The first volume, Fall 1152, focuses on a civil war stirred up by a mouse with a plot against the matriarch of the guard. That one is primarily an outdoors story.
The second book, Winter 1152, is mostly about some of the guard attempting to deliver desperately needed supplies in the midst of a snowstorm. However, there's also a subplot about someone within the city of Lockhaven (their capitol) who is trying to sabotage the guard.
@TKGB2006 Also, and this is just me talking as a fan, but if you like adventure stories, particularly sword and board stories, this one is a must-read. It's even beter if you're a fan of Redwall at all. The storytelling is quite good (volume 2 especially), and the art is absolutely beautiful all around.
@Goatmon I like journeys. Adventures on trying to reach a goal that requires a long trek, like Lord of the Rings. I like adventures that stay within the homebase, but if there is a story that requires a long voyage, I'll be more interested in that.
Though, just out of curiosity, I did bought the book, I'm hoping there some kind of caravan style journey in here.
@Goatmon Well I just read the book. To be honest, I did not wow me. Though the story was really good and the characters were great, but it wasn't what I was expecting.
It's a great book but I think I'll pass on this series.
If it was autumn that you were going through, I strongly suggest giving Winter a chance (at least the first chapter) because it is much much better than the first book. But that's up to you.
Why isn't this a movie yet?!!?!???!!??

I love this series!! I wonder if David was inspired at all by Redwall - which I also love :)

Not bad, but the narrator could be better. His voice doesn't seem to fit the series. Otherwise, nice!

I want to get this but I want to know if it's an adventure book. If so, is the adventure within the home or do they venture into the world.

@TKGB2006 The first book is not so much a caravan adventure. The second book is more along those lines.
