Just a word of advice, you were saying you have lost a few, so like you said it could have been the mouths of the fish, but i have found that korda hooks are terrible and not all of the in the pack are sharp, about 6 out of 10 are sharp and the go blunt very easyly. Im on Nash Fang Uni And Twistors now and rarely pull out of any fish. there abit more expensive but whats £2 to have sharp hooks and not pull out of fish. Nothing. Well Done on your first 20 mate! Tight lines.

Nice one Joe, Congrats on your first 20 :) How big do they get upto in your lake? definately agree with you on the hook holds in their mouth, its a shame :( was the disease just in mirrors as your common was in really good nic. :) Tight lines.

@CarefulCarping I'm not sure of the ins and outs of the disease but i know heaps and heaps of them died And thanks. :) Ive heard they go up to 30lb from one person then someone else said 24 and a half. Either way some nice fish in there and just a handful of twentys. :D

@nuffinbutfishing Even more of a congratualtions if there is only a handful of twentys. even more of an sucess than a lake full of twenty's, looks a nice and quiet lake. Keep it up, hopfully you find the 24 1/2 or the 30 :P

ive got a lake like that near me where the fish have really damaged mouths and now ive stepped up to a bigger hook i have been losing alot less fish. ive been using a size 6 on mid-doubles to mid 20's so the same sort of size fish as youve been catching

The lake record at Newton Park is 30lb. Theres a picture on the Bathampton Angling Association website. Dark picture though but says 30lb and a lake record!

@2footfish Wychwood rage VT's mate. not sure of the price now though. There are 3 in the range. the V's, VT's and VTS's. Volume, Tone and sensitivity.

Well done on the 20lber ,its been a long time coming .I remember my first 20 and then i had 4 20lb+ fish all in one week.Like buses as they say.
