"Democracy is a device that insures we shall be governed no better than we deserve."
George Bernard Shaw
"The enormous gap between what US leaders do in the world and what Americans think their leaders are doing is one of the great propaganda accomplishments of the dominant political mythology ...The real danger we face is not from terrorism, but what is being done under the pretext of fighting it." - Michael Parenti
"Even 51 per cent of a nation can establish a totalitarian and dictatorial règime, suppress minorities, and still remain democratic; there is, as we have said, little doubt that the American Congress and the French Chambre have a power over their respective nations which would rouse the envy of a Louis XIV or a George III were they alive today." - Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn
Democracy is nonexistent. Democracy is government designed to define and fulfill the true will of the people. Our will has never been defined or espressed. It's only been repressed. The advent of real democracy (such as the system at MajorityVoice) will begin the prophesied thousand years of peace, because peace, justice and prosperity are the values we'll all vote for. It's time. OUR WILL BE DONE! Only We will always have our best interests at heart. Let's rule!
@bugsz1 ~ We'd all rather be ruled by a majority of our neighbors than by that tiny mob of psychotic banksters who plan to kill 90% of us and enslave the rest, who illegally own our world and us. You know them, the guys you work for. Or, could you only be ignorantly repeating their brilliant propaganda? Real democracy is their worst nightmare, because they rightfully fear our justice.
Democracy is in constant danger without continuous improvement through new experiments, beginning at local levels and trying the most successful experiments at higher levels.
You can view the video short "A NEW DEMOCRACY" for more details -- and judge a new idea for yourself. From the video: "Using only elections leaves democracy wide open to corruption by money, power, and mass media."
Democracy as a form of government is non-existant. To my knowlege the last democratic nation was Ancient Greece. The western world mainly uses the Representative Republic style government, which only borrows a small portion of the democratic process.
@trappy77 actually not even Ancient Greece was democratic....but maybe you mean Ancient Athens.....still...Athens had no Democracy....democracy never existed
@trappy77 Your first statement is correct. Even in ancient Greece most of the "people" were slaves. But, at least, they knew they were slaves. Kissinger said, "The best form of slavery is one in which the people don't know they're slaves." He was talking about us and this matrix of lies we inhabit. There have been degrees of democracy: but neve a true democracy. When it happens, it will be the shining example for us to follow, because it will be a land of peace, justice and prosperity.
@stopdemockery You claim that since "true democracy" has never been achieved we can't criticize it. Could it possibly be that "true democracy" has nothing to do with reality and thats why it never can or will be achieved. Due to the fact that humans are inherently incapable of perfection your ideal of "true democracy" will remain nothing more than an ideal.
@ImperialRussianGuard ~ Democracy is simply government governed by the governed. It has nothing to do with perfection. It's about acheiving our common goals, like ending war, corruption and this matrix of lies we inhabit. We have many unfulfilled common goals. Let's get those manifested. Then we can worry about manifesting perfection.
The truest form of democracy ever acheived was Venice, which thrived for several centuries with a system that gave weighted votes, more for the royalty.
@stopdemockery Its interesting that you mention Venice considering it was an aristocratic republic. The Doges were not elected by commoners but by fellow aristocrats. The same case was in Rome and any other republic which had succeeded. From my impression your idea of "true democracy" is essentially Ochlocracy. The only example this has form of " true democracy" in history is Ancient Athens. To say the least the Athenian government was greatly flawed.
I'm not really sure we have any true democracies in the world today, except for perhaps Switzerland, I've heard they vote on everything, but not sure though.
The idea of majority rule seems kind of weak as I start thinking about the margins. You play out groups of opinions against each other and make them think they rule, sort of like... divide and conquer... wow.. never thought of it like that..
51% for majority can in theory leave 49 % of the population gravely unsatisfied.
As for war, it just boils down to pure greed. Religions and political views are used to shroud the true power at work in most wars even today. Man will not be civilized until we reach peace, we've got some distance ahead for that.
@ZukaZumamee so you think war is natural? You think greed is natural? At this point we're more like a virus or cancer on this planet. It won't change until ALL of us start changing. But then again, that would mean a strenuous effort on an individual level, and from what I've seen peoples egos resist them from steering away from indoctrinated ways. What you speak of as natural is your lifelong conditioning telling you that this is what life has to look like, everything else is just fairytales.
@ChrisSkills Don't try to be cute with me. I'm 16, with parents from two cultures that are worlds apart. I can tell when someone's just parroting their cultural "indoctrination," and that's what you're doing. Everyone's seeking an end to war, no one cares about the underlying tensions that are taken advantage of for war.
@ZukaZumamee I'm not trying to be nothing, just telling you what I think. If everyone sought peace we would have it. But it's more like, "Peace for me, yes please, but I'll have a piece of yours as well whether you like it or not". Thing is that it doesn't have to be like that, people adapt to this type of system because it's all they've ever seen. We grow up in a destructively competitive system because it's what our parents grew up in, and their parents. But it holds us back as a species.
@ChrisSkills True true, I never said our current way of life isn't destructive. I just don't think it's the best idea to create a society where populations can (and will) boom.
@ZukaZumamee Also true. I think a solution to that problem is to eliminate poverty by education and fair play. Its a well known fact that uneducated people generally have more children, and it's insane taken that they tend to be poor already and now get even lesser chanse to stay afloat with more mouths to feed. Education must be substantial and teach people how to think for themselves so that new possibilities are created instead of cattle for industry. There's real potential in each man alive.
@ChrisSkills ~ Any sane person would prefer the rule of 51% of his neighbors, rather than the continued rule of the hand full of psychotic inbred bankster families who've manifested all ten of the Planks of the Communist Manifesto in America and most of the developed world and who created all our wars from lies for munitions profits and acquisition of resources and power. They've murdered millions of people, almost destroyed our planet and have been masters of our invisible prison forever.
@stopdemockery You claim that the people are controlled by the bankers. If that is so isn't that a case against democracy? Essentially you are demonstrating how easily the masses can be controlled. If democracy can be that easily manipulated is it really that good form of government?
@ImperialRussianGuard ~ If we'd had democracy over the last few decades, we'd have made policitcal corruption treason, which it is. Any way you look at it, it's not democracy if the people have no power, other than to vote between members of the same rethuglicrat party. We don't rule. We never have. So, there's never been democracy, regardless of how you twist my words. This conversation is pointless and over.
@ImperialRussianGuard ~ You must understand that there has never been a democracy on Earth, yet. That's where your thinking went wrong. Just because the banksters call their mock-democracy (demockery) democracy doesn't make it so. The people have never ruled anything at all. Our wil has always been repressed.
@ChrisSkills ~ The banksters' demockery is divide and conquer. They now illegally own almost everything of value on Earth, including you and all you think you own. They've indebted the majority and intentionally destroyed the global economy. Now that we have no money, they're forclosing ~ just like they did in the last depression they caused. They create our common proplems to sell us salves for the symptoms: not cures. The New World Ogres. Mankind's only true enemy. .
@stopdemockery I am very well aware of this. I never felt the monetary system to make any sense. And the progress by debt thing is just pure stupid. It slows down creativity and flourishment of our evolution with this me against you mentality. Sure a playful competition can do wonders on improvements, but turning it into life and death seriousness brings out cheaters and liers, saboteurs and spies out of most of us. As long as we play by their rules, we accept them.
@hula4483 no democracy gives everyone an equal opportunity to express themselves without persecution from the government, or so it should, both majority and minority. however, it does give people the right to promote favouritism and make biased or purely opinionated judgements, which can lead to discrimination. so i guess that you... are... ahem... right... in a way.
@RepublicEmpire Democracy is free speech ? Then why was Socrates killed by Athenian democracy for expressing his freedom of speech ? Why do so many modern democratic countries have laws which restrict ones freedom of speech ?
@ChrisSkills true true, education is Very important to a countries well being , but pop culture has always been the true power concering everything from politics to hair styles and always will be. (even when people are educated)
democracy comes with war? NO. democracy has come to defend those in war. look at korea. vietnam. they wanted the help of a true nation, and they got the help. instead of being beheaded , raped and destroyed, they were saved from their socialist enemies.
now, many years later, look at south korea, a free and democratic nation, compare it to north, their nuclear brothers may very well destroy all of us.
i'm sorry did you say vietnam? now i've never really had a problem with extremists like yourself, (you guys have your moments) but vietnam was one large clusterfuck of a war. and you are right about (south) korea, just don't talk about vietnam like you know exactly what happened.
@CHIRPACHEE ~ You can't blame war on democracy. Take a vote. The people only want peace, justice and prosperity. Don't you? Does anyone you know want less? But, the banksters, Our illegal owners, control the media, which validates their matrix of lies. Truly, when a mother signs the bith application, she has given her child to the state as its property. That's the kind of treachery we can expect with their demockery. It mocks the concept of democracy. Certificate = title of ownership.
@stopdemockery Yes we can. I will bring up the example of the Athenian war on Syracuse to demonstrate it. The Athenian uneducated mass greatly supported a war against Syracuse even though Nicias warned about the consequences of such an action. To say the least it was a military disasters which ended with the Spartan army entering Athens. War for the sake of War is a democratic feature,as a populistic wish to please the angry and decadent pleas of the mob.
Having said that, indoorin, I won't comment on abortion because I'm not sure whether I agree or disagree with you on it. Unfortunately, for as long as I can remember, I have never been able to decide where I stand on that issue, despite thinking about it quite a bit.
And of course I hope we can respect each others' opinions :)
And as for the tax changes, they alone are not enough to constitute socialism. I think the term that some people use is "social democracy" (but it's confusing because in Europe all the social democratic parties are called socialist parties). I personally prefer the term "welfare state" because it sounds more meaningful than social democracy :)
Democracy is fucked because it listens to everyone, and not to what the world needs. SO - Put in a bit of hitler and we kill two birds with one stone - People who believe and don't know, and live based on what they think is right. And we also downsize the population. Problem solved, if only people didn't have fear or were against murder. We have to act like animals to save mankind - Sorry to announce that to all you pieces of shit who think murder is bad, yet enslavement is good? Suck on that :)
Yeah democracy is bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Bombing Afghanistan and Iraq. Bombing Lebanon and Palestine. Next: bombing North Korea and Iran! tic, tac, tic, tac, tic, tac, tic, tac......
But do you not atleast see that North Korea is getting more and more dangerouse each day. And the huge threat they are making themselfs into. Do you not think somthing needs to atleast be done about them.
You're right Mike, something ought to be done about NoKor. But not by making another Hiroshima or Nagasaki. That country ought to be decapitated. Remove the tyrant leader and replace him with someone with a brain.
There hasn't been a notable true democracy since Ancient Athens. In a true democracy, the people directly vote on the individual decisions of it's government. It doesn't work on a scale larger than a small city-state like that. America, like most developed nations, is a democratic republic.
There are indirect democracies and direct democracies. You are right, a direct democracy is too slow for anything to get done, which is why the United States uses an indirect democracy, which isn't the original, but still a democracy.
why people so afraid of socialism? i rather put up with one dude governing for 50 years giving me free college education, healthcare and food, so i dont have to enslave myself working just to pay for all that shit...than have 50 dudes governing every 4 years who aint doing shit for me ...fuk it i guess its critical thinking but dumb ass people lack that shit and let the media manipulate them hahah ya'll deserve to be fucked then
Hmm you seem to imply that socialism can't be democratic. Scandinavia - a Good model of Social democratic nations, and they top the UN's human development Index(and has been doing that for quite some time) .
Ah yes, Hugo Chavez recently joked that Obama had become more socialist than he and Castro. Of course that isn't in the slightest bit true. Bailing out a bunch of banks and auto companies is not socialist. It's not very "free market," but it's far from socialism.
