  • I'm having problems spotting the "normal" in their technique.. I saw a bunch of "crappy", but no "normal"

Gonna go look for "awesome" now, this was boring..

  • recorded with a coffeemaker.

  • What a load of crap

  • Why is the Karateka doing TKD sine-wave, BOUNCING DOES NOT WORK.

  • - -* bad

  • maybe he means stupid fighter

  • ooohhh, ok so a normal fighter is someone who doesnt know shit. anyone could do that.

  • totally crappy video...

  • totally

    crappy video...

  • hiiiiYAH!!!

  • an insult to karate...i train in Shotokan and this really depresses me...ugh....i guess i'm spoiled with literally one of the top dojos in america for the last 35 years....am i spoiled with a great Sensei or do i not have right to be angered by this bs on youtube?

  • I guess karate guys are just not normal then :D

  • Anyone else wanna smash this karate wannabe, for beating up a fat kid and thinking he is cool?

  • @susie2292

    ME!! :D dumb white kids

  • @susie2292 me and 3 other people. susie2292, do you do karate? If so, what style?

  • C'mon....he's not normal. He's fat and he can barerly move his feet.

Plus he trying to use some kind of kick boxing / mt moves...and failing badly.

  • amateur

  • lol karate dude is booboo

  • What's your style? Oh I'm actually just normal =)

  • Lame

  • The most painful part about this video is the quality.

  • sum1 please define normal fighting for me

  • @H3DHUNT3R

its just a kid who put on some gloves and think he is a fighter

  • lolol i know huh.

  • I'd fuck up both of them easy.

  • both idiots should die

  • I'm a tenth degree blackbelt in "normal"...

  • @Itsnattatooma my ass

  • hahaha this video is funny, looks like some extreme workout programme for the fat guy in yellow :)

  • u guys blow both of u

  • karate judo and muay thai and BJJ are the best martial arts

  • karate? why karate? its almost like Muay Thai when used in a real fight except Muay Thai has a much stronger clinch and uses mainly roundhouses instead of a variety of kicks but it takes out the dumb stuff that karate has like katas for example

  • @hazard2000 see ur nieve u dont take either martial art so u wuldnt no i happen to be trained in all of them so need to learn allitle before you reply back

  • And how exactly are kata dumb?

In my personal opinion kata is beneficial for learning how to control your movements, improve strength and flexability, and really does embody the style.

Also, Muay Thai fighters like to block mid level attacks with the legs, and high strikes by evading and using the shoulders, it doesn't focus on enhancing inner strength so much as Karate.

Every martial art has it's ups and downs, it's the skill of the fighter that counts.

  • katas are extremely dumb, hardly any of best fighters in the world do katas, maybe a small amount of a shadow boxing but no katas

  • unless you can find any information to disprove the fact that kata are beneficial and can find evidence against my above stated arguements, you don't really have an arguement there. A lot of the best fighters in the world do kata. Just not your UFC fighters that you love so much. I think I know a bit more about the martial arts world, at least within the organization I'm part of and it's rivals, than you do.

  • what organization are you a part of? Pussy Point Sparring is us? show me how katas are effective? maybe if they're use was modified ex. using 2 people, one guy throws a punch the other blocks, but just standing there, throwing your hands in the air isnt going to be near as good a workout as heavybag training and you will also become a better fighter faster from heavybag training, than you would doing katas, katas made sense when the only thing you had to train on was trees, not so much in 2010.

  • Muay thai fighters dont enhance there inner strength? thats why they do shin and elbow strengthing techniques everyday right? Lets see some karateka kicking banana trees or checking kicks untill your shins are so bruised you can hardly walk, Muay thai fighters are much more strong mentally and physically than karatekas it was proven in the 1990's by a magazine called black belt that they are also in better shape and have a higher tolernce to pain than karateka

  • okay....living proof of the shin thing right here....I do Okinawan Goju Ryu...You know, that one with the exercise to supplement one of those "wimpy" kata called Sanchin.

