I think it is a mistake to compare this dead cat bounce with that of 1930. As you said that was a gold backed dollar and the fed could not engage in their current liquidity programs. You must also consider how much of the toxic waste the fed is carrying on their balance sheet. With this in mind, if there is even a hint of a big drop coming, they will print like never before.
