To be totally honest, i like the graphics of the wii. It brings back memories about old games where no one cared about graphics except good gameplay. I'm not saying other consoles are bad, it's just that the wii takes me back with a modern feel to it.

the storyline reminds me of the book "black Order" by James Rollins. The begining where they are on the mountain and the monks go crazy with this weird desease.
While I agree that the gameplay is more important, I believe the aesthetics of a game is still essential to the overall experience. I would be lying to myself if I said graphics are not important.
when i first saw the case i thought it looked a lot like "penumbra" and it got me excited. but after watching the trailers i'm somewhat dissapointed. it doesn't really look very enjoyable.
well, im not gonna lie to you, its not the next penumbra, but it does (at times) feel like it. while there is no "Red" there is a small bit of commentary by the main character, which gets more crazy the further up the mountain you climb, i dont remember any puzzles, except some "figure out how to rest this spirit" stuff, but overall, i liked the game, not gold, but it gets a silver, and is a truly atmospheric game, i recommend it.

Also, the motion sensitivity puts the Wii in an entirely different league. It's not just some gimmick used for a few casual games. Most hardcore games on the Wii uses it heavily.

It is idiotic because you're basing your comparison on popular myth without checking if you're right. Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and The Conduit, to name a few, could NEVER work on a PS2. At least not without getting butchered graphically.

i don't care about statements.. if nintendo says you could fly and crap ice cream would you believe that too? yes it may be slightly better than the x box but still its not the best there is... and THAT has the proof not just a statement to back it up :) so please quit being so anal about this and taking it personally.. i like the wii, i'm just saying it's not as good as sony, or microsoft graphically, plus the library isn't as impressive to be honest (not counting Tomb Raider: Underworld :P)
Nintendo didn't create the laws of physics or anything like that. They did, however, make the Wii. Your argument is hallow.
As for the graphics, I don't care. 360/PS3 games still plays like fifth generation games.
As for the library, if the Wii follows in the footsteps of the DS (which starts to seem more and more likely) by this time next year the Wii will have started catching up to the 360. Two years from now, the Wii will have left the 360 far behind.

Looks interesting. The scenario and story seems fresh and if the gameplay holds up this could become a very good game. The graphics are ok in my opinion - its a Wii-game.
To be fair, some Wii games suffer from such bad graphics that it almost gets hard to even play it, not saying that this is such game but Monster Hunter Tri is a perfect example of this.

Go play Tatsunoko Vs Capcom or Fatal Frame IV, because this game sucks. I've played it and it sucks, even the graphics suck. The Wii can do better than this. When Tatsunoko Vs Capcom comes out in America, go pick it up because it is sex. Street Fighter IV has nothing on TvC. Fatal Frame IV handles well on the Wii. I'd say the story and the graphics are fifty times better than Cursed Mountain. The controls are flawless, and its a better survival horror.

check out the conduit for the wii if you want to see good graphics on the wii. it's impressive that they're doing and makes you a little frustrated why there aren't more games for the wii with better looking graphics. hopefully developers will wise up.
Is it any wonder why NINTENDO is still in the market today up against corpoarate giants like Microsoft and Sony. How do they do this? Well, of course their games graphics aren't as superior; hell they're not even realtime. Nintendo is still in the market because they mak games that are simply iconic, creative, artistic, and tend to stand aside from "countless" war/ shooting games that you see in almost every game for other councils.
Miyamoto's (creator of mario/Zelda) philosophy is to make games that are user friendly so anyone can play, you don't have to be a stay at home all day all nighter halo3 junkie (don't get me wrong HALO3 is one of the best games ever made, but you get my point.)
Normally I wouldn't spend this much time writng a reply to a poster, but if you think the WII is and was a dissapointment, you are missing ou on some really fun revolutionary gameplay emersion.
Now one more thing. I think Nintendo would make much better "looking" games if they made a system with processors in it, but they won't, because it's oo expensive and tehy want to make sure that their products are in a negotiable pricerange and not $600 as the PS3 was upon release. And you must remember Nintendo started off as a toy company, their sole purpose is to entertain not to be top dog on graphics and technology. This is to all Nay sayers of Nintendo. This is a poor capture of an early demo. But...Man! there's no way this looks like N64, statements like that are just ridiculous. You do know that this footage was still pre-alpha? Check IGN if you don't believe me, this game shows alot of promise even at its pre-alpha stage. The game will look much better once it releases, in an interview Deep Silver told IGN they are working really hard to push the wii's hardware and made a completely new engine for this game.

