  • he makes it look so easy

  • Homo plata? is that what he said?

  • is he wearing his boxers

  • "yada yada yada blah blah blah.... OMAPLATA."

  • @Hurley5647 Only to BJJ butt kissers that drink the gracie kool-aid that they invented anything.

  • so this is a way of getting a kamura with our legs...but its called omaplata?

  • There is no such thing as "omaplata". It's sankaku-garami. Just like there's no such thing as Gracie "jiu-jitsu" -- it should be called Gracie Judo. Mitsuyo Maeda taught Carlos Gracie "Kano jiu-jitsu" that was renamed Judo by its founder, Jigoro Kano. Maeda couldn't have taught traditional Japanese jiu-jitsu to Carlos Gracie because Maeda never studied it. In fact, he was Kano's most successful ambassador of Judo. Since it's really Judo, let's use the Judo names, shall we?

  • @BloodofPatriots

it doesn't fuckin matter that much. Judo is more for sport anyway now...even though Kodokan judo was the predecessor to Brazilian jiu-jitsu.......jiu-jitsu, like it's medieval counterpart, is made for streetfighting (war)...

  • @AceofDlamonds History and truth always matter. Sport judo is more for sport. Traditional judo is still a "streetfighting" art. Apparently, you don't know the difference. When traditional judo went up against traditional (medieval) jiu-jitsu in the infamous 1886 Tokyo Police Challenge, judo stomped on jiu-jitsu using "shi-ni-ai" (no holds barred) rules.

  • @BloodofPatriots

LOL? I simply said Judo is more for sport now, in the same way kung fu styles are more for sport today. Sure predecessors and a few schools still have knowledge of the 'alive' styles, but it's diminished to the point where jiu-jitsu shows as the traditional "deadly art".

There's nothing wrong with calling Brazilian jiu jitsu, ....Brazilian jiu jitsu.

I fail to see the conclusiveness of such a bout, the techniques and mindset of jiu jitsu and judo aren't worlds apart OK.

  • @AceofDlamonds There is everything wrong with calling it Brazilian "jiu jitsu" -- Maeda was a judoka that never studied jiu jitsu, so therefore he couldn't have taught traditional jiu jitsu to Carlos and Hélio Gracie. What he taught the Gracies was "Kano Jiu Jitsu" which Kano himself renamed "judo". If you don't know that, then you've been lied to by the Gracies.

  • @BloodofPatriots

uuuuh, yea kodokan judo....the original jiu jitsu was a system of grappling, hand 2 hand combat,..... it was later developed into judo, then dozens of forms and versions later, Kodokan Judo..... ==> Brazilian jiu jitsu. In a nutshell.

Your making it way too technical, if K Judo had more ground techniques than other Judo and JJJ styles, why not lash out at that??? Make em change the name? Course not, they all share the same basic principles, it's just modification.

  • @AceofDlamonds You're the one insisting that BJJ is rooted in "medieval" Japanese jiu jitsu when it's not. It's Kano's judo only with more focus on newaza -- the same as Kosen judo. You don't see Kosen judokas referring to their style as Kosen Jiu Jitsu, do you? Because they know it would be historically wrong and arrogant to dishonor judo. Why do you have such a difficult time calling it Brazilian Judo?

  • @BloodofPatriots

Why shouldn't it be? jujutsu basically means "soft art" or "soft technique" if I remember correctly. It was a method of defeating opponents based on joint locks, holds, throws, And strikes, etc.

BJJ is a modified form of Judo, and further....a heavily modified Jujutsu based on the fact that Kano derived from jj.

I don't have much of a problem of calling it BJudo, but you seem to have a very big problem of calling it jiu jitsu?? I think "jiu-jitsu" is fair enough.

  • @BloodofPatriots yes, it should technically be called brazilian or gracie judo. But really, who cares. This is what people call it. BJJ and Gracie JJ = judo but ITS CALLED jiu jitsu. stop bitching.

  • @Winst0ned Technically, I should call your mother a "respectable woman" but instead I think I'll just refer to her as a "whore" because that's what people call her. Names mean things, kid.

  • @BloodofPatriots And pwn in 1..2..3..i was actually enjoying the intellect of that conversation at first lol.good stuff bud,i agree with you though.

  • @BloodofPatriots its just a difference of way or technuique sure it reflects the move from being a military art to a way of life but it can still be called jujitsu it still is soft technuique

  • @l3054 Find a dictionary and look up the word "coherent." Apparently, you need to learn the definition.

