Having watched a very real alien craft for twenty minutes back in the early seventies I am a firm believer. This however was a great video and you're quite right, people mistakingly jump to wrong conclusions all the time.

Your comments are incorrect. There are cases that defy a simple explanation. You should do a search on JAL 1628, which was a 747 cargo plane flying over Alaska. You'll find that there were radar reports and FAA tapes that were taken by a US government agency. The reported UFO was 4 times bigger than a 747, and followed it despite making evasive maneuvers. This was neither a man made craft or a weather phenomenon.

i have seen orb phaenamona from very short distance myself.. it is really really true!!. it was staggering.i dont know what i was seeing but i know that i wasnt hallucinating because my brother was with me and he started to run in panic
Thanks redshift40 I videod the "orb" as well but it was so big clear and very very bright in the sky it seemed too big to be a star,it was very low in the sky and never moved and wasn't there the next night. We have very clear skies here in Yorkshire England where I am ( looking towards the West) and I have never seen it since ever. Any reason why this would be if it's a star? forgive my lack of star/space knowledge btw, thanks
Your title is some what misleading,but informative on how the lense on the camera can mislead and for those that can't distinguish real ufo's from a star or a galaxy. various star n planet light going tru the humidity in the atmosphere give that kind of result. dont be mistaken those arent ufo's try to look at venus just has it goes over the horizon and you will see that kind of thing every night

I ask because I have been out numerous times with the public who think they have seen a UFO. I let them be freaked out for a while, then give them a pair of bino's or show in the wide angle lens on my telescope what the object realy is. When I look at the night sky, I know where everything is at all times. That is why it is easy for me to notice anything that is out of place. I have been fooled myself by some objects when I first started in astronomy.
I never said I was fooled by anyhting, theres no way what I see is a trick of the eye. I have made maps of the stars I see every night, checked them and double checked them. Also after sightings go to satilite tracker to make sure they aren`t satilites. Its alot of work to keep up with all that is out there.
I think you may be talking to those who are looking into deep space . I only report things I see with the naked eye, or through binoculars. I don`t know why you are so all knowing in attitude, the stars have been around for eons its not as if they are strangers to me or many utube readers ect. Well, you don't have to study astronomy to see a strange object and capture it on film. Anyway's I have not a reason to lie. Some support you could atleast let me know how to shape or whatever digitally to get a better finish . WTF keep it real that's a prime example of fake people
First, you have to state the exact time you recorded the object (time zone or UTC). What Lat. and Lon. you are at and what direction you are looking. If you can't see the horizon, then you will also have to state how high the object was from the horizon in deg. You also need to take the camera off of auto focus. To do this focus on a distant light untill it is in focus, then turn off auto.

Good work dude, I always tell people to grab a telescope and make sure its not a star or a planet. A video like this people can look at and acknowledge what they're actually looking at.
Most UFO sightings can be explained, and it annoys me considerably when people create hoaxes just to see how stupid people can be to believe them. Fuzzy lights aside, there are many accounts of commercial and military pilots who have witnessed large orbs and solid objects moving in a controlled manner. I am a skeptic when it comes to UFO sightings, but there are many such occurences that just can't be explained or ignored. To do so would be a great mistake. It's possible we are being studied.

I assume this is taken at night? I seen a few objects in the sky when I was a kid and it scared me silly. They say kids have a sort of sixth sense for this sort of thing. Not sure what made me look at the sky but I saw a convoy of 5-6 'objects' flying in and out of the stars across the night sky and into the distance - You seen anything like that? This was say 25 years ago now, jesus I'm getting old!

Do you know how many amateur astrophotographers there are in the world that are watching the skies? Many have all sky cameras that record 365 days a year. Do you think the government can keep us all quiet? Stan is a great guy, smart funny, but does he have evidence? NO. I have not read the French report, but I do suspect it is just more hearsay and no solid evidence.
U mean does he have 1 parked in his garage, no. But he has accumilated a tremendous of other types of evidence than a UFO. There R people who claim to have "pieces" of crash debri. Stan has that specific info on that too.

The clouds seen at 2:00 seem to be noctilucent clouds - clouds observed in special conditions at very high altitudes. As for the others: if you're using a tripod it's possible wind is just making it shake as you take photos, create the various effects you see. Also, the turbulent atmosphere tends to distort and refract images of planets, stars. Just a thought.

On four different ocassions spanning many years I have personally seen 5 different UFO's and on each occasion have been fortunate to have many witnesses to verify the events. Not saying they came from outer space, could be black ops. But on one occasion I was within 50 metres of two airborne craft. Faint buzzing sound only.

well i don´t know what an iridium satellite is, but i know that a "common" satellite moves in a straight line, and i have identified a few. but what i am talking about does things like turn back instantly 180º in their trajectory. i think a satellite can´t do that... and they change altitude either, i´ve seen them about 500 meters from ground to 2-3 km high. but even with binoculars can´t identify what it is. believe me, sometimes my heart rate increases a lot

i have seen orb phaenamona from very short distance myself.. it is really really true!!. it was staggering.i dont know what i was seeing but i know that i wasnt hallucinating because my brother was with me and he started to run in panic

Thanks redshift40 I videod the "orb" as well but it was so big clear and very very bright in the sky it seemed too big to be a star,it was very low in the sky and never moved and wasn't there the next night. We have very clear skies here in Yorkshire England where I am ( looking towards the West) and I have never seen it since ever. Any reason why this would be if it's a star? forgive my lack of star/space knowledge btw, thanks

99.9 percent of the time things are very clear, especially when you understand optics, and camera lenses. and other artifacts within a camera system.
I have had my fair share of oddities through the telescope over 30 years, and only one defies logic and can't be explained.
But it nice to sort out the bullshit that people try to pass off, good work.!!

