@purplemonkeyelephant Yeah you can only get a little, you drain it but 10% of the fluid still remains inside, then you get it again, you drain it and 10% still remains. And over time you get a lot and the only way to fix it is to surgically open the skin and take out the stuff, then stitch the skin together again. Dan Henderson says so.

That sucks dude, I have a tiny little area on my ear. For those that are wondering, it is a permanent condition. It happens when the skin is pulled away from the cartilage, causing the cartilage to die. Thus, infection swells within the ear every day, or like mine about once a week. Good luck with it!

I pick my syringe up at the local pharmacy. They are dirt cheap. I get the ones for diabetics. After I drain, I use swimmers ear wax to push into that spot. If you dont apply pressure on it for a day or two, the skin will detach again. Works like a charm.

@djeikop it happens when a shearing force is exerted on the ear, tearing it from the cartilage. The area between the skin and the cartilage fills with fluid, which then hardens... It has happened to me from a punch to the ear, and also from pulling my head from a guillotine choke... So, yeah, it could happen from one fight...