The conduit looks awesome and Deadly Creatures as well, but complaining doesn't do anything. Nintendo do not respond to that with any interest. The Wii is getting better anyway: HOTD Overkill, Bikini Zombie Slayers, Dead Rising, come on. The graphics on SM Galaxy and Brawl and Call of Duty: WaW are awsome. And I like Wii Music too. We need a balance. Wii rules.

I agree! When 2008 turned into such a drought, it felt like Wii was dead, and it didn't help that third party efforts were generally bad or simply casual. Now--just when everyone's starting to sell their Wiis--the system's starting to pick up steam in its library. It's too bad it's happening when the console itself is LOSING steam!

check out the conduit for the wii if you want to see good graphics on the wii. it's impressive that they're doing and makes you a little frustrated why there aren't more games for the wii with better looking graphics. hopefully developers will wise up.

Is it any wonder why NINTENDO is still in the market today up against corpoarate giants like Microsoft and Sony. How do they do this? Well, of course their games graphics aren't as superior; hell they're not even realtime. Nintendo is still in the market because they mak games that are simply iconic, creative, artistic, and tend to stand aside from "countless" war/ shooting games that you see in almost every game for other councils.

Miyamoto's (creator of mario/Zelda) philosophy is to make games that are user friendly so anyone can play, you don't have to be a stay at home all day all nighter halo3 junkie (don't get me wrong HALO3 is one of the best games ever made, but you get my point.)
Normally I wouldn't spend this much time writng a reply to a poster, but if you think the WII is and was a dissapointment, you are missing ou on some really fun revolutionary gameplay emersion.

Now one more thing. I think Nintendo would make much better "looking" games if they made a system with processors in it, but they won't, because it's oo expensive and tehy want to make sure that their products are in a negotiable pricerange and not $600 as the PS3 was upon release. And you must remember Nintendo started off as a toy company, their sole purpose is to entertain not to be top dog on graphics and technology. This is to all Nay sayers of Nintendo. Not just AkiraFollower.

got too say that it looks good. the graphics is like a high PS2 game. For the Wii the graphics looks good. But the controls and gameplay is what counts. Seems like alot of promising Wii titles are coming in 2009.

This is a poor capture of an early demo. But...Man! there's no way this looks like N64, statements like that are just ridiculous. Of course it's not going to look like a 360 or PS3 game, the Wii just isn't capable of that and was never built for that. But how do people try to get off with over-exaggerating "N64" comments...Zero credibility.
The game may or may not be crap time will tell. The story sounds great, and I think it will all come down to controls in the end.

You do know that this trailer is in pre-alpha, right? the graphics are going to be bad if a game is in pre alpha, I'm betting the developers are improving the graphics everyday, you could look for a new trailer and see what I mean

You do know that this footage was still pre-alpha? Check IGN if you don't believe me, this game shows alot of promise even at its pre-alpha stage. The game will look much better once it releases, in an interview Deep Silver told IGN they are working really hard to push the wii's hardware and made a completely new engine for this game.

@impscal: i only say bad stuff about bad wii games. If people continue to be satisfied with mediocre looking and playing wii games then no developer will ever step up to the plate. people need to complain enough so that nintendo doesnt screw us over like they did with the wii. Praise average looking games and the developer will have no incentive to try harder. I am looking forward to madworld, the conduit, and sin and punishment 2 btw.

The conduit looks awesome and Deadly Creatures as well, but complaining doesn't do anything. Nintendo do not respond to that with any interest. The Wii is getting better anyway: HOTD Overkill, Bikini Zombie Slayers, Dead Rising, come on. The graphics on SM Galaxy and Brawl and Call of Duty: WaW are awsome. And I like Wii Music too. We need a balance. Wii rules.

you have to admitt that dead rising wii is a disgrace. Only announced wii games im looking forward to is madworld and the conduit, but i respect your opinion. I just hope that the wii gets some better games because no matter how i look at it even without comparing graphics, ps3 and 360 have much superior games. Im just hoping that the wii gets some more AAA efforts. And i hope that nintendos next zelda is so great that it sets new standards in the industry. oh and a golden sun wouldnt hurt

Primogen, I was literally just thinking the same thing. This lineup of games could make the Wii the best system for FPS's and new, intuitive games in general. This game looks ridiculously scary as well. I am extremely looking forward to The Conduit

I agree! When 2008 turned into such a drought, it felt like Wii was dead, and it didn't help that third party efforts were generally bad or simply casual. Now--just when everyone's starting to sell their Wiis--the system's starting to pick up steam in its library. It's too bad it's happening when the console itself is LOSING steam!
