hi! I grew up with the story of Malikta Shamiran (Queen Shamiran) as a strong, female warrior who avenged her husbands death against the king of another city who stole her and married her for his self... without the kings knowledge she gathered her dead husbands army and reigned war against her current capture and took over... she was known for her bravery & warfare tactics. Hence why us assyrians celebrate the injured Malikta Shamiran on Kha B'Nissan being ridden on a two horse Chariot.
The Proto-Anatolians could be nearly autochthonous to AnatoliaThis is the most likely hypothesis at the present point; it is based on the early split of the proto-Anatolian languages from the main Indo-European stem.On the other hand, if we assume that the Proto-Anatolians moved to Anatolia from somewhere else, then the eastern route from the Caucasus region would be slightly more plausible, being supported by such arguments as the relatively early appearance of Hittites in Anatolia by 1800 BC
A plush and affluent neighborhood north of Tehran at the foot of the Alborz mounatins is also called "Shamiran"-- Also, notice the name "Iran" was derived from the Queen's title.
Thank you for sharing this knowledge! I did not know about the neighborhood, nor recognized the simplicity of the word "Iran" in Shamiran's name. Incredible.
@Assyrian333 You're most welcome. We are connected in more ways than one; especially when the same area where Babylon was once located were once all part of the Persian Empire. The Queen Semiramis lives on.
history amazes me, assyria, irap, egypt syria turkey greece and many other countries have soo much in common, language, culture, food, clothes, dance, music u can see a little of everything. at the end of the day we are all the same, we share the same ancestors. even in europe royals use to marry each other so they are all one family lets stop hating, and killing and go back to who we were.
If Shamiram wasn't a real Ruler or Queen, then how did she make a LAW that all people in Babylon had to speak Aramaic. Whoever refused got their tongues cut off. Do you know how many Armenians and others People with different languages tongues were cut out when they got caught secretly speaking other languages.
The Legend of queen Semiramis and king Ninus of 800 B.C. has nothing to do with the bible, church or any religion whatsoever. Preserved by the Greek historian Diodorus Siculus in his history of the world, he borrowed legends from others that were also circulating before his time and none of them involve anything about any religion whatsoever. It is a legendary folklore similar to Helen of Troy, which involves the history pertaining to the Middle-East. Assyrians should be proud of this legend.
Love the video! and i love her! while i think that there is some rough interpation to what happened to her first husband and to her next husband, its straight on! loved it!
THAT'S NOT WHAT MY BIBLE SAYS AND THAT'S NOT WHAT THE HISTORY OF THE WORLDS PAGAN HOLIDAYS SHOW, BUT SOME OF YOUR VIDEO IS TRUE. YOU MIGHT WANT TO DO SOME MORE RESEARCH.
@FOLLOWEROFYAHSWORD your bible is one word,,,,doesn;t make it THE word this is way before your God was even thought of! and you stole some symbols! your Virgin Mary has roots in my Semiramis! and in my Isis, and alot of your mythology bowers from mine!
One God? look at the number of saints your allowed to woship! you have polythism as much as the rest of these religons!
@crazyphan18 My God is the Creator. Before He manifest Himself in the flesh as Yahoshua (Jesus). satan deceived the world with a false trinity ahead of time. These deities are fairytails that people made up for their own way of worship. The Bible is correct in all its prophesies, history, and even science. That is the authority of Yahweh (God). I admit paganism exist in Christianity today. that's why I'm not a Christian. I'm a Messianic of the House of Israel. not a greco-roman Christian.
@FOLLOWEROFYAHSWORD the bible might be been correct in it;s time a few millenia ago but in the 21st centry its outdated...and primitive to the way we think and what we know in our life..and especally in science!
i am not saying that the discoveries in science have strengthed some belief in god but the Bible is not the LAW of science.
@crazyphan18 Yahweh has always existed -he even created Semiramis. Virgin Mary has roots in Semiramis, yes this is true, but not becuz christians stole the idea. christians(catholics) are worsiping Semiramis they just call her Mary. and other christians (protestants) worship her son Tammuz/horus/jesus.
assyrian333, yes the catholic church took mary and nade her a point of worship to its misled followers, she is the mother of jesus, but she cannot save you or forgive you.
@rathchild76 Is your video response conveying the message that the Virgin Mary is a reincarnation of Isis? I won't accept it as a response since that's the message I'm getting.
@Assyrian333 i dont now if you now it but semiramis was the wife of king nebuchadnezzar II how hated the assyrians and wantet two destroy them what eventuly is hapend not under nebuchadnezzar II
@ovz112 your an idiot dude she was the wife of king Shamshi-Adad V and she was the queen of Babylon,
the hanging gardens of babylon were made for her they were also known as the shamiran gardens. get your facts straight buddy. Babylon was a kingdom of the Assyrian empire.
