  • "..it's a bit of a lolly scramble..." - it's painful that it's so funny, because it's absolutely true.

  • is this a joke or not..?

  • @xxxxpallixxxx You retard

  • Very clever comedians. However, this would be a whole lot funnier if it wasn't so close to the truth. :(

  • with all our free time we could start to understand the complexity of the issues the politicians use to push our buttons with... ... but no we like to do other things ... ... football anyone?

  • After 4 years I only just got the joke about St Paul seeing the light on the road to Damascus. You think you know their humour after a decade and they can still throw the dummy leaving you scratching your head wondering where the ball has gone.

  • @xxxxpallixxxx You retard.

  • security reason LOL

  • @0:51 The plan has always been, Brian, to bring peace and democracy to the troubled area of -- wherever it is. Yea...

  • The look of Glee on John clarke's face as he says, "Bryan agrees" is just priceless. How these guys come up with one of these week in week out is beyond me.

  • Lolly scramble.

  • LOL

    -no, the real reason

    -oh, oil

-no i mean the official reason

-ah, to bring peace and democracy

-oh yeah thats the one i was looking for

  • Silly me, I thought the real reason was Israel. My bad.

  • Aye

  • Anyone who thinks these interviews are real clearly has never seen British or Australian comedy, because to me, this is as much a serious interview as Monty Python is a Ken Burns documentary.

  • @madlutist it's not a uniquely British or Australian sense of humour, it's satire, which has been done the world over since ancient Greece.

  • @ecclesiasticous No; I think I know what he's saying. American humor is different from British humor, more in tone than in overall form. In America, there's just more emphasis on low-brow comedy - slapstick, etc. with little real intelligent content. British/Australian humor, at least in my experience, tends to be more understated and more intelligent. I prefer it.

And of course, I'm generalizing. But that's the gist of it.

  • @BenMcCormack91 I live in the US. I would normally be appalled at such an insult, but the fact that you are correct prevents me from grabbed my Indignant Stick and hitting you with you across the Internet, sir.

You see, we've embraced multiculturalism so well here in the States, that I'm afraid we've had to "dumb down" our comedy. Now, if you're an individual who sees himself as a comedian, you need only master the word "fuck" and be able to explain sexual functions with a smile on your face.

  • @Boogra To be fair, it wouldn't be an insult; haha - I live here as well.

I guess the issue is that comedians need to have more faith in the idea that comic ideas done intelligently will accumulate an audience. Appealing to every person isn't really feasible, and adjusting for the assumption that people are poorly informed is like adjusting a school curriculum to the pace of the slowest student.

  • @BenMcCormack91 "adjusting a school curriculum to the pace of the slowest student"

    Hang on a sec........

  • "... of course you are." Priceless.

  • I love it when Brian agrees!

  • i want a gadget spoon.

  • @mitchTwitch I'm afraid only girls can play with the gadget spoon.

  • I don't much like this one.

  • lol!

  • Looks like we've all been paying attention......That can only lead to less freedom!

  • CRAZY

  • C: ...the real reason

    D: oil

    C: no, the 'official' reason

D: oh...to bring peace and democracy

    just perfect

  • the most shocking thing of all is this was uploade 4 years ago and its still true today.

  • @68000cpu yep, very sad isn't it :(

  • @68000cpu Even moreso when you substitute 'Afghanistan' for 'Iraq' and 'lithium' for 'oil'.

  • @qix77 thank you. you have been imsinformed, there is heaps of evidence out there.I have seen pictures and have seen interviews of soldiers on the oil fields in both war zones, they have explaned they are getting the oil and building lines and it is paying for the war and coming back to america. The companys that where helping where also had members of the bush era in there past as part of those company. This information is not hard to find,It IS fact.

  • try this on the coalition of the willing are all contractors employed by rich saudi families to obtain/defend their assets. I have no proof just a hunch

  • @qix77 It's not hard to see pictures of americans working on oil fields in the middle east where you are at war and all your leaders at the time where oil barons and familys,it's not hard to put that together, you must be pretty blind.I've seen soldiers depending oil wells on docos and the information is out there.

  • fuck, all they want is oil >.> greedy basterds....

  • nigger

  • @qix77 Sadly, the fact is that no matter what the war was pointless. It WAS a war for oil... and it went badly.