When you do the kata Sanchin, and do Shimei, the exercise, your entire body has to be so tense you're sore in the morning all over if you do it right. Shimei just makes the soreness come faster because you're continually getting hit in almost every point on your body that'll hurt.

  • Plus, if you're basing this on 20 year old information, it's probably not as accurate anymore. Martial arts changes a lot over 1 year. Let alone 20. I'm not saying Muay Thai isn't awesome, but don't go dissing other martial arts that do kata just because they do kata. It's all about the skill of the fighter, not the martial art they practice. Kata hold every technique in the entire martial art. From basic punches to throwing manuevers and joint locks/one hit kills. They do their job just fine.

  • @hazard200 You obviously don't fight in a scripted way such as with a Kata, but they're there for a reason, when you fight the first thing you want to avoid is to waste time thinking what to do, a kata helps you react instead of thinking at the wrong moment.

One should always research before making a comment like that.

  • Where is karate??? XD

    This is not karate

  • what is a "normal fighter?"

  • @chrokeii lol srsly

  • HEY GUYS!!!!! guess what?????? it dosent really matter what style you do cause know a days everyone has fucking weapons... i do judo and yeah id probably be able to defend myself against an unarmed attacker... but anyone who is usually attacked, robbed, mugged etc has been held up by somone with a weapon.... SO what im trying to say is "it dosent matter if youre the best in the world at every single fighting style cause if the other guy has a gun and knows how to use it your fucked" ^^) big time

  • @bloodymarry667 actulay.....in aikido, judo, and other arts like them. if some one holds a gun TO YOUR HEAD, OR ANY WHERE ON YOUR BODY, you can sill kick there fucking ass. so dont say if some one pulls a gun ur fucked, only if they pull one, and is standing a good few feet away are you fucked.

  • maybe u could disarm them.... and beat the living shhit out of them (fun i know)

but what is the point and why risk ure life? when all their after is some cash? sure it'd be a bumber if u lost ur phone and some money but hey at least ure still alive and not dead on the floor with a bullet in u!

so i say give em what they want... stalk them find a bigger gun and then put a gun to their head and say who's winning now biatch?

  • you bring up a very good point. you could let them have what they want, if they would settle for that. but in most cases they will beat the hell outta you, kill you, or rape you even AFTER you gave them what they want. and also iv also found that not that many muggers use guns. more of a knife, mace, brass knuckle kinda trade. and thoes weps are even easyer to over throw. and on that note if u just sit there and take it, then they think they can get away with it. witch is a shame. but whatev..:)

  • @bloodymarry667

I must agree with you on that. there's to much assuming and guessing to take the risk you are right. You have to guess the mugger doesn't know how to use the gun or you even assume the mugger doesn't know how to fight also. People assume the mugger is carrying only one gun when they could have 2 or a gun and a knife for backup in case someone tries to take their weapon away. You are right why take the risk? I'm with you on that.

  • thanks glad someones on my side!!!

  • I just call it how I see it. I'm a very logical person and it seems you are as well. Just like a street fight you never know what will happen. Assuming things can get you killed. Hell what if there is more than one mugger? One could be there that you don't see for backup and then both muggers will probably kill you slowly (beating you up) because they are pissed off ya know? Just because people rob you it doesn't mean that they are idiots, it means that they are dishonest of course though :)

  • Because, a mugger cant afford two guns, a mugger is some useless peice of shit drug addict that borrowed a .22 from his friend.

  • Unfortunately your assumption could cost your life. A person cannot assume anything about someone they have never met. Especially a dishonest lowlife person that they never met. That's just the way I look at it. If a mugger has one friend that's willing to give him a gun, then why can't he borrow another gun from another friend so he has two? Now you assuming that they only have one friend and one gun. Whole lotta assumptions LOL!

Just take out some money and throw it. Then Run screaming!

  • fuck all styles.just finish em up.destroy em!

  • In the end, that's the reality.

I practice lots of styles, and I never take that to a street fight.