  • @BloodofPatriots this is coherent why do you insist on everything having judo terminology martial arts from all over the world have similar movesets because body mechanics dont change according to place sure bjj is descended from judo but its still the same technuique people can call it whatever they want i could start calling the omoplata a roast beef armlock that would sound retarded but i can do that because of freedom of speech you gotta chill out man

  • @l3054 Because Maeda, a judoka, taught Judo, not Jujitsu, to the Gracies and, out of respect to Maeda and the Kodokan, should call its techniques by their original Japanese names. Omoplata does sound retarded. Again, you can call that woman "mother, " I'll call her a "whore" because that's what I want to call her. See the difference? Words mean things, kid.

  • @BloodofPatriots dont be so condecending kid i can call your mom a whore too but i dont act like a child and im not gonna assume your a child though you insult people like one also if theyre trying to teach to brazilians and westerners the japanese names are harder to pronounce the same technuiqes have been around for thousands of years medeival wrestling in europe had the same hip throw jujutsu at the same time had noone owns a move

  • @l3054 It's called a "metaphor." Perhaps you should stop eating gracie shit with a spoon and open a dictionary. The Japanese system of naming techniques is not difficult to master unless you are a retarded three year old with blood poisoning due to eating gracie shit with a spoon.

Oh, that's why you can't say Juji gatame or Kata ha jime. Moron.

  • @BloodofPatriots also you need to come up with some new insults you used the same childish comeback with me that you did to that other guy

  • @l3054 When speaking with retards like you, it's best to repeat oneself.

  • @BloodofPatriots were you molested as a child or something? you are way too angry going around insulting people online because they dont agree with you over something as trivial as name you go around calling peoples moms whores because they call it an omaplata instead of sankaku garami im not the one here whos a retard

  • @l3054 Hmmm... you're projecting your childhood sexual trauma on me now? You should see a psychiatrist about that.

  • @BloodofPatriots also in response to names mean something kid alls names are for is to refer to something it doesnt matter what anyone calls it we all know what technuique is being reffered to

  • @l3054 Then I will refer to your mother as a whore.

  • @BloodofPatriots furthermore kano studied classical jujutsu and developed his own brand of that style and called it judo by your way of thinking he is just as guilty of disrespect as the gracies are

  • @l3054 Kano didn't just study jujitsu and develop his own brand of that style. He did a complete rewrite from the bottom up, adding techniques that didn't yet exist in Japan and taking away techniques he deemed inefficient. There is no way in hell the gracies did as much redefining of Judo as Kano did of Jujitsu. Look at the Kosen Judokas, they've been focusing on newaza for over a century. In fact, 2011 is the 100th anniversary of Sensei "Newaza" Oda getting his shodan from Kano himself.

  • @BloodofPatriots he still took things from jujitsu im not riding the gracies dicks like you think i am what i am saying is youre being extremely ridiculous over something as trivial as a name the name doesnt matter what matters is what the word implies

  • @l3054 Don't even compare what Kano did with what your gracie heroes stole, you idiot. A name is not trivial. You can call your mother "mom," I'll just call her a whore. See how names mean things? It's not the name, it's the disrespect it implies. The gacies invented nothing, not even the newaza focus found in the Kosen schools that practice Judo. You're a gracie dick sucker.

  • @BloodofPatriots no your just a biased bitch who talks big over the internet as for the gracies they didnt really do much i never glorified them at all your just assuming something stupid the same techniques have been around for thousands of years way before gracies and way before kano

  • @l3054 You should wash that sand out of your vagina; it's making you grumpy. Kano systematized those techniques and gave them order and a philosophy. Your gracie heroes just stole his ideas and slapped beaner names on them. Continue licking gracie ass and giving them your money.

  • @BloodofPatriots once again i can tell youre feeling really big over the internet i dont think you get it but youre just being a dumbass real fighters and martial artists dont talk huge shit over the internet you refuse to see the progression of technuique from ancient times to today no matter how tough you are or think you are people are gonna keep training and evolving their martial art no one owns any of this

  • @l3054 Name one thing in BJJ that didn't exist in Judo when Maeda went to Brazil? Just one technique. Go ahead. If you answer "jumping guard," I will laugh at you. I can name several things Kano put into Judo that were not in ju-jitsu: 4-quadrant kuzushi, seiryoku zenyo, kata guruma, uki-goshi, and tsuri-komi-goshi. If the gracie's called their system "Gracie Judo," there wouldn't be a problem since they would be showing respect to Maeda and Kano. Russian Sambo doesn't hide its Judo roots at all

  • @BloodofPatriots also there is one thing that wasnt in there and that was rubber guard

  • @l3054 Really? Ever watch old pre-1950's video of Tsunetane Oda? Search YT for "judo ne-waza 3 of 3." At 31 seconds, Oda uses the rubber guard. BJJ'ers and gracie asslickers attribute the rubber guard to Nino Schembri, but he wasn't born until 1974. You got suckered if you believe judokas weren't using the rubber guard long before Schembri or Eddie Bravo were even born. In the same series of videos, Oda also jumps guard, another technique the gracies claim they invented.