Also, there was other much more political factors at play... nothing to do with actual Nuclear Weapons.

  • LOOOOL nicely done

  • Checkout the new song 'Spilling Our Blood For War' on Youtube.

  • @40390576 Yeah because I want to. America is awesome, you can do anything there

  • Very funny segments discussing very important issues with a twist.

    .

    Classic!

  • @shazzbot007 How am I stupid? He was the one spazzing out. You're the stupid one for being in denial of it for no reason. Get a sense of humor or just go fuck yourself.

  • @shazzbot007 Nope.

  • Military strategy? Military strategy!

Are you aware I'm a doctor?!

    Haha brilliant!

  • This guy is a nut.

  • how the hell do they keep straight faces!!!!!

  • Haha. Who the hell does he keep talking to? The minister of speeches?

  • genius

  • very funny - reminds me a bit of bird and fortune over in the uk

  • "the plan has always been to bring peace to the...whatever that place is..."

  • Lmfao sad but true, the humor makes it bearable though

  • lol.

but seriously, the axis of evil is only those countries that do not allow a rothschild central bank to enslave their people.

the money masters film is a good place to start.

  • Haha these two guys rule!

  • a lollygrab, hahahaha

  • this is brilliant

  • This is the interview between the Australian Prime minister and one of the best interviewer's in australia.

  • @ihaveairlockers its also satire, i hope you get that.

  • @almostunimportant

    arh, yes. I get it.

I'm an aussie mate... i work for the ABC and i know who these 2 comedians are.

    Thank you :o)

  • hilarious.

  • Who are these guys? This is fantastic

  • john Clarke and Brian Dawe

  • Absolutely genius.

    Brian agrees LMAO.

  • o.o..

  • The road to Damascus where they'll talk to Saint Paul. (1:50)

    I almost cracked a rib! :D

  • the real resason....oil?

nah my mistake the official reason.....ah peace and democracy.

  • That's the one

  • 'of course you are' LOL

  • brian agrees

  • why the fuck do dickheads keep asking "is this real?"

  • 1. Because these guys are so damned convincing and

    2. Because the actual situation is ACTUALLY this ridiculous :L

Clarke and Dawe are bloody class...

  • @gogogadgetspoon (with such a chuffed look on his face) Brian agrees

  • @gogogadgetspoon well yeah it doesn't have to be overly convincing.

its the same things the official people say.

  • @mitchTwitch ...yes, that is pretty much the point I was making...

  • God Christ these are funny.

  • No you see it died of old age.

  • whereever it is

  • No quesiton there. Congress runs the country; the Executive Branch has policy-making and veto powers. However, policy is strong. Executive orders, you know...I believe that's how we got into Vietnam - no "advise and consent" from Congress on that issue. A "non" war - undeclared.

  • lol! the reason we're in iraq- WMD, no no no, the "real" reason- oil, no my mistake, the offical reason - democracy XD

  • OBAMA WON!!!

  • WAT

  • what biden, a senate member for over 40 years? As opposed to palin, a senate member(!?) for about four years? palin would have trouble knowing where damascus is!

  • Um. Palin is governor of Alaska... not a senator. So Sarah Palin, a senator for 0 years? This is why Obama was elected, because of misinformed ignorant jerks like you.

  • well, it's a petty. every one will see that no change at all would happen!

  • Mccain was a great senator in the 90's, but it seems like he's becoming senile ( he is 65 after all) and had a good chance of dying in office, leaving Palin as president. I voted for Obama because he's consistently worked for the people and he's not a republican.

  • mccain=23 DAYS in office before he dies (if he was elected)

  • I believe Biden was Senator for 36 years? Palin, at the time she began running as VP on the Republican ticket, had been Governor of Alaska for 18 months. Prior to that, she had been Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, population 8,000+. She surely would have trouble knowing where Damascus is. She thought Africa was a country. However, she was aware that Russia is nearby Alaska, along with Canada. That's what gave her foreign affairs experience.(?) Astounding.

  • yes but her front hasn't fallen off and that's a good thing.

  • Well done.

  • cms20024, you have no clue. Obama is brlliant; Biden is very smart, honest and steady. Love them both. McCain is old and infirmed (not to mention a war monger) and the prospect of Palin as VP or President just chills the brain.