And remember that socialism is not the antithesis of democracy.
The government owns most of the banks and auto companies. Those are supposed to be non-governmentally owned. He is taking the American tax payers money and giving it to people who don't work or the abortion clinic's. And he is trying to get all of the big buisnesses governmentally owned. That is socialisim. And socialisim sucks.
Hey indoorin, I'll say a few things. I have to admit my knowledge of US politics isn't foolproof (I'm from Australia) but my understanding is that the US govt doesn't actually own the banks. I know it owns a good share of GM but the govt has said that it has no interest in running GM at all and plans to disown it soon. I won't comment on the abortion clinics because I know nothing about their funding. I don't think that the govt is trying to buy big businesses at all. Bailouts are different.
The government did give them bailouts but then after a while they said enough and bought the companies. And let me just say this about the abortion clinics. The people who run them are not actual doctors. Doctors are supposed to save people not kill them. The tax changes I agree with you about but he's putting the money of people who work for it into peoples' pockets who don't work for it. And welfare states are just sugar coating what it realy is. Sorry but that's my opion.
Ah I can see that with regards to welfareism, etc, we will never agree and I respect your opinion. But I must object to the idea that the role of the doctor is always to save people rather than kill them. In many cases, doctors justifiably shorten life rather than prolong it. This is, of course, often called euthanasia but it can be more subtle than that (for example, giving a terminal cancer patient in pain morphine, which hastens death). I believe this is right.
Yes the whole morphine thing does help but that's only if no cure is possible. But abortion is not helping anyone. It's that persons fault for having sex when knowing the consequences. Usualy people who have abortions don't use protection which then leads them to murder an unborn child. If they don't want it put it up for adoption not murder.
There is no democracy in western countries only perceived democracy. It does not matter who gets your vote as ultimately the same group of families who own the banks and multi-nationals are in control of politicians.
Search Youtube for webbot cliff high, Aaron Russo or Project Camelot. Start researching for yourselves as the mainstream media is only a propaganda outlet, giving you only pre-selected information that concurs with government agenda.
It's shameful and disloyal to criticize one's country during a war. Governments whip up fear into xenophobia and send their brainwashed citizens to kill each other. Some day we will wake up and realize that we are all one big human family being manipulated and preyed upon by an international ruling elite. We need to stop killing for them, stop funding them, stop obeying them at all. Then peace and freedom might have a chance.
Great point... but how do you suggest we do that? We would have to all collectively turn on "them" at the same time... because otherwise, they would just starve us or quietly execute those who oppose them.
What is your theory on overthrowing "the elite" who control us?
I know from experience that individuals standing alone against the system will get crushed. There has to be a critical mass of people resisting before it can be effective. Right now I'm just trying to get people to read "The Iron Web" and hopefully shake loose their faith in authority - to effect an invisible revolution in people's minds. Then someday, when one person stands up to resist, millions will follow.
sorry if im wrong but are you suggesting some communism in there?
just sayin sounds like that a lil
like the part about the one big human family part though..i believe that for world peace to come there will be more wars until the world unites under one banner...
I don't usually use that metaphor - it does sound a bit communistic. But no, I'm an anarchist. I used those words because I was talking earlier about group psychology and family cohesion. We tend to see the world in terms of nations and racial groups. Our world is a bit like a neighborhood where all the parents teach their kids to hate and fight with the kids of other families, to make all the families stronger. Then one day all the kids unite, throw out the parents and have peace.
Study of group psychology shows that groups become more cohesive when attacked from outside. Internal differences become less important, and loyalty to the group becomes stronger. Most of us have observed that brothers will fight with each other when there's no other threat, but they drop their differences to defend each other. This is one of the main reasons governments start wars: to take the focus off our differences and domestic problems.
What I'm saying is that countries definitely shouldn't mess with the internal affairs of other countries. Another bad thing is post-war assimilation of territories. After WW1, Alsace-Lorraine went back to France, but no pleibescite (general vote) was given. All who wanted to stay in Germany had to move. Also, millions of pre-war Germans in Prussia were expelled. That's why a lot of former Prussia is now part of Poland. That was not cool.
you can't blame us for defending our country Vulfi. Most Americans feel like they are damned no matter what they do. If there is an emergency people expect us to help, but sometimes complain that we do too much. you know?
I'm glad someone agrees with me. The United states is a republic people. Even school teachers get it wrong. My fear is that when all of the youth think US a democracy, the US will become one. That would be terrible.
Yes, America is a republic. I am a youth and i know that...if you know the definitions of a republic and a democracy, it's pretty easy to see that we are a republic.
I personally think democracy leads to a media controlled state. Most people are not formulating thier own descisions from information they gain from objective sources; they are being told what to think from subjective media outlets such as fox news. I don't claim to have any solutions. I definately don't live in a republic, I'm British. You live in a democratically elected republic yes.
So what would you rather have? a communist state? Because that worked out so well for the Soviet Union... I would agree there are some dipshits who base their voting and decisions off of the bullshit media, but saying that MOST do is a very bold statement. This is the reason why retard Obama got elected into office, because he could give good speeches and appeal to people, not because of his actual presidential ideas.
I'm afraid i'm not interested in getting into an arguement with you about "which political state I would rather have". Fact of the matter is you don't appear to have enough experience of the world to understand what works and what doesn't. Most people in this world do not make thier own descisions. Secular voting is very rare, most people are either inflenced by the media or thier parents. Obama is slightly different yes, but in america you have red, blue and swing states similar to england yes?
hahahahaha so because i'm 'young' i don't have enough experience? I have a degree in liberal arts and got accepted into a graduate school for next year but i guess thats not enough experience in the subject. strange.
I know parents and the media influence decisions, but it doesnt influence everyone's decisions. secular voting is very rare but still exists, and America, i believe, actually has alot of people who don't take influence from the biased propaganda they get from parents and the media.
Sorry, where did I say your age was the reason I don't you don't have enough experience? I made my judgement on your arguements and mannerisms, not your age. Back onto the subject, the media influences a lot of people which is not right in a democracy. There may be a lot of people who don't vote according to what the media tells them, but i'd say they are a minority on western democracys.
Yes, do you know how much the television hypnotizes people? I became aware of it in 9th grade, when a brilliant teacher of mine taught us all that. I observed my parents and sister: they were completely out of it while watching TV. Now, when I watch the news, I look for BS and the little hypnotizing tricks they use. I catch most of them. I saw one ironic commercial where kids are being hypnotized by the TV, but the dad brings home doughnuts, and they "unfreeze". It's ironic because most vieweres
I'm sorry about that, it's just that whenever i argue with someone they always bring up my age. But my mannerisms are based on what the comment i'm replying to said. Notice i'm not using the same words in this as i did in some of my other comments?
Democracy is flawed, and i agree too many people base their mindset on what the media says, thats why i'm working to become a teacher/professor, so that i can sway kids away from that.
And also Hitler didn't hate russians. He'd destroyed them because they got in the way of him.... Look. The truth is that on the way to power, you've gotta stomp those who get in the way of you. Hitler needed power to change Europe for the better. He did what he knew was right. You guys are painting him out to be a monster. He was a person. Did you know that your belief kills others as well, if used in an extremist fashion.... Heil hitler. He's the modern idol for someone who actually strived.
A little bit of advice, saying "owned" after every point you put forward doesn't actually achieve anything. The Russians were Slavic people, Hitler envisioned a world where Slavs were "slaves" to aryan people. He defineately did not think of them as his equals or respect them. He was a person who did monsterous things, genocide is monsterous. He did not want to kill jews, he wanted to kill/enslave all non aryan people. Please tell me what my belief is, you appear to know it better than me.
SHUT UP!!! Shut your propaganda mouth! I wipe my ass with fascism, communism and any other extremes! Im happy those failed attempts at ruling are dead and wont resurface. And Im not a democrat, Im an anarchist and a pacifist. People like you say democracy is 1 lamb and 2 wolves voting on what to eat? Then dictatorship is 1 wolf and 10000000 lamb choosing, but only the wolf gets the vote. Thats my fucking point. Democracys flawed, but theres no alternative.
Are you gonna say they were racist dredyouall. No. Racist is a modern made up word you fool. It's something you've been fed as you've been growing up. Racist or not. I actually give a damn about culture and individual direction, and I know that society isn't going to get anywhere by listening to everyones opinions. We must look at the facts, regardless of how many people they hurt who support democracy.
It is a culture of men, women, children, all sharing the same collective idea. "Look to the sky when all else fails"... They had a fucking huge effect on germanies culture. Jews also came from the east. Didn't we hate muslims once? Another good point - The spanish slaughtered the aztecs, the australians slaughtered the aborigine's. Germany is not the only country with blood on their hands. We all do what we do to protect ourselves. Just like humans destroying the earth for material comfort.
Very few cultures have no blood on thier hands. However a lot of this occurs when under autocratic or semi autocratic rule. The pogroms under Russian Tsars, Holocaust under Hitler, Spanish under thier kings/queens. None of that was to "protect" thier homeland, it was based on superstition and fear. In the Crusades, the leaders of the crusaders and muslims respected each other as adversarys. Hitler did not respect the Jews. The destruction is a result of capitalism not democracy.
And they call it muslim for a reason dude. Because it's a belief. That's a supersticion. That's what hitler feared. He feared people who believe things, because it had a big effect on how politics went in germany. Look at america ffs - A Doctor just got shot because some christian doesn't believe in Abortion. CULTURES HAVE A BIG EFFECT ON SOCIETY. That's why the catholics, christians, etc are going nuts about abortion in america. How can you listen to everyone in democracy? lolz. OWNED! :D
Hitler wanted to kill people on grounds of race (he wanted to kill semites, not just jews) not on groudns of religion. I'm not a religious person and I think secular states are very important. Culture is different to religion and it must be assimilated in order to create a socitty. Alexander the Great did it. The Romans did it. So why cant we?
And I dare anyone to say that we are not slaves to our government as well. Do we not have laws as well. Laws which save us from cleaning the world of human weakness. Nazi's heiled hitler for a reason. He was a leader to them, in a time when they needed it most. The germans were only protecting themselves from cross-breeding. And please don't say I'm racist. I'm the opposite. But I do know that some races are genetically more strong or smarter than the others. And jews are a race. Not a religion.
Well as product of this "cross breeding" you speak of I can conclude that you're wrong and racist. The myth of racial superiority is passed down through word of mouth, no scientific discovery supports it outright. Yes the Semites are a people, many of them follow Judaeism, but many dont (Chompsky does not, Einstein did not). Genetically, the gene that gives black features is the strongest. However there are clever black people, white people and asian people. Intelligence is not based on "race"
And I know this. But when I say race and culture, I mean that where we came from, we'd all had our own culture based on our colours. Different coloured and different looking people originally believed in different things. Bringing multiculturalism together was like saying "live in tolerance of others", thus many people lost their individual cultural and skin-coloured society... Life became different, and now, all have to give up ancestors ways for this society, or die. Christian power.
To be honest, Christians, Muslims and Jews worship the same Abrahamic god. They just have been twisted by thier so called leaders to think hes different. Multiculturalism may or may not be something thats achievable, but its something we should aspire to achieve in the least. Either that or an eternity of fighting which is not something that any sane person should want.
I'm not saying we should start killing people. I'm saying that humans should harden the fuck up, so we no longer run from things that will have big effects upon the human, earth, and animal future. We're just building, building, building to protect our ownselves, forgetting that it destroys our real home - planet earth. So you place your faith in science, or god or whatever, hoping for a cure that's easy to accept. Some diseases can't be fixed... We're parasytes. On the earth, and eating it dry.