  • actually i do believe in style nowadays.i manage to use my tkd somehow..but its because im fast and strong and i know how to do timing..bfore i know timing all my attacks is like useless like shit!couldnt hit them!fuck!after that i try other styles, karate and judo..

  • then i figure out thats not the case..i came back to tkd,and try to think whats wrong.looks like its because i lack confidence in the style and timing..the object is moving but the pad is not,so when i spar,i feel unconfident because the opponent is moving,my power that crush em although in training is 100% but in fight only less than 5%.

  • my instructor then teaches me how to time and power at the same time.the next time i fight BOOM!ha3..i feel so satisfied ..now not only i can hit my opponent fast, accurate, but also with POWERR!!gahaha!!now thank god i believe in my style again..looks like 5 years of blood, sweat and tears of mine really pays off..if you dont believe me its okay..but i advise not give up in any style you take..but if u still cant figure it out..just FUCK YOUR OPPONENT WITH ANYTHING YOU GOT!HAHAHAHA

  • Haha, thanks I will.

  • i do not see karate muay thai and all the other martial arts as styles, it would be a diffrent type of fighting if we had 3 arms and 5 legs, martial arts with the same is just bringing out potential to exspress yourself

  • like bruce lee says THE BEST STYLE IS NO STYLE.........THERE IS NO BEST MARTIAL ART THEY ALL HAVE FLAWS

  • thats rediculous they are diffinately different styles

  • yes i know ... please when you've studyed muay thai for 5 years and had exspirience in karate , i wish you to comment then , speak to you in 6 years dumbass

  • and by the way saying '' kick him in his fucking head then laughing is not the way to teach students you fool... i hope you'r not there master if you came to my muay thai gym and talked that crap you'd get your ass kickedman drop the attitude

  • your right about this video though if this if this is the way this guy is teaching his students .....to be jerks... then he is not a good karate sensi. also picking a fight with a person that does not know any fighting style is bull if that were me i would have kicked the guy out of my dojo or gym but instead he accepts to fight him to show how tough he is in front of his students.

this video giving karate a bad name dude

real karate fighters are not like that.

  • i did not say muay thai is better,i did not say karate is better,my point was saying, teaching your students to be cunts in the making is not only dissraspectful to karate but to your students

  • What is a "normal" fighter.

  • Lol listen to the camera man and the "karate fighter". come try sparring at my thai gym and see how you get on. For being such little dicks I'd make you fucking cry.

  • exsactly...muay thai would demolish karate ... muay thai is so full on..karate is just ... boring in a sense but i respect the art alot , just made out to what it isnt karate is a amazing defensive art..muay thai is deadly and not to be used unless needed and muay thai fighters are the most conditioned fighters on this planet

  • karate is a good fighting style and i love muay thai as well but your comment was a bit ignorant tors martial arts . karate is a deadly martial as well i have seen karate vs muy muay thai fights and they are both equal in combat it depends on the fighter. Also karate does have good conditioning maybe instead of putting more of your focus on the style you know more about maybe you look at different fighting fighting styles not to tell which one is better or worst but to know more about M-A

  • lol what a coward

  • lmao i wanna spar that karate guy i would kick his ass so easily. he's off balance and my thai kicks would leave him on the ground

  • how beat ya just run in, and beat the crap outta him?

  • right on

  • haha normal fighter? laughing my ass off ^^

  • bad video, bad language

  • the guy in the black is using sport karate. its a more light hearted and used in sport only. it would only be semi effective in a real fight as apposed to self defence karate which is much more effective.

  • is this an arobic session or?

  • this black guy is not even a fighter

  • are you blind

  • 2 fags playing with eah other

  • catch his f'n leg! throw his ass on da ground! lol!

  • lol, thats what ya do when ya fight a coky kung fu retard who thinks they can beat up everyone :D

  • no one likes the uk 1 outa 5 go cry to ur "mum"

  • A normal fighter might be someone other that an abnormal fighter!

