Tornados are gonna be more common during winter due to Global Warming, however, Tornados can happen any day, any time, anywhere, and everyone needs to be ready for a twister whenever a warning should be issued.

What Global warming will do, however, is cause the storm systems to become stronger, which will cause twisters to also be stronger.

Global warming or not.. tornadoes are not that uncommon to happen in the winter,they can and do occur anywhere at any time of year if favorable conditions develop. Yes it is the most unfavorable time in general, but the jet stream is stongest at this time of year, along with the HUGE temp contrast with a stong storm. It can be 70-80s in arkansas and teens in iowa, with strong winter storm. That with moisture being pulled in from the gulf and some wind shear, and u got a winter tornado outbreak.

yea points taken,go to Glacier Park Montana from 1999 to 2007 and now and look at the changes taking place......how long before we ignore this problem and we pay BIG for it? I live in tornado alley,Iowa and was on the cold side of this but I have also seen tornadoes one day and snow the next but not like this. I do appreciate a mature comment smmikeman! Thank you!

I've been told that back in the 70's everyone was talking about Global COOLING. Now its WARMING... if you go look at a ave. temp of the earth graph for the past 100 years its full of ups and downs, for 10-20 years of cooler to 10-20 years of warmer.. just right now we are warmer, but it does happend to be the warmest on graph.

I did not say anyone can change the weather,it`s too late for that,however man has altered the weather for years,cloud seeding,burning fossil fuels,using and not giving back to earth. What gives you the idea you can mouth me off?

I live on Highway 28 near Dixon and the tornado sirens didn't go off until the last minute when it was too late.