I'd like to add another thing - The main reason that people hate hitler is because they're told to. They haven't actually looked at the points behind his research. He killed a lot of people, but our nation kills a lot of people as well. We think we're right, and that religious morality and love is the saviour... We're ignorant to our mass production, and materialistic ways of living life... Hardly anyone looks at the problem face on - How can the earth prevail if modern human lifestyle prevails?
Well I've looked at Hitler, he was a hate filled man. He hated the Jews, the Disabled, the Russians, the Slavs, the French, Black people, asian people. I'm sure there are more. The points behind his reasearch of eugenics have been mostly disproved. He tossaed aside nuclear reasearch because he thought it was "Jewish science". Once again this materialism is a product of capitalism not democracy, it happens under fascism too; I condone neither. Our best bet is a totally new way of living.
How can any society make a clear choice about a new goal to go towards when so many people have their different cultural contradicting beliefs? The fact is that the only way you can make clear paths is if you get rid of the people who form those beliefs that keep your society from having just one opinion. Different cultures in the past use to charge at eachother with swords, shields, horses, etc. Thats how much they loved standing up for their culture. Are you gonna say they were heartless? Ownd
Ah the classical toss up between the utilitairisn concept of "the greatest happiness for the greatest number" and Herbert Morrisons warning of having people live under the "tyranny of the majority". That is the reason that in western democracys we elect representatives to represent the best interests of the people, not delegates (see Burke). Do you believe the Roman and Greek slaves loved thier culture, or were they forced into it?
I am a Proud Black Democrat Southern Baptist. I am Pro Life and Pro Prayer.
My name is Mary. I was name after Mary Chapin Carpenter I live in Texas and my boyfriend wants to marry me. He lives in Dallas and is a Roman Catholic. We love Ron Paul Jeff Pure Christian Fisher Jane Bowell and Al Gore We are in support of a Fisher Paul ticket in 2012.
I don't live in America. I'm a Black British man. I can see that I would disagree with you on many Issues from your description but won't dwell on it. Naturally as a British man from a personal perspective I'm most interested in Americas foreign, not domestic policies. I dislike the american rightwing foreign policies of the modern day generally they are expansionsit and revolve around "American exceptionalism".
I hardly call sacrificing the lives of over 4000 Americans for the people of Iraq and Afghanistan expansionist. We are simply acting upon our world duties to combat oppression.
Who said anything about Iraq? On the point of Iraq why was America gained a disproportionate ammount of profit to the ammount of troops it deployed. By foriegn policy I mean towards the whole world not just war. Need I mention the Contras, Panama, Cuba, Israel-Palestine etc. America does not seek to combat oppression, or they'd have helped in the Congo, helped in Rwanda and be helping in Sudan today. America acts in its own interest not in the interest of any "World duties".
Yeah? so? what other countries do you know of that have helped in foreign affairs as much as the U.S. has? there is no one that has given and given like America has. Yet other countries fucking hate us. Why? because we haven't helped them yet? it doesn't make any sense....
And even IF we didn't help any other country, we'd still be the greatest country on earth simply because of how strong we are.
because you think that you're the greatest country...
you've only helped other countries so that you would be recognized as the greatest country...but im not saying that because you have helped other countries...
but its like you want something in return...
I mean is... you helping other countries is not what makes you a good country...
Yes your ancestors really earned it didn't they. Remember the native Americans they murdered? Remember the slave trade where they traded and exploited human lives for pure greed? Your ancestors were brilliant people, I don't see why we don't celebrade "Slave day" and "Go out and kill a brown person day" in memory of your ancestors now!
are you fucking kidding me? anything you condemn US for, UK has done twofold you silly bastard. Where do you think we got the idea of slavery from? We were an English colony you idiot, do you remember that? The great thing about America is that here you grow up learning about the injustices that occurred to establish this country. We have a common ancestry. This is such a ridiculous argument.
Yes, yes I recognise all thise. However I am a Mixed race British man and criticise England as much for this as america. I'd like to ask you to cool down your language, theres no need to swear.
As for the common ancestry, me being Mixed race we share less than we may think...
Note I was criticising your "great" ancestors, not saying that you in particular agree with what they did.
You think another country should help yours when an internal disaster happens? Your brain must be made of shit. And no respect is returned because you're not helping other countries. You're helping a priveleged minority hold power. Why does Amedinejad give America the shits? Because they supported the Persian shah (YES, your "democracy" supported several dictators in its history) and Amedinejad's revolution gave oil money to the people.
Vulfi93: the CIA has been that cause of many problems in the US and around the world and many citizens are uninformed about this. I dont agree with what they have done but I certainly don't agree Amedinejad's gov't shutting down telecom so that protesters can't unite.... that's just a sample of the tyrant he is.
Also, do you know why America loved Boris Yeltsin and not Bad Vlad Putin? Because Yeltsin gave in and let them take over his country. They de-socialized the mines and oil fields, and workers got wage drops of 10-40% (I know a guy from Russia). Then Putin (humanity bless him!) socialized the mines and fields, and workers earned more. He also threw out foreign companies. This gave America the shits even more than Amedinejad's socializations. So, freedom of the people and a nation = a big - for USA
and actually saying we ONLY do it to be recognized is a false statement because how much do you think taking in thousands of immigrants helps us? it doesn't, it helps them. so FUCK OFF.
The taxpayers money is what helps fund these humanitarian missions.....so fuck yes i want to be recognized for helping a country that i have never visited. I have never heard anyone where i live complain about there money being spent to help the less fortunate.
What we get in return is the ability to shape our own environment. For example, the corporation Google lobbies for net neutrality: not only is it something that most people think is necessary to maintain a fair system of information exchange, they are shaping the business environment they operate in for their own good. There's nothing wrong with that...
Whenever I think about how fucked up the US is, I think about how fucked up the rest of the world is and realize that this is the greatest country in the world. Also, you cannot judge a country by its government... i know that is what you are doing, but you can't judge us solely based on George Bush & Obama. If you lived in the greatest country in the world you're head would be a little bigger too. (I do feel however, that we will have to change A LOT to maintain dominance over the next 100 yrs)
You do know greatness is a subjective opinion, right? Ok lets not judge on your country on its government. Britain has something called a National Health Service. If become sick the NHS pays for me to have my treatment free. Does your great country do this?
"The United States has some of the highest relative poverty rates among industrialized countries, reflecting both the high median income and high degree of inequality. In 2000 the United States ranked tenth among sixteen developed countries"
you think i agree with our healthcare system? It's ridiculous. We have a liberal black president with muslim and african names. The closest thing you've had to a minority is the female Regan thatcher.
Once again i'm not saying you agree with it, i'm saying that is bad. I don't think you know very much about how the British political system works. If you did then you wouldn't compare your PRESIDENTIAL elections with our INTERNAL PARTY LEADERSHIP ELECTIONS. They're two VERY different things and work completely differently. I've studied American and British Politics. I know this.
I will defend my country yes, on the basis that it provides a good standard of living for almost everyone who lives here and everyone is allowed to vote in free, fair elections. I will not say my country is the greatest in the world, thats silly. I will not say its better than country x becuase they both have thier good and bad points. I am highly critical of my country and government because that is my job as a citizen, to try to make sure they're doing thier jobs properly.
I WILL say my country is the greatest simply because i'm very nationalistic. Why is that silly? It helps to keep our country unified and equal. Once people can establish common ground, they can start to view each other as equals.
we certainly agree on being very critical of our governments, because that is definately our responsibility as free citizens.
Nationalism is based entirely on opinion. Nationalism doesn't lead to people viewing eachother as equals it leads to the opposite. Nationalists are likely to view people from other countrys as inferior (American exceptionalism). This happened in Nazi Germany (the Nazis were a nationalist Party), Musolinis Italy, Francos Spain, the Rwandan Civil War. I mean nationalism is pretty much the sole reason for the Arab-Isreali wars.
I know. Nationalsozialismus, it says it right in the name.
but it also united all of those countries you just named didn't it? Although it ended up with harsh consequences because the governments were badly extreme. However, our government is not, and wouldn't allow a war solely based on pride, so American nationalism would help to unify Americans, whether it be African-Americans, Latin-Americans, etc...were all American. Thats why it would help.
Yes, at the moment nationalism is fine. But with tragedys nationalism can quickly escalate to Xenophobia (Islamaphobia in particular is a problem at the moment) causing the negatives. I know its a clichéd slippery slope, but it does happen.
You genious, the second spoken language at Microsoft is Romanian, so don`t try to tell us that you americans are better than others, you are native from europe, so we made you who you are.
Americans are just a fucked up nation who think themselves that they are great but if you take in considerations all the aspects I think that Chinese are better than you.
What you've said does not make sense. Many europeon countrys hate you because much of your foreign policy is based around American Exceptionalism (The idea that Americans are "better" than everyone else). Many Arab countrys hate you because you supported Israel against thier wishes. Socialist countrys hate you because you have an embargo on cuba and have assasinated potential socialist leaders. Many countries have very valid reasons to hate America.
Hitler realized that if he wanted to take power and create change for the european races future, he would have to boost his economy and get rid of the weak.... That's well planned leadership? And he had to destroy people who got in the way. Also, back in the days of crusaders, they already lived in natural selection, so people didn't have to be killed off by another. If the person was weak, nature would've taken them... Dredyouall2 - You got owned again.
Europe has done pretty well without Hitlers plan for the "european races". You have a very strange idea of natural selection. In natural selection the strong do not survive universally. The most adaptable survive. I think you have natural selection mixed up with the psudo-science of "eugenics". The reason we have different colours is because we are adaptable, not one is stronger than the other. The reason the dinosaurs died is because they were not adaptable, not because they were weak.
Read a book called "Can Life Prevail" - That guy has gone through fucking hell, and he actually walks the talk against democracy. A beautiful human being and a strong inspiration for many who oppose democracy and this modern civilization for it's ignorant people...
I believe hitler was a great leader. I see no leaders in democracy. I see only the people who hold all the money to cater towards what majority of people want. And they say you have a voice, but remember, the government chooses the electorates.
Hitler lived a pretty cushy life as Fúrer and he definately didn't look after the disabled and ethnic minoritys. He based his country on an expansionist economy, if he hadn't kept expanding it would likely have stagnated. He brought Germany out of an economic crisis, but he also killed millions. I don't know much about Australian politics, but Britian has Atlee (Priminister 1945-1951) who brought in the NHS and a supertax of 95p in the pound, definately not catoring to the majority.
Well, look at it this way. How could we EVER now, unite one country so perfectly that it takes almost every other country in the world to take it down. And victory wasn't even certain for the Allies.
Probably didn't read what I said before. If Hitler didn't enslave, he would be one of the greatest leaders in the world. History is written from the view of the winners, not the losers by the way.
Like I said. You have never seen combat. Words and promises mean nothing when the basic human instincts take over. My brother died defending this country. Some of his friends survived. I have heard the stories they tell. You cannot know the horror of battle. Please do not presume to know anything about this.
My friend, from 4th Infantry Brigade (vaziani) the only survivol of his platton. He came back mentally disordered from 2008 S.Ossetia war. 19 of his friend dies in front of his own eyes from artillery shelling. For two days he was lying with dead bodies wounded, not able to move. With no food....
I don't think he'll ever become normal human again and he admits that he should have been killed as well. I know what you mean but patriots are not as you say. Patriots have instinct of bravery.
This fails...so hard. Democracy is the reformation of the individual? What the F u c k is that supposed to mean? Democracy IS the reformation of the individual? I think the word this dumbass is looking for is Facism. Reformation of the individual...jesus christ the people who made this should be shot.