@MrPerfordmance Throughout the duration of the Neo Assyrian Empire Babylonia was under Assyrian domination or direct control. During the reign of Sennacherib of Assyria, Babylonia was in a constant state of revolt, led by Mushezib-Marduk, and suppressed only by the complete destruction of the city of Babylon. In 689 BC, its walls, temples and palaces were razed, and the rubble was thrown into the Arakhtu, the sea bordering the earlier Babylon on the south
@MrPerfordmance you talk some real bull shit the assyrians where the nummber one enemy of the assyrians here a wiki qoute. and hy dint bult it for his wife no one no for what teh did it some belief for teh god some belief for his littel girl no one said some thing about his wife get your fact right the assyrians killed the babyloners by starfation and destroying the city nevver been buddys
In the "Assyrian Church of the East" during Mass and other ancient Assyrian churches it's spoken, and in Indian Churches. But not day-to day. We speak modern Assyrian/Aramaic.
Yaaay I always wanted to know more information about Queen Shamiran. (: Mostly because my name is Shamiran and once my dad told me he named me after the queen of Babylon, that's where my curiosity struck. Lol Thankies for the video! :D
you can thank the bitch ass british for stealing all of our artifacts plus 1 thing that people didnt realize when ''they'' invaded iraq britian went straight for the ruins of assyria and started packing shit up then they tried blaming it on arabs saying they stole it and broke a bunch of stuff ok so for all years before arabs thought at that time and point was a good one to take our shit at a time of war they want to steal , makes no sense
It really blows my mind that such an enterprise is legal. It would be so wonderful if Iraq made it illegal to export such items like Greece does. You can't take a single artifact, not even a coin from Greece! Then maybe Interpol would close these people down and they would have to operate on the black market if they wanted to at all. Crazy.
its only legal because britian allows it to happend to only us see its stealing if you took others artifacts but ours is like they were made to be taken by people ........i dont fuckin get it either
It was stupid to say what I said the way I said it in my first post, but to be fair it was pointed at Semiramis and not Assyria or Assyrian culture. Every person should be proud of who they are.
BTW, if you want to save some Assyrian history, literally, you can buy back ancient Assyrian artifacts being sold by Muslim profiteers at the Sadighgallery . com.
I'm in Alabama, and a beleiver in Jesus. I have read about Assyria for a long time, but only histories and Biblical texts. What is the current dominant belief system among the Assyrians? Wasn't Nineveh Assyrian?
Assyrians today are Christian, and were one of the first groups of people to accept Christ. We speak Aramaic/Assyrian, the language Jesus spoke.
The Assyrian Church of the East, the predominate church of Assyrians, was established in 33 AD by Saint Thomas. The Assyrians aided St. Thomas in spreading the Word to the Orient and Far East [I made a video on this]. If you'd like more information, let me know. God Bless.
if she did marry her son, WHO CARES, inbreeding amongst ROYALTY has been going on for thousands of years, the egyptians did it, the ROMANS OBVIOUSLY DID IT, so did the greeks. it still goes on to this day, THE ROYAL FAMILY OF BRITAIN has been inbreeding with there cousins FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS, and its a fact that can be researched all 600 cousins to the queen are related to eachother MUCH MUCH MORE THAN JUST MARRIAGE!
The only difference is, Semiramis was according to all sources particularly sexually promiscuous and aggressive, and did not only marry her son, but turned on her husband and fell in love with her son... a little different than marrying a cousin or even a sister.
But in essence you are exactly right, there is a common theme here. The problem is, people attacking others for bringing it up as if Semiramis was Einstein, Julius Caesar, and the Virgin Mary all wrapped into one. Ridiculous.
BTW, are you a Maronite? I go to a Maronite Church once and a while called St. Michaels, its in a old converted Roman Catholic Church, very beautiful, but long liturgy. I was looking at your profile and figured you might be, a Maronite.
No, I'm not Maronite. I'm part of the Assyrian Church of the East. Maronites, Chaldeans [Catholic Assyrians], and Syriac Orthodoxy all branched out from the Assyrian Church.
Semiramis is a cool part of Assyrian culture, she becomes important when we see the effect of her cult on Assyrian society, she becomes even more important and understandable when we have historical fact to back her existence up. And Semiramis and all her effects become EVEN MORE important when we look and find out how she effected the cultures around her.. like Egypt, Greece, Phoenicia, because they effect us directly. Semiramis is so much more than a fairy tale. That's why facts are important
The greatest thing modern Assyrians can do for the preservation of their culture and land is to exhaustively research EVERYTHING that ties them to the land and Assyrian history. In doing so, not only do they prove their claims, they gain international recognition and become a cultural treasure themselves. Just like Israel has done and continues to do through extensive archeology. Fairy tales are gonna do anything for Assyrians or Assyria.
