could someone explain to me why people dislike hayden christensen? he had the perfect face for it. he had that good guy face and that evil guy face and i thought he could act but someone please explain it to me. im about to watch all 6
@dudewild his voice was annoying to me. and i just wasnt convinced watching any of his emotions in the film. he did do a good job (i can admit that) but its super tough when you are with all of these amazing actors and actresses in the movie and such a key role gets out acted. another part was just honestly the script was bad. I know the story was all planned out by george lucas but some of the things said (by anakin) were just garbage.
@dudewild another reason thats more personal for me is that you dont really want anakin to turn to the darkside. he switches sides because hes mad at the jedi order for not making him a master when he was put on the council. He has to understand that he wasn't going to get master just because Palpatine requested he be put on there. Also, the second he gets a secret mission from the Order to spy on palpatine he goes straight to palpatine and pretty much drops the ball on keeping a secret.

So, he couldn't access the Jedi archives that only masters could, if he had been granted the rank of master he could've possibly found some healing art to save padme. He wasn't a "bitch" he was overwhelmed with emotions. The Dark side feeds off of emotion, hence the code of the Sith.
@hulkmeister23 yep, the CGI show is canon according to Lucas, and is basically a re-telling of the cartoon, that's why Grievous is no longer a true Jedi killer in it, Ventress is still alive and all that stuff, still weird cuz he didn't care to re-explain where did Ventress and Grievous come from.

This is the way Anakin should have fallen to the Dark Side in Revenge of the Sith. It was a nice gradual buildup for dramatic effect. I thought in the movie having Palpatine transform into his hideous self took away from Anakin's turn to the Dark Side. The focus should have been on Anakin as it is in this scene, and showing the Jedi faces as Anakin killed Asajj Ventress at the end was a nice touch.
To choose good lights, places, and ryhthm is not hanging on stunts. Jumping on the trees is weakest moment in this scene. The real power is in the slow, and full with waiting moments (like in TESB). Tartakowsky knows, the less may be more than much, but Lucas not.
In prequel he had all chance and money to show his art on film, but he could not repeat the leve of classic trilogy, (Sorry for my wrong english).
@Pmike2345 Great things are only effective in moderation. That's why the lightsaber has lost all meaning since the prequels, they are used in almost every scene whereas in the original trilogy they were only used when they were absolutely necessary. Just an example.

I mean, the fact that Anakin killed someone with rage and hatred was a pretty big moment in his progression to Darth Vader, and that's what makes this episode so important. The way the new CGI series overlooks that is very unrealistic, I think.
@FellFather I agree but I think the CGI version is meant to introduce us to the rest of the Jedi knights and other characters in a depth not seen before,we see characters like Bail Organa take center stage to give us perspective why Princess Leia is so brave and honorable. And Ahsoka's role was meant to develop Anakin's parental instinct as is seen in the return of the jedi when he rescues Luke from the emperor's clutches!!

the 3d version of the clone wars have made a big mistake. In that anakin was a jedi knight with a padawan. However, isn't is so that only when you kill a sith or made the trails you become a jedi? in this animated version, he was promoted to jedi knight status by killing Ventress. you can see at the way his hair is drawned that he is still a padawan. The tiny tail on the back marks this.
I can't believe how epic this entire series was. Like, every episode was just a masterpiece in story-telling and animation, not to mention the sound direction. Was this done by the same studio who made Samurai Jack, it has their style to it all over the place?
@DigitalDecadence Yes same people that did samurai jack. This series started shortly after samurai jack ended. I love this animation and i wish they would have kept it instead of the cgi mess they have now. Samurai jack was one of my all time favorite action cartoons. Fantastic animation great story telling and incredible fight scenes. I don't know if anyone remembers the samurai jack episode where he fought along side the 300 Spartans but i suggest you look it up, it is epic.
@hyperkiller3 I actually don't know, I watched it on Cartoon Network way back when I was in the UK, and I can't say that I followed the exact series number and season, if there was one. Samurai Jack had 4 seasons I believe, and I think this had like, 24 episodes all up. 22-24, somewhere between there I think.

@TheCyberguy101 If you look up this fight, that scream was defined as a Force Scream, which is basically a force wave that impacts the things around you with massive rage and fury. It was used by anakin 3 times, once it collapsed a roof when he screamed Dooku's name in anger

@TFmaster75 not true, they do use the force, but its drastically reduced in how much they use it. Take Mace Windu on Dantoinne from this series. he spends like 2 minutes using just his hands and the force, not like in the final battle between mace and sideous where I don't see a time where he EVER used it in combat. Personally, the BOOK version of that fight was better than the movie.
This is what STAR WARS should have been if Anakin wans't a little flamer like he was portrayed in Episodes 2 and 3. At least they didn't cast Justin Timberlake. That would have made things just a tad gayer.