Sirius is probably the holy grail for UFO people, but we have fun at our observatory using scheduled iridum flares to wow the crowd.
You wouldn't believe how many are freaked by it when we play it in a mysterious way.
Of ocurse if we just said, watch this satellite flare up, people would be interested, but not freaked at the same time.
Well that is good harmless fun anyway.

I have friends who work in the military and in the control tower at M/airport and seeing physical objects on radar, making right angel turns at 1000s of miles pH is normal for them. I let them be freaked out for a while, then give them a pair of bino's or show in the wide angle lens on my telescope what the object realy is. When I look at the night sky, I know where everything is at all times. That is why it is easy for me to notice anything that is out of place. I have been fooled myself by some objects when I first started in astronomy.

I never said I was fooled by anyhting, theres no way what I see is a trick of the eye. I have made maps of the stars I see every night, checked them and double checked them. Also after sightings go to satilite tracker to make sure they aren`t satilites. Its alot of work to keep up with all that is out there.

I don`t know why you are so all knowing in attitude, the stars have been around for eons its not as if they are strangers to me or many utube readers ect. The band across the out of focus Sirius was interesting.
is that a quirk with your lens or has that only occurred with Sirius?
Sometimes an out of focus bloom can give a spectroscopy of a star or Galaxy.
However much i would like them to exist, I think i would have more Chance of seeing a fairy than a UFO.
A lifetime of looking skyward has brought many strange things to my lens. but nothing i could call Life.

First, you have to state the exact time you recorded the object (time zone or UTC). What Lat. and Lon. you are at and what direction you are looking. If you can't see the horizon, then you will also have to state how high the object was from the horizon in deg. You also need to take the camera off of auto focus. To do this focus on a distant light untill it is in focus, then turn off auto.
I strongly recommend getting Stellarium from my home page.

Most UFO sightings can be explained, and it annoys me considerably when people create hoaxes just to see how stupid people can be to believe them. Fuzzy lights aside, there are many accounts of commercial and military pilots who have witnessed large orbs and solid objects moving in a controlled manner. I am a skeptic when it comes to UFO sightings, but there are many such occurences that just can't be explained or ignored. To do so would be a great mistake. It's possible we are being studied.

I assume this is taken at night? I seen a few objects in the sky when I was a kid and it scared me silly. They say kids have a sort of sixth sense for this sort of thing. Not sure what made me look at the sky but I saw a convoy of 5-6 'objects' flying in and out of the stars across the night sky and into the distance - You seen anything like that? This was say 25 years ago now, jesus I'm getting old!

I'm afraid U R quite incorrect in your final analysis.
I 1st found the UFO subject was true when in Vietnam in '67. Since my then, I have researched the UFO subject and I can assure U that there is much more than circumstantial evidence.
My interests include; UFO encounters in our Space Shuttle program and UFO incursions over Nuclear weapons insallations. The witnesses in these cases were A.F. officers & Astronauts.

O'Leary said, somebody came running in from outside yelling that there was a huge UFO hovering right over the building. He said not one...not 1 of those guys got up & went outseide to see it!!

The clouds seen at 2:00 seem to be noctilucent clouds - clouds observed in special conditions at very high altitudes. As for the others: if you're using a tripod it's possible wind is just making it shake as you take photos, create the various effects you see. Also, the turbulent atmosphere tends to distort and refract images of planets, stars. Just a thought.

OK Redshift40 explain this. On four different ocassions spanning many years I have personally seen 5 different UFO's and on each occasion have been fortunate to have many witnesses to verify the events. Not saying they came from outer space, could be black ops. But on one occasion I was within 50 metres of two airborne craft. Faint buzzing sound only.

well i can´t tell you about orbs or so, because i never seen any. but i can tell you that in the sky where i live, for most a year by now i see almost everyday small lights, that look really like a star. but there´s one thing. they are 2 or 3 and move in many directions, make no sound at all, sometimes emit stronger light and its not a plane or helicopter known by me. and i see a lot of planes in the sky too. i really dont know what is and don´t like it.

well i don´t know what an iridium satellite is, but i know that a "common" satellite moves in a straight line, and i have identified a few. but what i am talking about does things like turn back instantly 180º in their trajectory. i think a satellite can´t do that... and they change altitude either, i´ve seen them about 500 meters from ground to 2-3 km high. but even with binoculars can´t identify what it is. believe me, sometimes my heart rate increases a lot

I just can't see that aliens would be interested in us, seeing as the galaxy must be teeming with life. We are probably just another statistic in the grand scheme of things.
