  • i could put lego on your keys lol

  • so, can you play in normal equal temperament with just the white and black notes? and do you set the whole thing to a certain temperament or what? i'm a bit confused. looks fun though

  • @SquallPwnLife: default tuning is 205ET and virtual 12ET lies right across the middle in a straight line in that tuning, but you can retune every key on the keyboard to whatever you want.

  • @AaronAndrewHunt awesome! looks like a lot of fun and great for musical experiments

  • This is very interesting!

  • Wish I had some time&money to spend, I'd make myself a replica.

  • I really wish these had been in production back when I had some money to spend! :( The chords and nonstandard note runs you can produce on these are incredible! :) I do wish for quieter keys, and velocity sensitivity, but just the harmonic options alone make your keyboards worthwhile. I am curious how long it takes to develop any real playing proficiency. Keep up the great work! P.S. - If possible, please invest in slightly better recording quality, especially of audio, for future videos.

  • @jrichetta: yes, as I noted in the comment for this video, the audio is not good quality here. There are many other Plexus videos having separate stereo audio tracks - that takes much longer to edit and I often simply do not have the time. Thanks for the post, and I hope you'll check out some of the other videos.

  • Sorry Aaron; wasn't trying to beat you up about the obvious (I normally read comments completely, but apparently didn't this time). The right software should make combining the audio and video fairly easy. I have long ago checked out your other videos, with my favorites being ones that illustrate big just-tuned chords and some of your own compositions. It appears even more have been posted since I last checked - yay! I hope people find these inspiring WRT alternate tunings - I do!

  • @AaronAndrewHunt If you get a chance, I would appreciate an answer to my playing proficiency question. I hope to be able to buy a Tonal Plexus, some day, though it's not imminent. Please keep up the great work in music controller innovation, and in composing (?) and playing. Thanks for sharing these super cool videos, and for bringing your controllers to musicians everywhere!

  • Thanks for the question. Like any musical instrument, there are playing techniques involved that are specific to the instrument, and it takes practice to get the hang of it, depending on the aptitude of the player and how much time is actually spent practicing. In my experience, it has not taken long at all to figure things out. As any instrumental musician knows, getting one's fingers to obey just takes practice ; )

  • lego!

  • Looks like legos.

  • I want one of these! *_*

  • Hmmmmmmm.
