needs snow tires, any powerful care with performance tires will suck in the snow, Its called lack of traction. What a strange concept to some of the poster on here.
My SRT-6 is doing fine during winter here in South Texas! Yesterday, I caught a coworker out in the parking lot staring at it, while smiling and fantasizing about getting one over some motorcycle he was thinking about. All I get is rave reviews and stoopeed jealousy remarks about how I "think I'm the only one who's cool at work". Huh? Never knew where that one came from...
Summer tires. That guy must have been visiting from out of town. Go back to Miami! My Srt-6 Crossfire with AllSeason tires does fine in a few inches of snow.
Exactly, if you're operating a wide-tired sports car with summer rubber on a 19 inch rim, you're asking for trouble. I'm considering getting an SRT-6 over a BMW Z4 but living in Toronto, you can bet I'm going to throw winter tires on the thing during the snow months.
Main problem is that he probably had Summer performance tires on it. I have an SRT6 (even more HP and torque) with all season radials on it and it did fine in fresh snow and street slush/ice going through Flagstaff, Arizona on 4th & 5th of January, 2007.
Wide, high performance tires on a RWD car means getting stuck like this on a LEVEL STREET. All that power is useless if you can't get it to the ground. The Crossfire needs four narrow snow tires and 330 pounds in the trunk. Then it'll be fine.
i wonder if he flipped the switch to w instead of s.

Haha! It is true, my Crossfire suffered a similar incident. I regularly cruise with a friend of mine who is a total Citroën 2CV (Ugly Duck) aficinado.
When we are on the road together I often throw bread at his car just to encourage it to drive faster.
Well, in the snow he literally drove circles around me "throwing salt" at the car, just to melt the snow so it could move faster.
I nearly pissed my pants of laughter!
To tell you the truth, the 2cv is the better car.
