@crackkatt you do know a $200-300 PC can play rockstar games at the same quality and slightly higher resolution than consoles. look up cheap quad cores like A6, A8 and phenoms with decent graphics cards like radeon 5570, which is on sale for $30 right now. we just like to build high end PCs cause it's fun and we love 1080p and above resolutions, but beating this generation's consoles is extremely cheap and easy.

@boredutuber757 i dont think its such a bad idea. gta 4 puts more stress on the cpu and no so much on the gpu while cryengine/ crysis is a gpu intense game. most people still have last gen cpu's like core 2duo and core 2 quads cause not that many games take advantage of these poweful cpu with the exception of maybe gta 4 so because of that most people have an ok cpu and a badass gpu.

Cause honestly i've played crysis 1 and 2 and gears of war(cryengine and unreal) and haven't seen most of that. It's not the fact that it has destruction that's impressive, it's how detailed it is when you really look at it. But Red Faction has better destruction. The best in my opinion.

@pokealong1227 How did you not see destruction in Crysis 1, its one of the most destructible games to date, you can mow down a forest with a minigun, blow up an ENTIRE building, run a tank through an ENTIRE building, systematically destroy parts of a vehicle, slaughter wildlife with a minigun etc.

I cant find anything on the vehicles (or just can't be bothered looking hard enough) but you could shoot out their tires, windscreens and gas tanks.

And yeah Crysis 2 had really poor destructibility, don't think thats so much of an engine limitation as it is the whole console port situation.

It's all just scripted it just means they had more time to implement that detail. And crysis 2 had horrible destructibility, it could have had destruction on consoles to, but it didn't. The best destruction i've seen in games is Red Faction and The Force Unleashed.

@antho3001 I dont see why not, Cryengine natively supports a third person perspective and advanced body animations and it demonstrated in Crysis 2 that it can render city environments with high draw distances, fov and variability which are the most important aspects of a sandbox game. Engineering it to a sandbox environment wouldn't be excessively difficult especially considering Crytek intended for it to be a versatile engine. I mean cabal runs on CE3 already...

CryTek is something like Skynet from terminator, CryTek only showed up with a mind blowing engine in Crysis 1 and for some years there wasn't any game that was close to the CryEngine, and CryTek is kinda mysterious name, it really can be in the future like Skynet, i don't mean like making robot's etc, but some special equipment for army, for example like the suit of Crysis, with the cloaking mod, strength etc., they have already made a concept art...the Nanosuit, but in-game, and it can be real.