When people talk about historicity they shouldn't be violently attacked, granted I could have been more tasteful in my delivery, but looking at it from a modern view... marrying your son just isn't cool. In your video, you say Semiramis became Isis in Egypt. Then, do you recall that Isis gave birth to Osiris who killed his father and married Isis? Just like with Semiramis and Nimrod/Nin/Ninu/Sargon. Your own video proves my point. I'm not the only one sayin' it... universities are globally.
Marrying your son? That's part of the various versions of the myth. How are myths not "gonna do anything for Assyrians or Assyria"? What about Greek myths? The whole world knows the myths of the Ancient Greeks. I don't think that's pointless...
And you must be confusing my video with another, or possibly not have watched my video since I don't include Isis at all. I include that Shamiran's legend might have been based on a real Assyrian princess/Queen named Shammuramat.
No, actually, that's factual. She did marry her son. There is a difference between myth and Mythos. One is part truth and they are distinguishable. Ishtar is Mythos and she is self described as a whore, even in the Epic Gilgamesh, going through an inordinate amount of lovers.
Greek myth is only important in so far as it explains socio-political problems. And the only reason we look at that is because of the primary Greek contributions... ", DEMOCRACY, PHILOSOPHY, AND LOGIC."
Greek myths like Zeus turning himself into a cow and mating with girls doesn't quite reflect the ideals of "DEMOCRACY, PHILOSOPHY, AND LOGIC" yet the we all know and recite them. It promotes Greek culture, and our myths promote and enlighten others on our vibrant culture.
Are you familiar with Assyrian/Mesopotamian innovations and contributions? I advise you to watch one of my videos on that subject.
I don't think you understand what I'm saying, its because of democracy, philosophy, and logic that we pay attention to Greek mythology. Because Greek mythology is conveyed in a highly complicated manner and had direct effect on the goings on in Greece. I'm very familiar with Assyrian contributions, and so is the world, which is why it is interested in Assyrian mythology. We only care about myth in so far as it effects reality, that's reality.
If we can't draw a line between a culture and its myths and its religion, then they are pointless and don't help anything. But if we uncover history through archeology and study, it always seems that the myths are telling the same story, there is the value of the myth. They are only valuable together. That's my point, Assyrians need to share cultural tales in the context of history, that's my opinion.
Absolutely! The effects of Semiramis on the region concerning polytheism created Egypt as we know it! And that effected the Greeks and the Romans. And their morality and ethics derived from those religions inspired partially by Semiramis are still used today. The Phoenicians colonized from Crete to Sweden carrying the Semiramis myth with them, changing it little by little, but always the same theme. The only other woman as influential as Semiramis is the Virgin Mary!
Semiramis was many things, and one of those was a high priestess, and in that culture ritual prostitution was not only acceptable but revered. It was a different time. Semiramis was different, by all counts. But we can't know the value of Semiramis and her effect on the world if we don't look at history.
But lets just say for a second that Semiramis marrying her son is just a variation in the myth. Why should we believe that she didn't? If they both compel us to belief only because of their existence as myths, then the myths are equal. But we have historical facts to back up one of the myths... the one that says she married her son.
Think about it. Does Cleopatra's promiscuity with Caesar mar her image in history, or is it looked at as brilliant political shrewdness? Its looked at as a wise move. All you have to do is read the The Legend of Sargon, one page long, and you'll see that Semiramis put him in a river and her gardener found him and she knew he was growing up in her house, the Sargon says that she "gave him her love." Its not up for interpretation, it is what it is... HISTORY. And its ok.
Nor would I talk about Germany and pretend that Hitler never happened. Nor would I talk about about William Wallace and intentionally forget that he made a belt out of human skin! Fairy Tales are cultural treaures, but the actual value of historical Assyrian figures is in their historicity. And all sources concur that Semiramis was a high priestess, and everyone knows what high priestesses did... ritual prostitution... which was a powerful political tool in her hand.
Assyrian culture is worthless if it is only contained and summed up in fairy tales. Assyrian greatness comes from who the Assyrians REALLY were and what shaped them and made them stand out as a culture in antiquity. That includes the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. You have no right attacking people for communicating historical fact.
Shrine prostitution and ritual sex has existed in every culture. And Semiramis' legacy is particularly notorious. There is plenty of evidence to state that she was Great but nothing that states that she was good by any stretch of the imagination. You want to believe in fairy tales, that's your business. Don't attack people for believing in historical fact.
It's all interpretation. Likewise, some historians today still believe the Assyrians are an extinct people. Does that make them correct? Does that make me invisible, nonexistent? No, that just means their perception of the truth is misguided, or faulty.
Would Assyrians revere her for the tales of her claimed prostitution? Of course not. We honor her bravery, intellect, and sheer courage. We tell her tale to revive Assyria, and inform the world of her greatness. Whether it be in myth, or fact.
OR... you calling yourself Assyrian might be like calling myself Aryan. Or Teutonic, or Pictish... which is nonsense, even though that is my heritage. Assyria as comparable to Ancient Assyria does not exist. No one is saying the ethnic descendants of Assyria do not exist.