Let's rule!

Excellent video.

The western world mainly uses the Representative Republic style government, which only borrows a small portion of the democratic process.
trappy77 1 year ago
@trappy77 actually not even Ancient Greece was democratic....but maybe you mean Ancient Athens.....still...Athens had no Democracy....democracy never existed
DemocracyForEveryone 1 year ago
@trappy77 Your first statement is correct. Even in ancient Greece most of the "people" were slaves. But, at least, they knew they were slaves. Kissinger said, "The best form of slavery is one in which the people don't know they're slaves." He was talking about us and this matrix of lies we inhabit. There have been degrees of democracy: but neve a true democracy. When it happens, it will be the shining example for us to follow, because it will be a land of peace, justice and prosperity.
stopdemockery 11 months ago
@stopdemockery You claim that since "true democracy" has never been achieved we can't criticize it. Could it possibly be that "true democracy" has nothing to do with reality and thats why it never can or will be achieved. Due to the fact that humans are inherently incapable of perfection your ideal of "true democracy" will remain nothing more than an ideal.
ImperialRussianGuard 10 months ago
@ImperialRussianGuard ~ Democracy is simply government governed by the governed. It has nothing to do with perfection. It's about acheiving our common goals, like ending war, corruption and this matrix of lies we inhabit. We have many unfulfilled common goals. Let's get those manifested. Then we can worry about manifesting perfection.
The truest form of democracy ever acheived was Venice, which thrived for several centuries with a system that gave weighted votes, more for the royalty.
stopdemockery 10 months ago
@stopdemockery Its interesting that you mention Venice considering it was an aristocratic republic. The Doges were not elected by commoners but by fellow aristocrats. The same case was in Rome and any other republic which had succeeded. From my impression your idea of "true democracy" is essentially Ochlocracy. The only example this has form of " true democracy" in history is Ancient Athens. To say the least the Athenian government was greatly flawed.
ImperialRussianGuard 10 months ago