  • just what exactly is a "NORMALFIGHTER" ???

the fuck this match is shitty, the cameraman is even shittier and the competators have no skills at all

  • One of those boys are going to end up crying.

  • ive done shotokan karate for eight years and practiced both point scoring and full contact. point scoring technique will not win u a fight in the street, point scoring teaches u control and not to hurt the oponnent, not what u need in the street.

  • like toy soldiers

  • bullshit...fat bastard got no chance against the girl.

  • shit happen.

  • Bull.

  • Trash ¬¬'

  • Bobby Normal Fighter should be in Tekken 6.

  • Whats a normal fighter?

  • One with no training in any sort of fighting whatsoever...

  • How do you define a "normal" fighter exactly? someone with no combat experience? someone who has never been taught? I guarentee you some of th eguys i grew up with, with no "training" would batter you with a guard like that lol karate 4tl

  • Lawl, someone with no combat experience vs someone who has experience in contact realistic training martial art, martial art will own.

  • so when u say going going beserk does that mean with ur hands up cus if u come running into me ima throw a 1,2,1 combo

  • u know what the best style is. to not think about what damn style yr gonna use and just move yr damn arms and legs must u have a paper on how to do that? just go totally berserk and it's hard to loose. unless yr really small and trying to fight someone really big ofc haha in that case forget whatever I just said.

  • That's probably the stupidest advice for fighting ever. Actually, that's the fastest way to lose.

  • You can tire out quickly from reckless swinging, causing you to drop your guard and lose the fight

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS A "NORMAL" FIGHTER?

  • The only thing you have a degree in is stupidity and making asinine public statements. Foot-in-mouth disease is in your genes. If you wish to term your martial arts skills as impotent against trained boxers then who am I to disagree?! But don't speak for the rest of the martial arts world please. You may be a limp-wristed creme puff with short mans syndrome, but the rest of us are capable of neutralizing even good boxers. What an ass clown. Do you juggle and do magic tricks too? LMAO!

  • Foolish, uninformed, and absurdly over-generalized statement. Why don't you stop in to your neighborhood dojo and test out your asinine theories and then report back here your findings after your dentures are fitted and your hands are able to type again. What an ass clown.

  • unlike you I'm not some fat keyboard warrior that earned a blackbelt at a kids karate school in a mall. I have a 2nd degree black belt in TKD and I have years of experience in Muay Thai and boxing under several different world champions and trainers. So get your facts straight before you get mad that you can't lift your leg past your stomach.

  • The only thing you have a degree in is stupidity and making asinine public statements. Foot-in-mouth disease is in your genes. If you wish to term your martial arts skills as impotent against trained boxers then who am I to disagree?! But don't speak for the rest of the martial arts world please. • LOL it seems that you dont understand anything about this things.

What about goju-ryu karate? have you ever tryed?

kyokushin karate came from the goju-ryu style.

  • theyre both fucking terrible

  • Some clubs go full contact, but most don't. The club I'm in has moderate contact to the body, but none to the head for understandable reasons

  • ive seen this fight on youtube already but it was boxing vs karate and why would a karate fighter and a street fighter be fightting in a boxing ring you fucking goof

  • omfg karate boy is a looser

  • This is WKF karate clearly, he's just kicking with his front leg his guards aren't up, and every time he goes in with a technique instead of following up with more attacks he just steps back again.

  • wow karate guy sucks ass, u can stop a random charge like that buy just getting into a back stance fast, grab the head and knee... or just sweep the retard... also the karate guy cant kick for shit either, stop making vids of ur friends they cant fight at all, a 4 year old white belt could kick both there ass's

  • If the "normal" fighter weren't bigger than the karate fighter, then he wouldn't get any touch on him at all. The ring really cuts off the karate fighters space, and gives the bigger guy the advantage of body weight.

And btw, what the hell do you mean by "normal" fighter? There is no such thing.

  • what's a normal fighter? A brawler?