If I were Assyrian, I would revere her for her accomplishments, but I wouldn't be intellectually dishonest about who she was or what she did. Just like I wouldn't deny that the Picts shared their wives in common.
It's quite evident that Ancient Assyria doesn't exist. That's why it's referred to as "Ancient". But Northern Iraq is referred to as "Assyria" to this day, and is considered our homeland. That is not to be questioned.
I don't have a problem with Assyrians, Assyrian History or Assyria. I have a problem with brainwashed, disrespectful people who attack others without any kind of reason. I have posted the historical evidence for everything I have said... you have posted nothing but inconsistencies and belligerent attacks to go with your endorsement of fairy tales.
"An Italian Assyrologist has convincingly demonstrated that Semiramis is the mythical figure that Ctesais conflated with Samuramat... an Assyrian Queen... if the Babylonian Queen did exist she probably would have participated in ritual sex acts in her capacity as High Priestess."
(By Nils Johan Ringdal, Richard Daly from "A World History of Prostitution".)
"My mother was a high priestess..." -King Sargon.-
Ctesias says in her biography that she was a shrine prostitute (a.k.a. priestess) who married King Ninu (who is King Sargon, who is Nin, who is Nimrod).
"...these were "sacred prostitutes," and it is in connection with this class of priestesses that rites were practised in the temples." (CIVILIZATION OF BABYLONIA AND
ASSYRIA, MORRIS JASTROW, JR., THE LIBRARIES, THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA .)
To counterclaim your quotes, here are some others: G.J. Whyfe-Melville "Sarchedon: A Legend of the Great Queen": "She was beautiful no doubt, in the nameless beauty that wins. Her form was matchless in symmetry, so that her every gesture, in the saddle or on the throne, was womanly, dignified, and graceful, while each dress she wore, from royal robe and jeweled tiara and golden headpiece. With a man's strength of body, she possessed more than a man's power of mind and force of will."
Yeah, but understand that what you have quoted is literary and artistic, not scholarly and archeological. What you have here is beautiful, but subjective. What I'm talking about is "objective" and factual, historical evidence. Everyone talks about how great Abraham and Sarah were, but everyone forgets that they were siblings! Its a common theme in history. All I'm saying is, separate the facts from fiction. Study facts, enjoy fiction.
Yeah, I'm so racist toward Assyrians that I have the Assyrian Cherubim tattooed on my left forearm and have a half Assyrian half sister. A simple google search proves me right. As for all of you, you are living up to your own stereotype... middle eastern fanatical anti-intellectuals. Good job. And good bye
Your sister is half Assyrian? Then u should've shown more respect to her culture u fuckin clown, and u have an Assyrian Cherubim? Then you better get it removed, because you have no appreciation or respect for it or our culture!
Our people have survived for 7,000 year's Filiherion let's see how long you will last? No other nation has been able to survive for as long as we have. You too will go extinct in a matter of time because your mother is a two bit whore who proabably slept with every race on earth while our people preserved there culture. So die like the rest of weak culture's!
Your people have only survived as slaves and whores. By your logic my people have been around for 10,000 years AND they conquered your people three times! When was the last time Persia or Assyria conquered anyone in Europe? Oh yeah, never... hmmm.
LOL you are a pathetic piece of shit. Let's see how long you last with the muslims in your country. Plus your only a jelouse fruit cake. Nice double account's by the way. You cant fool anyone you loser. LOL Anyway's Assyrian empire spread throughout Europe you retard. LOL you have no idea about history like Nimroud said you are a pathetic idiot. I dont use this kind of language with people, but being you are an idiot.
So go wax your mother's moustache Kurd. Persia was wiped out by Alexander The Great who in his death called Babylon with its original name Babylon!!!! The ancient Persians are now nothing but a bunch of Muzzies, and Assyrians are still Assyrians!!! Now go die you jelouse gypsie!!
You studied Psychology? Where? You need to get your money back. Semiramis was a shrine prostitute who probably was either schizophrenic or epileptic or both, and she married into power, and she did seduce her own some and its all available to be read in archeological documents. You talking about how good Semiramis was is like a Russian talking about how the Soviets invented the telephone. You are brainwashed and need to seek legit education.
Most of my friends are bible reader's they know this. Your just an idiot who spew's hate, and want's attention. No one even like's people like you unfortunately.
Really? Go look at Trier in Germany that has ancient Assyrian writing you whore, and the custom's that our similar to our people. Shut your trap up. Assyrian empire reached all the way to Asia minor you freak. We were the highest military organization. I suggest you read accurate book's.
I recall I mentioned Europe idiot. I think Germany is in Europe. Anyway's like I said your post's are senseless, and not educational. When you talk like a educated person, and not curse, and use low class language maybe you can actually have a chance at a decent conversation.