ChrisSkills 1 year ago
@ChrisSkills Man's not really meant to be civilised. It's ... unnatural.
ZukaZumamee 1 year ago
@ZukaZumamee so you think war is natural?
ChrisSkills 10 months ago
@ZukaZumamee so you think war is natural? You think greed is natural? At this point we're more like a virus or cancer on this planet. It won't change until ALL of us start changing. But then again, that would mean a strenuous effort on an individual level, and from what I've seen peoples egos resist them from steering away from indoctrinated ways. What you speak of as natural is your lifelong conditioning telling you that this is what life has to look like, everything else is just fairytales.
ChrisSkills 10 months ago
@ChrisSkills Don't try to be cute with me. I'm 16, with parents from two cultures that are worlds apart. I can tell when someone's just parroting their cultural "indoctrination," and that's what you're doing. Everyone's seeking an end to war, no one cares about the underlying tensions that are taken advantage of for war.
Ever wonder about the Balkans?
ZukaZumamee 10 months ago
@ZukaZumamee I'm not trying to be nothing, just telling you what I think. If everyone sought peace we would have it. But it's more like, "Peace for me, yes please, but I'll have a piece of yours as well whether you like it or not". Thing is that it doesn't have to be like that, people adapt to this type of system because it's all they've ever seen. We grow up in a destructively competitive system because it's what our parents grew up in, and their parents. But it holds us back as a species.
ChrisSkills 10 months ago
@ChrisSkills True true, I never said our current way of life isn't destructive. I just don't think it's the best idea to create a society where populations can (and will) boom.
ZukaZumamee 10 months ago
@ZukaZumamee Also true. I think a solution to that problem is to eliminate poverty by education and fair play. Its a well known fact that uneducated people generally have more children, and it's insane taken that they tend to be poor already and now get even lesser chanse to stay afloat with more mouths to feed. Education must be substantial and teach people how to think for themselves so that new possibilities are created instead of cattle for industry. There's real potential in each man alive.
ChrisSkills 10 months ago
@ChrisSkills ~ Any sane person would prefer the rule of 51% of his neighbors, rather than the continued rule of the hand full of psychotic inbred bankster families who've manifested all ten of the Planks of the Communist Manifesto in America and most of the developed world and who created all our wars from lies for munitions profits and acquisition of resources and power. They've murdered millions of people, almost destroyed our planet and have been masters of our invisible prison forever.
stopdemockery 10 months ago
@stopdemockery You claim that the people are controlled by the bankers. If that is so isn't that a case against democracy? Essentially you are demonstrating how easily the masses can be controlled. If democracy can be that easily manipulated is it really that good form of government?
ImperialRussianGuard 10 months ago
@ImperialRussianGuard ~ If we'd had democracy over the last few decades, we'd have made policitcal corruption treason, which it is. Any way you look at it, it's not democracy if the people have no power, other than to vote between members of the same rethuglicrat party. We don't rule. We never have. So, there's never been democracy, regardless of how you twist my words. This conversation is pointless and over.
stopdemockery 10 months ago
@ImperialRussianGuard ~ You must understand that there has never been a democracy on Earth, yet. That's where your thinking went wrong. Just because the banksters call their mock-democracy (demockery) democracy doesn't make it so. The people have never ruled anything at all. Our wil has always been repressed.
stopdemockery 10 months ago

