then suck all the nutrients out. Once they are finished with it they just discard whatever is left outside the entrance.