  • i want to see "karate vs abnormal fighter"

  • There is a Eminem song in this song "toy soldirs" ITS COPYRIGHT !?

  • Brits are crazy lol

  • this is bullshit, this man doesnt deserve to study any kind of Martial Art. This makes me sick

  • Ya... This was obviously just some friends screwing around. "Karate" guy was lame and "normal" fighter obviously wasn't a fighter at all. The title sounded cool, but the video was pretty weak...

  • this is bull

  • This is shit, You clearly have no respect for the martial art, the person "trained" in "karate" should know better than this, there is no etiquette in this martial art, and apart from the person shouting at the "fighters" there was no noise from either fighter, how did you get past your first grading if you don't have etiquette and respect for the sport.

From Hix at Black Dragon Federation UK

  • I agree.

  • if you treat karate as a sport your an idiot any way. karate is a deadly art and a way of life for some people

  • karate is fighting the thing about etiquette and sport is so for pussies who are afraid of full contact and for soccer moms who drop off there kids to daycare

  • no. soo wrong.. obviously your a typical person you dont shine above the rest. your opinions bare resemblence with the people who would mug you in the street after taking drugs because your life is so rubbish. now shut up. karate is about restraint and ettiquette as much as it is about fighting

  • lol karate was made for people to defend themselves you are a person who thinks martial arts is about etiquette will get there ass beat. And restraint would get you killed

  • your correct karate was made as a mechanism to assasinate people who attacked okinawa royalty. however 1. in the modern society. in england any way if you use karate you can be charged for assult in a second degree the same as using a weapon. 2. it is a far greator victory to subdue the enemy without fighting... fighting is a last resort and usualy if your reluctant to fight you will walk away not having to had to fight. if you have to fight then never mind you would win.

  • i believe its better to talk your way out of fights but there are people on drugs and are drunk. i like you to see you talk your way out of someone on pcp or crack

  • Yea right ;)

    keep on dreaming kiddo.

Karate if done properly is an very effective martial art.

if you're one of those "mma=win" dudes, check out lyoto machida. incredible win-lose ratio in the ufc and is an shotokan karate-ka.

We train hard, we spar hard, we go full contact in training.

competitions are based on point matches thought, so there you have to focus on your defense big time and use good technique's to get the other down.

  • i dont think karate is bs but if u show etiquette u will end up getting your ass kicked and lyoto machida hasnt got a single knock out in the ufc

  • UFC= sport event, nothing more nothing less.

if it's about knock outs ;) as long as the other is unable to attack you after you're done with him an knock out is not necessary.

Etiquette, if you mean the whole "bow" thing etc, ofc we do that in 'duels' and when practicing, an self defense situation it's simply 'oh, you attack me? *Bang* end fight.'

Njtr: Mje, fun on someway but irritating on the other side. allways hate to see people feed their ego with this kinda things ;)

  • I've been having this same argument on here for a while. Some how many people seem to believe, ("MMA" especially) that a real karate guy is going to stand in front of them like Ralph Machio in the "crane technique" (whatever the hell that is/Hollywood), and that all we do is point fighting. I know my instructor never allowed that. Oh well... let them keep believing that. Some people need to learn the hard way. They are walking makiwares. Its funny to hear some of these comments.

  • im not saying karate sucks i am saying most karate sucks and i wouldn't recommend a car that would not start up most of the time. i agree it is nice to bow before sparring but u when you get in a fight or if someones attack you they are not gonna bow.

  • njtr your facts are wrong there are some people in mma with karate as one of their arts George Saint Pierre he is wleterweight champion even though he is really good at bjj, wrestling, and boxing he uses kyokushin karate,Lyoto Machida (even though he doesn't have a knock out in the ufc i like his tactics though),Chuck lidell's first art was karate, Frank Mir has a background in kenpo karate even though he is a sub specialist, seth petruzeli even though he couldnt win in the ufc he still beat kimbo

  • I'm not saying anything bad about MMA. It is good to be a well rounde fighter. I'm just saying that a lot of MMA fighters like to put down karate, when as you said, in many cases karate is part of MMA. But I appreciate your comment, because it helps show the effectiveness of karate. I think Chuck Lidell has a kenpo tattoo is I'm not mistaken. Happy Thanksgiving.