As long as we play by their rules, we accept them.

democracy comes with war? NO. democracy has come to defend those in war. look at korea. vietnam. they wanted the help of a true nation, and they got the help. instead of being beheaded , raped and destroyed, they were saved from their socialist enemies.
now, many years later, look at south korea, a free and democratic nation, compare it to north, their nuclear brothers may very well destroy all of us.
CHIRPACHEE 2 years ago
i'm sorry did you say vietnam? now i've never really had a problem with extremists like yourself, (you guys have your moments) but vietnam was one large clusterfuck of a war. and you are right about (south) korea, just don't talk about vietnam like you know exactly what happened.
MsSkyeFly 2 years ago
@CHIRPACHEE ~ You can't blame war on democracy. Take a vote. The people only want peace, justice and prosperity. Don't you? Does anyone you know want less? But, the banksters, Our illegal owners, control the media, which validates their matrix of lies. Truly, when a mother signs the bith application, she has given her child to the state as its property. That's the kind of treachery we can expect with their demockery. It mocks the concept of democracy. Certificate = title of ownership.
stopdemockery 10 months ago
@stopdemockery Yes we can. I will bring up the example of the Athenian war on Syracuse to demonstrate it. The Athenian uneducated mass greatly supported a war against Syracuse even though Nicias warned about the consequences of such an action. To say the least it was a military disasters which ended with the Spartan army entering Athens. War for the sake of War is a democratic feature,as a populistic wish to please the angry and decadent pleas of the mob.

Problem solved, if only people didn't have fear or were against murder. There hasn't been a notable true democracy since Ancient Athens. In a true democracy, the people directly vote on the individual decisions of it's government. It doesn't work on a scale larger than a small city-state like that. America, like most developed nations, is a democratic republic.
GlobalDuty 2 years ago
There are indirect democracies and direct democracies. You are right, a direct democracy is too slow for anything to get done, which is why the United States uses an indirect democracy, which isn't the original, but still a democracy.

Hmm you seem to imply that socialism can't be democratic. Scandinavia - a Good model of Social democratic nations, and they top the UN's human development Index(and has been doing that for quite some time) .
There are many degrees of socialism.
remember that.
Serethen 2 years ago
Anyways my point is that Social Democratic nations tend to have big ass administrations, and have a lot of power in the bureaucracy.
So socialism can have less consentration of power than for example the US model. Socialism doesnt have to be one guy on top.
Serethen 2 years ago
Under our great president who is apologising for being American we are going from democracy to socialisim.
indoorin 2 years ago
Ah yes, Hugo Chavez recently joked that Obama had become more socialist than he and Castro. Of course that isn't in the slightest bit true. Bailing out a bunch of banks and auto companies is not socialist. It's not very "free market," but it's far from socialism.
And remember that socialism is not the antithesis of democracy.
Dangles1989 2 years ago
The government owns most of the banks and auto companies. Those are supposed to be non-governmentally owned. He is taking the American tax payers money and giving it to people who don't work or the abortion clinic's. And he is trying to get all of the big buisnesses governmentally owned. That is socialisim. And socialisim sucks.
indoorin 2 years ago
Hey indoorin, I'll say a few things. I have to admit my knowledge of US politics isn't foolproof (I'm from Australia) but my understanding is that the US govt doesn't actually own the banks. I know it owns a good share of GM but the govt has said that it has no interest in running GM at all and plans to disown it soon. I won't comment on the abortion clinics because I know nothing about their funding. I don't think that the govt is trying to buy big businesses at all. Bailouts are different.
Dangles1989 2 years ago
The government did give them bailouts but then after a while they said enough and bought the companies. And let me just say this about the abortion clinics. The people who run them are not actual doctors. Doctors are supposed to save people not kill them. The tax changes I agree with you about but he's putting the money of people who work for it into peoples' pockets who don't work for it. And welfare states are just sugar coating what it realy is. Sorry but that's my opion.
indoorin 2 years ago 2
Ah I can see that with regards to welfareism, etc, we will never agree and I respect your opinion. But I must object to the idea that the role of the doctor is always to save people rather than kill them. In many cases, doctors justifiably shorten life rather than prolong it. This is, of course, often called euthanasia but it can be more subtle than that (for example, giving a terminal cancer patient in pain morphine, which hastens death). I believe this is right.
Dangles1989 2 years ago
Yes the whole morphine thing does help but that's only if no cure is possible. But abortion is not helping anyone. It's that persons fault for having sex when knowing the consequences. Usualy people who have abortions don't use protection which then leads them to murder an unborn child. If they don't want it put it up for adoption not murder.

