soul caliber is not really a 2-D game you have full movement using the whole ring so that you can either evade, block, jump, or duck 2-Ds loses the side stepping feature and keeps you on a linear path DOA is also the same as sooul caliber except with much nicer moves. but dont think i am saying that there are no good 2-D games because there i think one of my favs is Guilty gear that is a good 2-D game