  • The only karate that I can comment on is Shotokan, and I'll put it up against ANY style, any day of the week! But that's because it works for me. Other styles work for other people, and I'm sure they feel the same way about their style. As for the bowing, that is a dojo formality. Without courtesy, their is no dojo. Of course no one is going to bow before a fight. Me personally, I love karate, and I just go with the flow, if I have to bow before I can learn, I bow. That shouldn't stop anyone.

  • Where do you get the idea that karate guys don't go full contact?

  • not that many guys go full contract even though some do. Kyokoshin karate is known as the hardest form of karate and when they go full contact they dont punch the face. Shotokan Karate is mostly sport these days cause of point sparring which is a lot better than most martial arts they have head contact however it is all about who gets the first hit if u train shotokan sparring you will get really good at tactic like lyoto but you will not be very aggressive.

  • shotokan is not really aggressive cause u are actually using your brain which you don't see that often in combative sports. ive met a bad ass a while ago who has a 2nd dan in shotokan and taekwondo who also did muay thai. i did not really know him i just saw him at a seminar. he could mess people up badly. he was using textbook karate foot work, tkd kick counters, all sorts of strikes, and a deadly thai clinch

  • the reason we see a small amount of traditional arts in mma is cause 80 percent of traditional martial arts places suck. you hear stuff like it depends on the person not the style that is true except it doesnt really matter if u train in dead patterns, kick air all day,to much time on katas, not sparring,no aliveness in your training, poor conditioning, fat black belts, people getting belts they dont deserve,

  • also a lot of people who do asian arts dont think they need to cross train. you hear thing like it was used by farmers, monks, samurai, chinese and korean warriors using them. that might be true but it doesnt mean shit it the 21 century. karate aint gonna help you on the ground and wrestling. every martial arts has its place and uses if trained properly

  • i don't agree with alot that you've said, but i'll focus on your last statemant "karate aint gonna help you on the ground" which may be true but judo, bjj, wrestling aren't going to help you standing up. and in real fights you don't wont to be rowling around on the ground. so as a sport karate is lacking a certain brutality, but as a form of self defence it's perfectly sooted.

  • how can you defend yourself against multiple opponents when you can not handle a decent white belt in bjj. US Rangers use bjj.wrestling takedowns where used in by greek, spartans, and romans so where submissions. Most techniques in kata are never practice correctly. the basics in traditional Japanese arts and Chinese martial arts where combined and used in WW1 by British Commandos and you see those moves all the time in kata but never in sparring.

  • mma is as close to a real fight as you can get without actually breaking a law. Karate is good but it needs to be trained properly. They should look like kyokushin guys or kickboxers. Karate isnt gonna help you defend a takedown or fight off your back. But it has good kicks and some styles have wicked sweeps. wrestling and judo will help you standing up cause the average person would get slammed in the clinch. If a wrestler is able to get a grip on someone who can not sprawl then they are fucked

  • all your moves in kata are useless unless you use them under pressure against a fully resistant sparring partner.

  • your focusing on the sport side of MA's, but karate was never designed to be used for sport, which is why the majority of techniques in karate can't be used. in the style i train we practice strikes to the throte, neck and side of the knees, but these strikes can't be used in sport because there too dangerous. and the reason they teach grappleling styles is because there easy to learn and quick to get good at.

  • in the style i train we also do thows and sweeps (which aren't in kyokushin), so in a clinch we could easily put a kyokushin or kickboxer on the ground.

  • those throws and sweeps are useless unless u use them against a fully resistant opponent. Out of all the karate guys who switched to mma only one has used them sweep effectively (lyoto machida). A kyokushin guy trains body shots and knees from the clinch so dont get to cocky. In early ufc there were no rules and karate didnt win a single ufc tournament. grappling is just as hard as striking and are not easier to learn.