  • @BloodofPatriots i doubt they claimed they invented guard i watched that video there was nothing coming close to a high guard he trapped his arm for a second with his leg i never once claimed the gracies invented anything in fact i made sure to mention that the same moves were thousands of years old the exact opposite of what you claim i am saying no matter what i say it isnt good enough for you im not the asslicker here you are your so far up kanos ass you cant see things the way they are

  • @l3054 If that's all you saw, then you have no clue about Oda, Judo, or grappling. Oda used his leg over the back of his opponent to lock him down while in the guard. That's proof the "rubber guard" was used long before BJJ'ers lied and claimed they invented it. Of course there are similar moves in all grappling, but you BJJ asslickers eat the gracie crap that they invented everything. A total lie. Disrespecting Kano and Oda (whom I respect even more) is proof of your gracie asslicking.

  • @BloodofPatriots this whole time youve made it sound like everyone else has to think the exact same way you do and youre extremely disrespectful to anyone who disagrees noone owns these moves or their names they far outdate ours and kanos birth if you truly do know so much about martial arts then youd be more respectful more mature dont call me the kid when youre acting like one the ironic thing is i love judo and use alot of those moves but i practice other arts too your just too close minded

  • @l3054 All bjj'er have to do is admit their teachers are liars and never invented a damn thing. All moves in current bjj were being done by Kano and Oda 100 years ago. The prove is there. You disrespected Kano. You could no more love judo than you could stop licking gracie ass. Fuck you, you lying piece of shit.

  • @BloodofPatriots once again instead of having a respectful debate you have to insult me again cause i dont agree with you completely instead of just blindly insulting me maybe you could try and look at it from another point of view i doubt youl do this i doubt youl even listen to me the rubber guard and the whole system of technuiqes wasnt there just how judo has a double leg but it still isnt wrestling noone owns these moves you dont even know if i even practice bjj i train in many different

  • @BloodofPatriots styles of wrestling also my last gym was a judo dojo and other forms of grappling one of my friends i train with alot does sambo and others i know do practice bjj i dont really care where it came from as long as it works youre getting too fixated on pointless titles that dont mean anything we need to try and keep moving forward respectfully honoring the teachers of the past but not clinging to pointless tradition for no reason

  • @BloodofPatriots i dont train pure bjj alot of other styles as well dont just blindly assume things you dont know i dont train under a gracie

  • @l3054 Then don't rush in like a gracie ass licker defending their thievery and total disrespect of Maeda and Kano. If you act like a gracie ass licker then you'll be treated like a gracie ass licker.

  • @BloodofPatriots its not that they hid the truth but i really dont care theyve lost their honor and willingness to fight and prove themselves but the main point im making is that you shouldnt be so biased and extremist theres always more than just two viewpoints on most things when you pick a side and stop thinking for yourself you begin to make blind assumptions that are almost never true

  • @l3054 The gracies absolutely hide the truth. The gracies are thieves and by defending that thievery you lick their asses. Go away.

  • @BloodofPatriots youre right i guess i should just accept your all knowing mind youre right and everyone else has to beleive exactly what you beleive thats what freedoms all about youre also the one who went back in time and you invented martial arts so everyone else has to ask first before they can even step foot into a dojo

  • @l3054 The truth is the truth. The gracies didn't invent anything. Kano systematized Judo and sent ambassadors around the world to teach his new style of martial art and philosophy to the world. Only in South America did the spics steal it, slap a new name on it and call it their own invention.

  • @BloodofPatriots i just addmited your right and you still wanna argue i dont care about the gracies theyre worthless shitheads there now can you leave it alone

  • @l3054 No refer to it as "Brazilian Judo" instead of BJJ. :)

  • @BloodofPatriots no fuck off il take technuiqes from any style i want and call them whatever i want and il call it "generic grappling" if i feel like it

  • @BloodofPatriots what is it with you and ass licking youre a weird ass angry person and even though he was controlling with his leg that doesnt automatically make it rubber guard there are alot of moves you can go to from there and some of them werent used by kano or gracies you need to learn more about technuiques from other styles

  • @l3054 It's difficult to understand anything you say with your face buried in Helio's ass. Kano and Oda were doing every single technique found in bjj a hundred years ago. 2011 is the 100th anniversary of Kano awarding Oda his shodan.