@banglefaar , Yes, I do agree. ;) I was watching Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith third or fourth time, and to tell the truth, great opening and breathtaking Battle over Coruscant aside, it was little annoying, how all-for-show and cheap it was. For example, just above mentioned Coruscant battle. Why the Hell our beloved Jedi's were making theese dumb flight figures? Or Buzz Droids. What a joke! Idiotic and pointless scene, those missiles were silly. Sometimes simpler means more impressive.
This duel is better than anyone other in the prequel era. It has real SW feeling, maybe beacuse that Tartakowsky is able to directing but Lucas did not.
Lucas cant copy this artistic power in movies and the new CGI series.
@Quarron12 It's only better because, for one, it's Lucas + Tartakowsky. Secondly, it's enormously hard to do half of the stunts and effects already done in the live-action movies, and I highly doubt all of you would be singing praise for anything Star Wars today if Lucas animated the three movies.
It's kind of funny to realize that the best lightsaber fight scenes (as in, not only visually appealing but also no ridiculous twirling pirouettes every 2 seconds) in all of Star Wars actually take place in this series.
They need to put all of the old star wars episodes it much better than the new crap in this one it show anikins dark side more and he hides him being married to Padmay better cause he's more serious in this one
@501stspartan In Clone Wars Volume 7 Ventress survives a shot from a droid magnaguard by going into a Sith trance. She is broken by Obi-Wan and then decides to fly far away from the war, the Republic, and the Sith.
I got lost between the 2 different version of Clone Wars, I though I was going to discover hw he got his scar, I never saw what happened to Asoka either at the end
I like this 3D version better for the following reasons: no ashoka, the battle droids didn't act like dumasses, and there was harley no dialoge just action watching clones storm a planet full of battle droids that were actually deadly

@duderme considering every episode was like five minutes long, it actually didn't. Perhapse if they fleshed out a script... Oh, but knowing Samurai Jack's half hour episodes, all the non fighting would probably just involve 15 minutes of walking montages...

@TheCyberguy101 If you look up this fight, that scream was defined as a Force Scream, which is basically a force wave that impacts the things around you with massive rage and fury. It was used by anakin 3 times, once it collapsed a roof when he screamed Dooku's name in anger

@TFmaster75 not true, they do use the force, but its drastically reduced in how much they use it. Take Mace Windu on Dantoinne from this series. he spends like 2 minutes using just his hands and the force, not like in the final battle between mace and sideous where I don't see a time where he EVER used it in combat. Personally, the BOOK version of that fight was better than the movie.

This is what STAR WARS should have been if Anakin wans't a little flamer like he was portrayed in Episodes 2 and 3. At least they didn't cast Justin Timberlake. That would have made things just a tad gayer.

@LikePhoenixFromAshes On the contrary, that grandpa fight had more emotion and meaning behind it than all of the lightsaber fights in the prequels combined. I'll gladly take grandpa fight over the choreographed fake looking ninja bullshit in the prequels.

@banglefaar , Yes, I do agree. ;) I was watching Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith third or fourth time, and to tell the truth, great opening and breathtaking Battle over Coruscant aside, it was little annoying, how all-for-show and cheap it was. For example, just above mentioned Coruscant battle. Why the Hell our beloved Jedi's were making theese dumb flight figures? Or Buzz Droids. What a joke! Idiotic and pointless scene, those missiles were silly. Sometimes simpler means more impressive.

There was no "hint" of Vader coming through in the last minute. It was a straight up intentional foreshadowing....
He levitates then grips the sith saber with his robot hand for a very symbolic reason.

This duel is better than anyone other in the prequel era. It has real SW feeling, maybe beacuse that Tartakowsky is able to directing but Lucas did not.
Lucas cant copy this artistic power in movies and the new CGI series.

@Quarron12 It's only better because, for one, it's Lucas + Tartakowsky. Secondly, it's enormously hard to do half of the stunts and effects already done in the live-action movies, and I highly doubt all of you would be singing praise for anything Star Wars today if Lucas animated the three movies.

It's kind of funny to realize that the best lightsaber fight scenes (as in, not only visually appealing but also no ridiculous twirling pirouettes every 2 seconds) in all of Star Wars actually take place in this series.

@501stspartan In Clone Wars Volume 7 Ventress survives a shot from a droid magnaguard by going into a Sith trance. She is broken by Obi-Wan and then decides to fly far away from the war, the Republic, and the Sith.

No she survived.
She also faked her death on boz pity to be far away from the jedi,the war and dooku(he got a magna droid to try and kill her).
I read it on wookieepedia(read her artical, you must).

I like this 3D version better for the following reasons: no ashoka, the battle droids didn't act like dumasses, and there was harley no dialoge just action watching clones storm a planet full of battle droids that were actually deadly

I think between 2:25 and 2:31 is one of the sickest parts of this fight, and the slash kick at 4:05 was a mad move, i swear he's gotta be sith already.