  • grappling is taught to airborn rangers cause it is effective not easy to learn. karate is alright if trained properly but it aint gonna help with take downs or take down defense. Either would help you if a guy was on top of you. If you wonna learn a little bit of both you should try judo. And you should also test your striking out to evaluate your striking on a muay thai or a kickboxer. Judo is cheap and you should try it

  • kyokushin guys do train strikes from the clinch, but they don't punch or elbow to the head and cause of this they seem to leave themselves open. and comparing a style to the early days of UFC is pointless, the mojority of fighters then were hobby fighters and not in full time training. and this is a problem in karate, most people who do karate do it for self defence and fun, not for competetions and mma matches.and grappleling is taught because it's easy to learn effectively.

  • tell a college wrestler or bjj black belt that grappling is easy.Gerard Gordeau was in the first ufc and he was a kyokushin champion and a pro kickboxer. If you think a wrestling is easy then your on steroids. wrestling is the hardest sport i have ever done. Most shotokon dojos train point sparring so most places throw soft wimpy strikes. your karate training is not gonna make you a Lyoto Machida.

  • i suggest you try judo cause it is cheap. judo will teach you great throws/takedowns and some submissions. However with judo dont expect to tap a bjj guy.

  • theres people half my size at my karate club and they punch and kick harder than me, so you've obviously never faught a good karateka if you think they throw "soft wimpy strikes". and i already do judo, which may come as a surprise to you, and for ground control judo beats bjj.

  • whats the point in hitting hard in point sparring and judo ground control is not as good as bjj ground control. Is that why karo and dong hyun kim train bjj as well as judo. I highly doubt you do judo cause all you were talking about was how you would use your karate in the clinch. Most judo is about the ippon not the submissions. A person who does judo wouldnt call grappling easy.

  • grappling is techniquely easy to pick up, not physically easy, and bjj comes from judo so basically bjj is a watered down version of judo. and like i said before, in karate we use sweeps and some throws which are in judo, and cause i've been doing karate longer i'm used to refering to the sweeps from karate.

  • i know bjj comes from judo butt i wouldnt say watered down. With that logic you could say judo is a watered down version of Japanese Jujitsu and karate is a watered down version of ti. Dont expect to be able to use those throws unless you pressure test them. the only way to pressure test judo throws is by rolling with a judo guy.

  • what i mean is that they've got different emphasis on ground and stand up. and i have rolled with a judo guy and popped my knee out doing it, lol he was 20kg lighter and polish, how humiliating :)

but i'll be back testing myself in a month. but are you testing your mental and phisical skills, or just your finger skills.

  • i test all those attributes. Dont expect to test your self with a judo guy unless you have trained with aliveness. I suggest you watch some of Matt thorton's videos to know what aliveness is all about.

  • in judo and karate we practice aliveness, but in karate we do alot of one step sparring because you just can't practice it for real. and as my sensei said, "if you want to test yourself, go to a bar and find the biggest guy in there, and push his pint over"." although that'd probbably get you arrested". and that is the only true way to practice your practical skill.

  • why cant you go full contact. You dont do judo you can tell cause your idiot when it comes to grappling based on your former comments.

  • i do judo dickhead, and by the sounds of it you don't. and you obvioiusly don't know jack shit cause there is full contact karate, and i'm not talking about kyokushin, it's just in sepparate competitions. so stop talking crap and actually try the style.

  • a person who says grappling is easy must do judo. You just said you did point sparring not full contact. Full contact is not common in today's karate world. Earlier you said "in karate we use sweeps and some throws which are in judo" you didnt say you did judo you said you did throws similar to judo. No need to talk about dicks cause dicks have nothing to do with this conversation. There is full contact karate but my opinion of full contact is continuous sparring with head punches.

  • Show me a video of full contact karate and i can tell you what is wrong with it

  • and your on youtube, look for the fuckin vid youself.