Give credit where it's due. bjj = Basically Just Judo.

  • @BloodofPatriots i even called the gracies worthless shitheads and you still think im biased nino shcembri may have used a high guard but eddie bravo developed a whole system for it and some new moves martial arts are always gonna evolve the gracies just helped to popularize grappling more in the west i never claimed they invented anything like i said jujutsu has been around thousands of years im tired of this your just a disrespectful narrowminded asshole and im tired of this

  • @l3054 You don't give Kano and Oda the respect they deserved, the respect they've earned. Eddie Bravo isn't even near the same level as Kano and Oda. Millions learn Judo. 10th Planet won't be on that level for 50 years, if ever. Go lick gracie ass, you idiot that can't tell the difference between Judo and Judo-with-spic-names-so-idiots-like-you-will-lick-gracie-ass.

  • @BloodofPatriots whatever you say you cant tell the future you dont know what direction they will go theyve only been around for 7 years judo has for a long time jujutsu even longer i do respect them but there are others who contribute to martials arts too i dont really know how toend thiswithout giving you the last word so i guess i will i dont see why youre so angry about something trivial theresprobably more there than meets the eye but your a dick and i dont care so you can be xenophobic and

  • @l3054 Devote 20 years to a martial art, then have it stolen by a bunch of spics, then see if you think its trivial. Go lick gracie asshole, moron. They've already stolen your money.

  • @BloodofPatriots disrespectful i really dont care but im gonna go train with real martial artists ones who are respectful and realize theres more than one art out there ones who know we all share the same warrior spirit you and all your closeminded butt buddies can go lick each others buttholes since thats what always seems to be on your mind

  • @l3054 Translation: You will go lick gracie ass as you always have. It's not BJJ, it's JUDO. Idiot.

  • @BloodofPatriots your so angry please just stop this i dont care i dont even practice bjj but because im not like you youre freaking out go get some midol for your period and leave me alone also whats this fixation you have with asshole licking? is it some kind of weird fetish you have or are you just not smart enough to come up with something new

  • @l3054 Who's angry? I know the truth and you lick gracie ass. Continue spending your money on Judo with spic names. Now go wash the sand out of your vagina, princess, it's making you grumpy.

  • @BloodofPatriots your the one who keeps accusing me of asslicking i merely suggested that its ok for the same move to have different names and you went on a huge tirade about spics and asshole licking whatever i say your just gonna keep being disrespectful your not making bjj look bad your making judoka look disrespectful

  • @l3054 Its not okay for the same move to have different names when it came from the same system and the only reason the damn spics changed it was so morons like you would pay them money for their lies. We still call a certain kind of math "algebra" even if you learn it in different countries don't you? It's still Judo, regardless if spics changed the names.

  • @BloodofPatriots you assume im angry i was just trying to have a respectful conversation about martial arts and you go off on vaginas and asshole licking lots and lots of asshole licking i still dont understand that fixation you have that no matter what i say it always somehow comes back to licking assholes

  • @l3054 You are a fool that gives your money to lying spics. It's Judo.

  • @BloodofPatriots "There are people who are excitable by nature and allow themselves to become angry for the most trivial of reasons "

    Jigoro Kano- 1882

  • @l3054 And we call these people "gracie asslickers" that get all sandy-vagina'd when their gullibility is exposed.

  • @BloodofPatriots ive told you many times what styles i train you seem to have this mindset of either youre with me or against me and its whatever people call it in a thousand years it might be called something completely different but the moves will still be the same you still havent explained your weird fascination with asshole licking i dont know if thats some weird fetish you have or if youre just too stupid to think of anything else but im sure asslicking will be somewhere in your response

  • @l3054 It's not a "thousand" years, it's not even 100 years since Maeda went to Brazil. He didn't teach the gracies (or the machados) "ju-jitsu." Maeda never learned Ju Jitsu. He taught them Judo. They changed the names so they could rip off idiots like you. Continue being the bitch of the lying spics, you worthless McDojo idiot.

  • @BloodofPatriots thank you very much for your respectful reply i wasnt talking about that youre obviously not listening to me i said that in a thousand years meaning a thousand years from now obviously people will probly still be training with the same moves just like they did a thousand years in the past from now of course the names will change but the style will still be there you keep making these huge assumptions about me even though you dont even know me if im somehow licking gracie asshole

  • @l3054 Gracie asslicker posts what?