You're a racist, and an idiot, and you have posted in two accounts yourself, actually trying to hide that it is you. I forgot my password and had to make a new account, but you're just an idiot. BTW, I couldn't be anymore white... I'm Scottish and Scandinavian. What a fucktard, you have directions to my location within the tenth of a mile, come get your ass beat or stfu.
Please take the honor and stop with your account's you look pathetic. I can read your IP loser. And by the way go make friend's instead of making double account's. Your not even American your a Kurd. LOL
Your telling me I'm a Kurd. That's funny I always thought I was American born and raised. I guess I'm the dumb one for thinking that being white and American doesn't mean your a Kurd. Why do you think its such a strange thing to have two accounts? Your a typical filthy racist extremist piece of shit. W
Oh, and I guess it works the same shit as you calling uy Assyrian people names you racist bitch! Dont come here attacking my people! For no damn reason. Assyrians are peaceful people, and good people, and you choose to come here, and attack there culture and your calling me racist you hypocrite. Learn your battles you idiot.
I told the truth about a whore, literally recorded in history as a whore, and you dumb fuck Assyrian pieces of shit start attacking me. You are racists, bigots, Assyrian supremacists... you are the Assyrian equivalent of Nazi Skinheads. You can't handle historical facts, then shut the fuck up.
You read myth's Semiremis was a great Queen not a whore you read book's based on Italian writer's, and mythology. That is not truth. Grow up. You talk like a little kid. And quit whining.
I am talking from objective, tangible, in situ archeological artifacts. You are endorsing the above video which is an exposition of myth and mythos. I'm being objective, you are being a subjective ultra-ethnic maniac.
And here's the funniest thing of all... my half-sister is Assyrian, her name is Iesha and her father's name is Amir. How about that! Its amazing what you find out about other people. Maybe if you had been adult enough to engage in conversation instead of disrespect you might not look like such a dumb shit right now.
Sargon, Nimrod, Ninu, Nin, and Ninus are all the same person. Sar means "prince", gon means "legitimate"... which mean he probably wasn't. Nin, Ninu, and Ninus all mean king. Nimrod is the Anglicized Numaridu, meaning "we rebel to the point of murder." Semiramis is also know as Ishtar.
Ishtar was Sargon's mother... WHO SEDUCED HIM! She was a "changling" a.k.a. a demon possessed woman. She started out a lowly woman and became a high Priestess. She hid her pregnancy in shame and gave birth to Nin
Fairy tale book's dont say shit. Is that why million's of people name there places in honor of her. Like I said bend over, and shove your Dante book's in your ass.
What they leave out is that Nimrod was her son, she had after fucking a whole crowd of citizens to calm down a riot against her first husband Kish... and later her son chased out her husband King Kish and married her becoming her husband... nasty bitch. They had a retarded offspring she named Tammuz.... that she murdered, by burning him alive as a child when she realized he couldn't handle his father's responsibility.
Hey Retard, don't put your own mother's story here, this video is about an Ashurian Heroine, and Shamiram is mother to all Ashurians in the world, so take a bar of soap and stuff it in your mouth, rinse and get ready to suck every Ashurians' Dick, because we'll only put in your mouth if it's clean, you Mother-Fucking Piece of Pig-Shit!
You know as much history as a Chimpanzee knows how to speak. DumbAss!
Wow, you proved me wrong! History is history. Semiramis was a crowd fucking cum dumpster who set up polytheism, whilst deep throating her own son. The was a filthy adulteress and a despicable human being. Her own actions sentence her to being remembered in antiquity as a whore. So, if she is your mother, you are the son of an incestuous whore. No wonder you are retarded.
Again u confuse ur mother's lifestyle with someone else's, & those disgusting things you're saying must have been done to u by ur own mother, u Bastard son of a Mut Whore!
Ur species is the kind the world needs to rid itself of, spreading filth, hate & lies in the most disgusting fashion, well this is the response you'll continue to get not just by me, but by anyone with self respect, & a respect for other people's history & culture.
I wonder what culture u r from, because u disgrace that too!
Khoona moot makrooba ganookh bedowa speesa. He obviously is angry he has no friend's, and is an attention seeking whore. Plus he read's too much BS play's. Did you hear the new TV show is based on Semiremis coming out next year on showtime called Mesopotamia. It should shut him the fuck up. Our Queen probably conquered, and shred his people to bit's.
If u look at all my other posts, you'll see that I almost never use this kind of language, but every once in a while, we get a ScumBag like this Zarra D' Satana who say's some things that need to be answered in the worst way possible.
This Bruna D' Kakhba deserves the same medicine he deals, and I KNOW he could NEVER say this to an Ashurian's face, Male or Female, because he'd have his head taken off and shoved back in the whole he came out of, the Spisa Masilliana D' Kalbe U' Khmareh!
Promises Promises, bring it on bitch! I live in Chicago and I'd LOVE to meet you in person and stuff your words back into that toilet you call a mouth!