  • Obama is so brilliant that he brought in Rubin from Citigroup to help on the economy. Biden is smart? How fricking delusional are you? Mr. I watched the fireside chat on television is the stupidest man in DC, and has been for 36 years. Get back on your meds.

  • It's like a Sara Palin interview, awesome.

  • and all WE get in the US of A is "More Cowbell!" ... we need more of this kind of humor. I love it!!

  • and all WE get in the US of A is "More Cowbell!" ... we need more of this kind of humor. I love it!!

  • Too bad he wasn't born in the United States, he clearly has enough foriegn policy skills to be President!

  • Maybe sometime you would realize just how pointless the war in Iraq is. People dying for no apparent reason. This is just meant to be funny and make fun of the people who are in charge of the Iraq war since they have no clue what the hell is going on.

  • Are you for real????

Self governance for the first time?

You are mega ignorant. First read up on Iraq's history. It was a western creation early mid last century. The west put a saudi on the throne (Faisal) and put the people of 'mesopotamia' under his rule. Saddam also had CIA assitance in getting into power in the first place. Unfortunately, because of our meddling, it's all turned to shit and there's no way of letting the place run on it's own without a bloodbath of our own making.

  • No they're not for real :P its a comedy show on ABC in Australia ;)

  • Like Kennedy said: "its their war, they have to win it or loose it" -- "THEY" killed him for saying that...

  • A bit of a lollyscramble?! That's a great word.

  • There are whole lot more great words and phrases from the southern antipodes. Been on a few lollyscrambles myself in my younger days...

  • But, what exactly does Lollyscramble mean? or about what it means? closest meaning possible?

  • Lolly is Australian for candy, so imagine a bunch of kids scrambling to get some candy.

  • rtgypsie basically said it. At a child birthday party someone will throw a handfull of lollies (candy) and the kids will scramble about gathering them all up - obviously they want to get as many as possible so mayhem occurs.

  • OOOHHH!!!! Now i get it! Thank you very much. And thank you too, rtgypsie.

  • "Brian agrees!"

    ;D

  • and who is brown?

  • i got it.. bryan! what an accent!

  • The Prime Minister of Britain...where have you been?

  • Is this guy drunk!?

  • No, no. Hell no!

  • Love these guys.

The real reason, no the official reason...

    Spot on.

  • Brilliant! I know nothing about the man he is protraying, but it's pure politician. I loved these guys in "The Games". Where are those clips?

  • "I'm the Defense Minister."

    "Yes, you are."

    "Bryan agrees!"

  • Too bad they didn't work with Monty Python, that'd be great.

  • this is awesome, and for those who cant understand this, thats what makes it extra funny

  • YES god

  • "Bryan makes a very good point. Weren't they the Axis of evil?"

I love how he starts arguing against his own convictions with someone off screen.

  • has anyone got the 21st birthday one?...by Fred Dagg...

  • fair calls :)

  • dude i wish i knew wtf is going on....

  • dude, how apt is your nick.

so anyway, these guys are two comedians who do a short segment every Thursday night on the 7.30 Report, a current affairs program on Australia's national broadcaster. brian is always a journalist but john clarke, the silver haired guy, plays a politician from the government - in this case, the Defence Minister, who was widely regarded as having no idea what he was doing, before his party was voted out of government in November last year.

  • ...the very significant and important reasons we went in there in the first place. - Weapons of mass destruction?

No, no, I mean the *real* reason. - Oil?

No sorry, my mistake. I mean the official reason. - To bring peace and democracy to the region?

That's the one I was looking for!

  • its a joke

  • it is a comedy show! they are funny fuckers, but seriously this is no joke

  • Yes, your right -- the are spot-on with polictical analysis!

Liberals will never get back in with Nelson leading the party!

  • Yeah I don't know about that skit. I think it made Brenden Nelson look smarter and independent than he really is.

  • i love that "bryan agrees" haha

  • oh that was the best one

  • The voice of Wal Footrot - a forgotten fact.... Everything he does is brilliant. You barely need to watch it.

  • geeze i love u guys

  • haha awesome

    thanks heaps for sharing!

  • It's so good! Especially with his spinsters

  • I wish I could find some footage of in his NZ days as Fred Dag

  • Syria and Iran? o_O

  • John Clarke is really good

  • Thanks for posting this.

  • amen

  • Thank you so much for posting these.

  • Love it. Thanks for posting it.
