I knew nothing about this until today's interview on Talk of the Nation. Good interview, and keep up the good work! (Although I would like to have seen the fake bird outfit!)
Was this filmed near their winter home in the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge? Although the fog was thick I thought I saw the hammocks and Seven Cabbage Cutoff in the background (my favorite canoeing area).
I found interest into this migration assistance program after watching the movie "Fly Away Home". I missed the opportunity of a lifetime when an aided migrating flock landed on a small airstrip in Dawson, Georgia. It was too late to observe such a spectacular phenomenon when finally heard the news.
Do you think there is a chance you’ll be landing in the southwest part (or any) of Georgia anytime soon? I sure would like to be able to witness such an occurrence!
I migrated from Sailplanes to Trikes when i saw Fly Away Home Years Ago, so now i fly the rocky mountains ...is awe inspiring to see ur site and videos here:) thanks:)... Quarksire ...aka Windrydr:)
Hi there! Yes, actually! we travel the entire length of Illinois... We enter the state in Winnebago County, and exit leaving White County. From there we head into Marshall County, Kentucky.
Yes, I read about this in my paper. They were landing in my county in Alabama but never did hear if they did or not. The paper said dependind what the weather was like or something if they were gonna be able to stop here. It'd been cool to have seen for sure.
We're currently still grounded in Franklin County, AL so dependind on which county you're in, we could still be coming through. We've broken camp until Dec. 30th when we'll start up again. Stay tuned....
One beautiful clip! Wish it was longer, but the pilots have all they can do to look at the tiny screen through their costume masks and take aim while flying!
Please post more when you can. Please tell the guys... Joe, Chris, Brooke or Richard... whomever shot it that it is most appreciated! THANKS!