I'm from the old school, meaning I settle things like a man, with my Fists! If you can handle that, give me the time & place, PLEEEEAAASSSEEEEE!
I always make time for handing out a well deserved face pounding :)
Yeah, I kinda thought so, funny how he responds with another account name, what a Loser! A kurd trying to harras Ashurians on the internet? What a surprise? :P
Honestly, I try to be nice to everybody, but out of every 20 kurds I encounter, 19 of them are total assholes, it's amazing!
Americans dont talk like you and our not American bitch stop pretending ass wipe. LOL I have most American friends I can bring on here who are marines who will rip you to shreds bitch, and by the way talk your shit whore, but dont let your mouth write a check your ass cant cash. You pussy. We fucked up Nazis during world war 2, and we can fuck you up in a second. Even Hitler the bitch called our people the most amazing fighter's.
I come from a Race that STARTED Empires and CIVILIZATIONS U fuckin Horse-CockSucking FAG! American? (LOL!) & what the fuck is that, some new ethnicity? Anybody in America is an American you Fuck-Tard! You're most likely a BASTARD and a MUT, from Polish, Cheorkee, Chimpanzee, & God knows what combination of mixed races!
U R the end-product of some poor Immigrant peasants who've lost their own cultures, leaving u with loss of identity, & that's Y ur here, because ur a jealous cunt!
You are reading fairy tale book's you twat. How bout you actually look up fact's on our ancient Queen, and learn she conquered, and set up life, and built civilization by herself. Stupid retard. Go read your fairy tale book's, and shove them up your mother's ass!
Nice video, good song selection. One small correction though: Her name is not SHAMIRAN, it's SHAMIRAM, which means SHIMMI RAMA (My name is High/Majestic).
Shamiran and Shamiram are the same thing. Remember its a semitic language... i.e, no vowels and frequent permutation of consonants. So, for instance, Nin (meaning king) is also Ninu, and Minu, Mina, Minas (like Minas in the first dynasty of the Lower Kingdom), which is like Minos. All mean king. So, yes, Shemiran is Shemiram.
I don't know why she was associated with occult societies, possibly because legend states she was the daughter of a goddess, and therefore they revere her proposed divinity.
There are many versions of her legend, some say her son was also named Ninus and rose to become a powerful ruler.
I've heard her son was called King Nimrod, and was associated with the keeping of the Ark of the Covenant. But again, its just based on some of the other research that mentions her, Horus and other "messianic" figures in the ancient cultures.
who are you? i want to hold you close and kiss you!!! i am a writer who stumbled apon the queen about a year ago and trying to find out anything i could. please please help me with any kinda of research. completely facinated by her also writting a novel of her life.
hi! I grew up with the story of Malikta Shamiran (Queen Shamiran) as a strong, female warrior who avenged her husbands death against the king of another city who stole her and married her for his self... without the kings knowledge she gathered her dead husbands army and reigned war against her current capture and took over... she was known for her bravery & warfare tactics. history amazes me, assyria, irap, egypt syria turkey greece and many other countries have soo much in common, language, culture, food, clothes, dance, music u can see a little of everything. at the end of the day we are all the same, we share the same ancestors. even in europe royals use to marry each other so they are all one family lets stop hating, and killing and go back to who we were.

FOLLOWEROFYAHSWORD 1 year ago

MrPerfordmance 6 months ago
@MrPerfordmance Throughout the duration of the Neo Assyrian Empire Babylonia was under Assyrian domination or direct control. During the reign of Sennacherib of Assyria, Babylonia was in a constant state of revolt, led by Mushezib-Marduk, and suppressed only by the complete destruction of the city of Babylon. In 689 BC, its walls, temples and palaces were razed, and the rubble was thrown into the Arakhtu, the sea bordering the earlier Babylon on the south

you can thank the bitch ass british for stealing all of our artifacts plus 1 thing that people didnt realize when ''they'' invaded iraq britian went straight for the ruins of assyria and started packing shit up then they tried blaming it on arabs saying they stole it and broke a bunch of stuff ok so for all years before arabs thought at that time and point was a good one to take our shit at a time of war they want to steal , makes no sense
kingbigdawg9 2 years ago

BTW, if you want to save some Assyrian history, literally, you can buy back ancient Assyrian artifacts being sold by Muslim profiteers at the Sadighgallery . com.

MrSUPERDOLMA 2 years ago
The only difference is, Semiramis was according to all sources particularly sexually promiscuous and aggressive, and did not only marry her son, but turned on her husband and fell in love with her son... a little different than marrying a cousin or even a sister.
But in essence you are exactly right, there is a common theme here. The problem is, people attacking others for bringing it up as if Semiramis was Einstein, Julius Caesar, and the Virgin Mary all wrapped into one. Ridiculous.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
BTW, are you a Maronite? I go to a Maronite Church once and a while called St. Michaels, its in a old converted Roman Catholic Church, very beautiful, but long liturgy. I was looking at your profile and figured you might be, a Maronite.

