At first I hated Ben. I thought (and still think) of him as "the weasel". He just sat back and pulled the strings and had everyone on the island dancing around and doing his will. But gradually the lines between who was good and who was bad like ben and the "others" began to blur. Ultimately when Ben moved the island, he redeems himself. You see that although he did carry out bad things, ultimately he does things FOR the island.