TheIronWebRocks 2 years ago
Great point... but how do you suggest we do that? We would have to all collectively turn on "them" at the same time... because otherwise, they would just starve us or quietly execute those who oppose them.
What is your theory on overthrowing "the elite" who control us?
conservativemama09 2 years ago
I know from experience that individuals standing alone against the system will get crushed. There has to be a critical mass of people resisting before it can be effective. Right now I'm just trying to get people to read "The Iron Web" and hopefully shake loose their faith in authority - to effect an invisible revolution in people's minds. Then someday, when one person stands up to resist, millions will follow.
TheIronWebRocks 2 years ago

ACleverName17 2 years ago

That would be terrible.
stuntman7545 2 years ago
Yes, America is a republic. I am a youth and i know that...if you know the definitions of a republic and a democracy, it's pretty easy to see that we are a republic.
Dethkill14 2 years ago
I personally think democracy leads to a media controlled state. Most people are not formulating thier own descisions from information they gain from objective sources; they are being told what to think from subjective media outlets such as fox news. I don't claim to have any solutions. I definately don't live in a republic, I'm British. You live in a democratically elected republic yes.
dredyouall2 2 years ago
So what would you rather have? a communist state? Because that worked out so well for the Soviet Union... I would agree there are some dipshits who base their voting and decisions off of the bullshit media, but saying that MOST do is a very bold statement. This is the reason why retard Obama got elected into office, because he could give good speeches and appeal to people, not because of his actual presidential ideas.
Dethkill14 2 years ago
I'm afraid i'm not interested in getting into an arguement with you about "which political state I would rather have". Fact of the matter is you don't appear to have enough experience of the world to understand what works and what doesn't. Most people in this world do not make thier own descisions. Secular voting is very rare, most people are either inflenced by the media or thier parents. Obama is slightly different yes, but in america you have red, blue and swing states similar to england yes?
dredyouall2 2 years ago
hahahahaha so because i'm 'young' i don't have enough experience? I have a degree in liberal arts and got accepted into a graduate school for next year but i guess thats not enough experience in the subject. strange.
I know parents and the media influence decisions, but it doesnt influence everyone's decisions. secular voting is very rare but still exists, and America, i believe, actually has alot of people who don't take influence from the biased propaganda they get from parents and the media.
Dethkill14 2 years ago

He's the modern idol for someone who actually strived.
dougymoo 2 years ago

We must look at the facts, regardless of how many people they hurt who support democracy.
dougymoo 2 years ago
It is a culture of men, women, children, all sharing the same collective idea. "Look to the sky when all else fails"... They had a fucking huge effect on germanies culture. Jews also came from the east. Didn't we hate muslims once? Another good point - The spanish slaughtered the aztecs, the australians slaughtered the aborigine's. Germany is not the only country with blood on their hands. We all do what we do to protect ourselves. Just like humans destroying the earth for material comfort.
dougymoo 2 years ago
Very few cultures have no blood on thier hands. However a lot of this occurs when under autocratic or semi autocratic rule. The pogroms under Russian Tsars, Holocaust under Hitler, Spanish under thier kings/queens. None of that was to "protect" thier homeland, it was based on superstition and fear. In the Crusades, the leaders of the crusaders and muslims respected each other as adversarys. Hitler did not respect the Jews. The destruction is a result of capitalism not democracy.
dredyouall2 2 years ago
And they call it muslim for a reason dude. Because it's a belief. That's a supersticion. That's what hitler feared. He feared people who believe things, because it had a big effect on how politics went in germany. Look at america ffs - A Doctor just got shot because some christian doesn't believe in Abortion. CULTURES HAVE A BIG EFFECT ON SOCIETY. That's why the catholics, christians, etc are going nuts about abortion in america. How can you listen to everyone in democracy? lolz. OWNED! :D
dougymoo 2 years ago
Hitler wanted to kill people on grounds of race (he wanted to kill semites, not just jews) not on groudns of religion. I'm not a religious person and I think secular states are very important. Culture is different to religion and it must be assimilated in order to create a socitty. Alexander the Great did it. The Romans did it. So why cant we?
dredyouall2 2 years ago
And I dare anyone to say that we are not slaves to our government as well. Do we not have laws as well. Laws which save us from cleaning the world of human weakness. Nazi's heiled hitler for a reason. He was a leader to them, in a time when they needed it most. The germans were only protecting themselves from cross-breeding. And please don't say I'm racist. I'm the opposite. But I do know that some races are genetically more strong or smarter than the others. And jews are a race. Not a religion.
dougymoo 2 years ago
Well as product of this "cross breeding" you speak of I can conclude that you're wrong and racist. The myth of racial superiority is passed down through word of mouth, no scientific discovery supports it outright. Yes the Semites are a people, many of them follow Judaeism, but many dont (Chompsky does not, Einstein did not). Genetically, the gene that gives black features is the strongest. However there are clever black people, white people and asian people. Intelligence is not based on "race"
dredyouall2 2 years ago
And I know this. But when I say race and culture, I mean that where we came from, we'd all had our own culture based on our colours. Different coloured and different looking people originally believed in different things. Bringing multiculturalism together was like saying "live in tolerance of others", thus many people lost their individual cultural and skin-coloured society... Life became different, and now, all have to give up ancestors ways for this society, or die. Christian power.
dougymoo 2 years ago
To be honest, Christians, Muslims and Jews worship the same Abrahamic god. They just have been twisted by thier so called leaders to think hes different. Multiculturalism may or may not be something thats achievable, but its something we should aspire to achieve in the least. Either that or an eternity of fighting which is not something that any sane person should want.
dredyouall2 2 years ago
I'm not saying we should start killing people. I'm saying that humans should harden the fuck up, so we no longer run from things that will have big effects upon the human, earth, and animal future. We're just building, building, building to protect our ownselves, forgetting that it destroys our real home - planet earth. So you place your faith in science, or god or whatever, hoping for a cure that's easy to accept. Some diseases can't be fixed... We're parasytes. On the earth, and eating it dry.
dougymoo 2 years ago
I'd like to add another thing - The main reason that people hate hitler is because they're told to. They haven't actually looked at the points behind his research. He killed a lot of people, but our nation kills a lot of people as well. We think we're right, and that religious morality and love is the saviour... We're ignorant to our mass production, and materialistic ways of living life... Hardly anyone looks at the problem face on - How can the earth prevail if modern human lifestyle prevails?
dougymoo 2 years ago
Well I've looked at Hitler, he was a hate filled man. He hated the Jews, the Disabled, the Russians, the Slavs, the French, Black people, asian people. I'm sure there are more. The points behind his reasearch of eugenics have been mostly disproved. He tossaed aside nuclear reasearch because he thought it was "Jewish science". Once again this materialism is a product of capitalism not democracy, it happens under fascism too; I condone neither. Our best bet is a totally new way of living.
dredyouall2 2 years ago
How can any society make a clear choice about a new goal to go towards when so many people have their different cultural contradicting beliefs? The fact is that the only way you can make clear paths is if you get rid of the people who form those beliefs that keep your society from having just one opinion. Different cultures in the past use to charge at eachother with swords, shields, horses, etc. Thats how much they loved standing up for their culture. Are you gonna say they were heartless? Ownd
dougymoo 2 years ago
Ah the classical toss up between the utilitairisn concept of "the greatest happiness for the greatest number" and Herbert Morrisons warning of having people live under the "tyranny of the majority". That is the reason that in western democracys we elect representatives to represent the best interests of the people, not delegates (see Burke). Do you believe the Roman and Greek slaves loved thier culture, or were they forced into it?