  • @BloodofPatriots i feel stupid responding but i was exactly right straight back to asslicking somehow it always comes back to that you seem to be a really unbalanced person

  • @BloodofPatriots then your riding kanos shaft go smoke some weed or something chill out and look at this without your huge amount of bias and maybe youl see what im getting at even though i said i have great respect for kano and called all gracies worthless shitheads just to please you its not enough youre not a real martial artist youre not one at all your just a disrespectful asshole whos probly never had any humility beat into him

  • @l3054 Gracie asslicker posts what?

  • @BloodofPatriots

Youre STILL hating on the Gracies, I see! LOL

Chill with the hate my friend. The Gracies are awesome.

  • @SkemeKOS The gracies are thieving spics. Nothing more. Look at them get their asses kicked all over MMA now.

  • @BloodofPatriots

    Nope.

  • @BloodofPatriots your the one with the sandy vagina sir see there im being respectful and you like a child always reply with insults if anyone here is guilty of what kanos quote says then its you thank you for your "intelligent" debate i think im gonna go lick some assholes now apparently

  • @l3054 The gracies and bjj liars all hide the truth. If they told their students they could learn everything from watching old videos of Oda and Kano, instead of paying thousands for bjj training, they'd lose money. But idiots like you want to lick their asses. It's not "jujitsu." It's Judo. If you want to learn jujitsu, then go find an instructor of real Japanese jujitsu, not the spic-stolen Judo.

  • no sweat for Penn cuz of that insane flexibility -___-

  • this is 1 of the complicated submissions to ever do.... especially if ur a short guy

  • omaplata ftw

  • Flawless Jiu-Jutsu

  • It's not "flawless" just good. Did you see Sensei Royce getting served by Matt Hughes? No martial art is flawless, they're just good, some better than others depending on your level etc.

  • nice man love it !

    Thnx for the video !

  • such a sick move

  • is that the move bj penn was trying to get GSP in when GSP was trying to ground and pound him in there first fight towards the end?

  • i think they called that a jailbreak, or something...not sure tho

  • no man lol. jailbreak is an entirely diff. move. it's an escape. but noticing the time of the post u probably know this by now lol

  • maybe, but he couldn't do anything.

  • @Khaos969

he was trying to use the rubber guard. sets the oma plata up and other submissions also.

  • it was either that or a gogoplata, but a lot of times they just use them for sweeps

  • ahh thats the one! thanks alot mate :)

  • you really should lock your legs in a triangle when you do that or else they can slip out

  • wrong

  • majority of schools I have been to teach it pretty similar to the way BJ is doing it on this video. they shouldn't be able to escape if your thighs are flat on the mat.

  • someone needs to fix youtubes "reply" situation

  • Hawaiian. lol.

  • u could take his back, but why? its 10x easyer to just push his arm forward or sit up and forword and he will be forced to tap or snap

  • u take his back so he doesn't roll over to escape...

  • lmao

  • shutup noob

  • Or you can just be smart and not do extra work and take the submission where it stands lol

OOORRR get the omo position, then take the back, sink the hooks decide F' this, jump off his back into dog fight, then go to sink in a peruvian necktie, fall back, let go, sink a triangle, decide to switch an armbar, and then wake up realizing that when you thought to take the back he reversed you and punched you in the face knocking you the fuck out... all because you didn't appreciate a good omoplata..

  • lmfao

  • Or you could just sit up and get a tap, you fuckin fagg

  • hes just demonstrating an omaplata you tard

  • Comment removed

  • BJ is gonna destroy kenny.

  • why are people saying they want to see the submission ?

You can see it??? Am I missing something?

At the end of the clip the omaplata is locked in and the guy would have to tap

  • Maybe they want to see broken bones?

  • Comment removed

  • i tried that last night at class, but he rolled out of it. i guess i need to control the body more.

  • Take your opposite arm and wrap it around your opponents torso. This should give you the leverage you need.

  • Keep working at it. If your opponent rolls forward out of the omoplata, it's not necessarily a bad thing if you can get the sweep off of it. The omoplata has a much higher success rate as a sweep than it does as a submission hold. Keep training my friend and peace out brutha.

  • I LOL'd

  • i think its cool bj penn is doing this

  • If he's in high school he should more than definitely have a wrestling program in his school. Wrestling is one of the best bases for MMA, plus it gets your strong as hell. Combined this with some future submission learning, be it BJJ, or whatever and you'll have some one who can be an accomplished grappler and transition well to MMA.

  • move to a city with an mma school. try hilo big island, i hear there's a good school there.

  • Very nice. I'd like to see how it's finished into a shoulder lock, as opposed to say just using it for a sweep.

  • Once you have it locked in you just raise up and you start to bring your knee towards the floor. If it's locked in your opponent will either tap or get his should dislocated.

  • WoW!

    Good luck on ur fight.!
