Yamaha R6 is the most powerful bike in the 600cc category.. So it is upto the rider to utilise its power.. The street tests depends upon the Rider's physical attributes like height, weight, and even the underwear he worn that day.. So decide it by riding yourself not by some Honda fans' comments.. Eventually there will me more Americans watching Youtube than Japanese!.. :-)

@MboroMarksman4 The Honda is a much better bike for a first Bike. It's easier to ride better suspension, . The R6 is is also an outstanding bike but a bit harder to ride the suspension is much stiffer..

If I were you and I was buying a first bike I would buy used, something a little older and cheaper.....Because it's not if you go down...It's when you go down. I haven't met a rider yet with 5 or more years experiance that hasn't hit the pavement. INVEST IN LEATHERS and a good Helmit

Honda this, yamaha that. I own an 07' 600RR and it is no worse or better than the R6.  Now I am saying this because I have a yamaha dirtbike yet have not ridden an R6. Both great bikes, just up to personal preference. Maybe the CBR is a better beginner bike. That is because it is a stable creature. IMHO, the R1 is the sickest bike out there.

imo cbr's are better for most being an all round bike but yamaha r series are more tricky to ride especially the 2010 models they're awkward when first riding and have huge grunt out of corners