Have you ever heard of nationalism? dude, we have big heads because our ancestors earned it.
Yes, we have helped other countries to help ourself, but that doesn't negate the fact that we help them in the first place.
I personally expect nothing in return but a little respect that we can't get from anybody. It's bullshit...
another thing i had a HUGE problem with was the fact that when hurricane Katrina happened, we got basically 0 help from anybody..fuck that.
Dethkill14 2 years ago

Note I was criticising your "great" ancestors, not saying that you in particular agree with what they did.
dredyouall2 2 years ago
You think another country should help yours when an internal disaster happens? Your brain must be made of shit. And no respect is returned because you're not helping other countries. You're helping a priveleged minority hold power. Why does Amedinejad give America the shits? Because they supported the Persian shah (YES, your "democracy" supported several dictators in its history) and Amedinejad's revolution gave oil money to the people.
Vulfi93 2 years ago
Vulfi93: the CIA has been that cause of many problems in the US and around the world and many citizens are uninformed about this. I dont agree with what they have done but I certainly don't agree Amedinejad's gov't shutting down telecom so that protesters can't unite.... that's just a sample of the tyrant he is.
dj504dj 2 years ago
Also, do you know why America loved Boris Yeltsin and not Bad Vlad Putin? Because Yeltsin gave in and let them take over his country. They de-socialized the mines and oil fields, and workers got wage drops of 10-40% (I know a guy from Russia). Then Putin (humanity bless him!) socialized the mines and fields, and workers earned more. He also threw out foreign companies. This gave America the shits even more than Amedinejad's socializations. So, freedom of the people and a nation = a big - for USA

What we get in return is the ability to shape our own environment. For example, the corporation Google lobbies for net neutrality: not only is it something that most people think is necessary to maintain a fair system of information exchange, they are shaping the business environment they operate in for their own good. There's nothing wrong with that...
dj504dj 2 years ago
Whenever I think about how fucked up the US is, I think about how fucked up the rest of the world is and realize that this is the greatest country in the world. Also, you cannot judge a country by its government... i know that is what you are doing, but you can't judge us solely based on George Bush & Obama. If you lived in the greatest country in the world you're head would be a little bigger too. (I do feel however, that we will have to change A LOT to maintain dominance over the next 100 yrs)
dj504dj 2 years ago
You do know greatness is a subjective opinion, right? Ok lets not judge on your country on its government. Britain has something called a National Health Service. If become sick the NHS pays for me to have my treatment free. Does your great country do this?
"The United States has some of the highest relative poverty rates among industrialized countries, reflecting both the high median income and high degree of inequality. In 2000 the United States ranked tenth among sixteen developed countries"
dredyouall2 2 years ago
you think i agree with our healthcare system? It's ridiculous. We have a liberal black president with muslim and african names. The closest thing you've had to a minority is the female Regan thatcher.
dj504dj 2 years ago
Once again i'm not saying you agree with it, i'm saying that is bad. I don't think you know very much about how the British political system works. If you did then you wouldn't compare your PRESIDENTIAL elections with our INTERNAL PARTY LEADERSHIP ELECTIONS. They're two VERY different things and work completely differently. I've studied American and British Politics. I know this.

dred basically what i mean is that we both critisize our own country but defend it as well. we have that in common. no one agrees on every issue
dj504dj 2 years ago
I will defend my country yes, on the basis that it provides a good standard of living for almost everyone who lives here and everyone is allowed to vote in free, fair elections. I will not say my country is the greatest in the world, thats silly. I will not say its better than country x becuase they both have thier good and bad points. I am highly critical of my country and government because that is my job as a citizen, to try to make sure they're doing thier jobs properly.
dredyouall2 2 years ago
I WILL say my country is the greatest simply because i'm very nationalistic. Why is that silly? It helps to keep our country unified and equal. Once people can establish common ground, they can start to view each other as equals.
we certainly agree on being very critical of our governments, because that is definately our responsibility as free citizens.
Dethkill14 2 years ago
Nationalism is based entirely on opinion. Nationalism doesn't lead to people viewing eachother as equals it leads to the opposite. Nationalists are likely to view people from other countrys as inferior (American exceptionalism). This happened in Nazi Germany (the Nazis were a nationalist Party), Musolinis Italy, Francos Spain, the Rwandan Civil War. I mean nationalism is pretty much the sole reason for the Arab-Isreali wars.
dredyouall2 2 years ago 2
"the Nazis were a nationalist Party".
Dethkill14 2 years ago
Yes, at the moment nationalism is fine. But with tragedys nationalism can quickly escalate to Xenophobia (Islamaphobia in particular is a problem at the moment) causing the negatives. I know its a clichéd slippery slope, but it does happen.
dredyouall2 2 years ago
Yes, it does, but as long as we all don't turn into social darwinists(other than in business), i think it'll be fine.

aalleexxblog 2 years ago
What you've said does not make sense. Many europeon countrys hate you because much of your foreign policy is based around American Exceptionalism (The idea that Americans are "better" than everyone else). Many Arab countrys hate you because you supported Israel against thier wishes. Socialist countrys hate you because you have an embargo on cuba and have assasinated potential socialist leaders. Many countries have very valid reasons to hate America.
dredyouall2 2 years ago
Hitler realized that if he wanted to take power and create change for the european races future, he would have to boost his economy and get rid of the weak.... That's well planned leadership? And he had to destroy people who got in the way. Also, back in the days of crusaders, they already lived in natural selection, so people didn't have to be killed off by another. If the person was weak, nature would've taken them... Dredyouall2 - You got owned again.
dougymoo 2 years ago
Europe has done pretty well without Hitlers plan for the "european races". You have a very strange idea of natural selection. In natural selection the strong do not survive universally. The most adaptable survive. I think you have natural selection mixed up with the psudo-science of "eugenics". The reason we have different colours is because we are adaptable, not one is stronger than the other. The reason the dinosaurs died is because they were not adaptable, not because they were weak.

What I know is that, in democratic nations, when the person signs up for an army, he's required to sign an oath. Which states :
"I'll be prepared to die for my country and its interests"
It is his/her choice to sign it, he has right not to sign it.
But once he/she signs the oath, he should not run around and scream like the guy in video.
there is difference between taking call of duty "Cowardly" and taking it "bravely"
