To get those ippon sweeps is actually difficult and I meet very few people who can do it as compared to the number that hit ippon seoinage or uchimata on a regular basis. Obviously a lot of people use sweeps to set up throws and the like but very few can use it to win on a regular basis. IMO its because brute strength helps very little in sweeps so its harder to muscle thru but that's just my opinion.

You can find a dozen videos here of judo sweeps yielding an Ippon (full point) which cleanly ended the match.

I can't believe anyone for a second would think a yuko scored sweep is the best in the world?

just cos it scored a yuko doesnt mean its bad. i've seen plenty of ippon footsweeps that are pretty bog standard. it was a good footsweep, except that he only had one hand on, so uke could turn out a bit. he moved uke well and timed the sweep very well.

I've likely gotten a half dozen ipon sweeps in matches, dozens in practice, seen hundreds in other matches, etc. And I've done several with only one hand on my opponent. I've likely seen ten thousand yuko scoring sweeps. They are so common they aren't worth mentioning.
