@UFMD1 well, the key is to find one which is not nasty. but it is true that whether you call it hotel, motel, or hostel it can be clean or nasty, depending on who is managing the place.

Other than the hostel dorms,(private rooms are expensive) which to me are kinda nasty, you can usually find a cheaper (and cleaner) hotel anyway.

i stayed in Hostels 1/4 of my life in NewZealand =) Well, it was a girls only Hostel, i really enjoyed it =)