No, I'm not Maronite. I'm part of the Assyrian Church of the East. Maronites, Chaldeans [Catholic Assyrians], and Syriac Orthodoxy all branched out from the Assyrian Church.
Assyrian333 2 years ago
Semiramis is a cool part of Assyrian culture, she becomes important when we see the effect of her cult on Assyrian society, she becomes even more important and understandable when we have historical fact to back her existence up. And Semiramis and all her effects become EVEN MORE important when we look and find out how she effected the cultures around her.. like Egypt, Greece, Phoenicia, because they effect us directly. Semiramis is so much more than a fairy tale. That's why facts are important
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
The greatest thing modern Assyrians can do for the preservation of their culture and land is to exhaustively research EVERYTHING that ties them to the land and Assyrian history. In doing so, not only do they prove their claims, they gain international recognition and become a cultural treasure themselves. Just like Israel has done and continues to do through extensive archeology. Fairy tales are gonna do anything for Assyrians or Assyria.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
When people talk about historicity they shouldn't be violently attacked, granted I could have been more tasteful in my delivery, but looking at it from a modern view... marrying your son just isn't cool. In your video, you say Semiramis became Isis in Egypt. Then, do you recall that Isis gave birth to Osiris who killed his father and married Isis? Just like with Semiramis and Nimrod/Nin/Ninu/Sargon. Your own video proves my point. I'm not the only one sayin' it... universities are globally.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
Marrying your son? That's part of the various versions of the myth. How are myths not "gonna do anything for Assyrians or Assyria"? What about Greek myths? The whole world knows the myths of the Ancient Greeks. I don't think that's pointless...
And you must be confusing my video with another, or possibly not have watched my video since I don't include Isis at all. I include that Shamiran's legend might have been based on a real Assyrian princess/Queen named Shammuramat.
Replay.
Assyrian333 2 years ago
No, actually, that's factual. She did marry her son. There is a difference between myth and Mythos. One is part truth and they are distinguishable. Ishtar is Mythos and she is self described as a whore, even in the Epic Gilgamesh, going through an inordinate amount of lovers.
Greek myth is only important in so far as it explains socio-political problems. And the only reason we look at that is because of the primary Greek contributions... ", DEMOCRACY, PHILOSOPHY, AND LOGIC."
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
Greek myths like Zeus turning himself into a cow and mating with girls doesn't quite reflect the ideals of "DEMOCRACY, PHILOSOPHY, AND LOGIC" yet the we all know and recite them. It promotes Greek culture, and our myths promote and enlighten others on our vibrant culture.
Are you familiar with Assyrian/Mesopotamian innovations and contributions? I advise you to watch one of my videos on that subject.
Assyrian333 2 years ago
I don't think you understand what I'm saying, its because of democracy, philosophy, and logic that we pay attention to Greek mythology. Because Greek mythology is conveyed in a highly complicated manner and had direct effect on the goings on in Greece. I'm very familiar with Assyrian contributions, and so is the world, which is why it is interested in Assyrian mythology. We only care about myth in so far as it effects reality, that's reality.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
If we can't draw a line between a culture and its myths and its religion, then they are pointless and don't help anything. But if we uncover history through archeology and study, it always seems that the myths are telling the same story, there is the value of the myth. They are only valuable together. That's my point, Assyrians need to share cultural tales in the context of history, that's my opinion.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
We do share cultural tales in the context of history, read "The Crimson Field" by Rosie Malek-Yonan.
Assyrian333 2 years ago
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
Semiramis was many things, and one of those was a high priestess, and in that culture ritual prostitution was not only acceptable but revered. It was a different time. Semiramis was different, by all counts. But we can't know the value of Semiramis and her effect on the world if we don't look at history.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
But lets just say for a second that Semiramis marrying her son is just a variation in the myth. Why should we believe that she didn't? If they both compel us to belief only because of their existence as myths, then the myths are equal. But we have historical facts to back up one of the myths... the one that says she married her son.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
Think about it. Does Cleopatra's promiscuity with Caesar mar her image in history, or is it looked at as brilliant political shrewdness? Its looked at as a wise move. All you have to do is read the The Legend of Sargon, one page long, and you'll see that Semiramis put him in a river and her gardener found him and she knew he was growing up in her house, the Sargon says that she "gave him her love." Its not up for interpretation, it is what it is... HISTORY. And its ok.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
Nor would I talk about Germany and pretend that Hitler never happened. Nor would I talk about about William Wallace and intentionally forget that he made a belt out of human skin! Fairy Tales are cultural treaures, but the actual value of historical Assyrian figures is in their historicity. And all sources concur that Semiramis was a high priestess, and everyone knows what high priestesses did... ritual prostitution... which was a powerful political tool in her hand.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
Assyrian culture is worthless if it is only contained and summed up in fairy tales. Assyrian greatness comes from who the Assyrians REALLY were and what shaped them and made them stand out as a culture in antiquity. That includes the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly. You have no right attacking people for communicating historical fact.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
Shrine prostitution and ritual sex has existed in every culture. And Semiramis' legacy is particularly notorious. There is plenty of evidence to state that she was Great but nothing that states that she was good by any stretch of the imagination. You want to believe in fairy tales, that's your business. Don't attack people for believing in historical fact.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
It's all interpretation. Likewise, some historians today still believe the Assyrians are an extinct people. Does that make them correct? Does that make me invisible, nonexistent? No, that just means their perception of the truth is misguided, or faulty.
Would Assyrians revere her for the tales of her claimed prostitution? Of course not. We honor her bravery, intellect, and sheer courage. We tell her tale to revive Assyria, and inform the world of her greatness. Whether it be in myth, or fact.
Assyrian333 2 years ago
OR... you calling yourself Assyrian might be like calling myself Aryan.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
It's quite evident that Ancient Assyria doesn't exist. That's why it's referred to as "Ancient". But Northern Iraq is referred to as "Assyria" to this day, and is considered our homeland. That is not to be questioned.
Assyrian333 2 years ago
Certainly not, it is what it is. Assyria exists as a province.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
I don't have a problem with Assyrians, Assyrian History or Assyria. I have a problem with brainwashed, disrespectful people who attack others without any kind of reason. I have posted the historical evidence for everything I have said... you have posted nothing but inconsistencies and belligerent attacks to go with your endorsement of fairy tales.
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
"An Italian Assyrologist has convincingly demonstrated that Semiramis is the mythical figure that Ctesais conflated with Samuramat... an Assyrian Queen... if the Babylonian Queen did exist she probably would have participated in ritual sex acts in her capacity as High Priestess."
(By Nils Johan Ringdal, Richard Daly from "A World History of Prostitution".)
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
"My mother was a high priestess..." -King Sargon.-
Ctesias says in her biography that she was a shrine prostitute (a.k.a. priestess) who married King Ninu (who is King Sargon, who is Nin, who is Nimrod).
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
"...these were "sacred prostitutes," and it is in connection with this class of priestesses that rites were practised in the temples." (CIVILIZATION OF BABYLONIA AND
ASSYRIA, MORRIS JASTROW, JR., THE LIBRARIES, THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA .)
LeGrondeur 2 years ago
To counterclaim your quotes, here are some others: G.J. Whyfe-Melville "Sarchedon: A Legend of the Great Queen": "She was beautiful no doubt, in the nameless beauty that wins. Her form was matchless in symmetry, so that her every gesture, in the saddle or on the throne, was womanly, dignified, and graceful, while each dress she wore, from royal robe and jeweled tiara and golden headpiece. With a man's strength of body, she possessed more than a man's power of mind and force of will."
Assyrian333 2 years ago
Yeah, but understand that what you have quoted is literary and artistic, not scholarly and archeological. What you have here is beautiful, but subjective. What I'm talking about is "objective" and factual, historical evidence. Everyone talks about how great Abraham and Sarah were, but everyone forgets that they were siblings! Its a common theme in history. All I'm saying is, separate the facts from fiction. Study facts, enjoy fiction.

DumbAss!
Cheers!

Filiherion 2 years ago

Cheers!

i thank my parents that they gave me this beautiful name SHAMIRAN :)
shakana87 2 years ago 3
Nice video, good song selection. One small correction though: Her name is not SHAMIRAN, it's SHAMIRAM, which means SHIMMI RAMA (My name is High/Majestic).
Nimroud 2 years ago
Thanks!
I've never heard anyone named Shamiram, I've always heard Shamiran. I guess it depends.
Assyrian333 2 years ago
I guess they use Shamiran because it sounds more feminine?
Nimroud 2 years ago
Shamiran and Shamiram are the same thing. Remember its a semitic language... i.e, no vowels and frequent permutation of consonants. So, for instance, Nin (meaning king) is also Ninu, and Minu, Mina, Minas (like Minas in the first dynasty of the Lower Kingdom), which is like Minos. All mean king. So, yes, Shemiran is Shemiram.

Queen Semiramis. Why is she mentioned so much and connected with occult societies? And who was her son, and what was his fame about?
Ghaztoir 2 years ago
I don't know why she was associated with occult societies, possibly because legend states she was the daughter of a goddess, and therefore they revere her proposed divinity.
There are many versions of her legend, some say her son was also named Ninus and rose to become a powerful ruler.
Assyrian333 2 years ago
I've heard her son was called King Nimrod, and was associated with the keeping of the Ark of the Covenant. But again, its just based on some of the other research that mentions her, Horus and other "messianic" figures in the ancient cultures.
