i also forgot to say get the nurse to put the gel on the site as well, mine tries to get it into the area as it helps it slide out better plus you can get some numbing gel to help with the pain but it does cause more pain to begin with!
its great to see it being done if you need to chat about it i have had mine for 3 ish years please email me on sexy_bambi@live.co.uk (sorry about the dodgy email dont want to give my personal one out as a lot of work mates dont know i have it)
im sorry i know you dont want to hear this but from the way i get mine changed she is doing it all wrong! :( firstly the cath should not be changed every 2 weeks, should be at least a month and if it get blocked you should get your bladder super cleaned! secondly all nurses must change the gloves from touching the first cath to the second or as i tell the new nurses out with the left hand in with the right but they must not cross contaminate the caths.
Good video but to deflate the balloon at start with a HALF FILLED syringe is kinda weird. Your nurse should use an empty syringe and a bit more sterile technique :)
@gajjuunz After 4 years being disabled Ive notice every nurse use different ways. Some nurses freaked me out and made me think if they knew what they were doing. So i can see your point of you. Trust me! Lol :)
@MRreptile13 Lol it looks painfull but i only feel a little bit of chills thats all. I use to self cath back in 2008 when i bearly got injured but i kept having accidents after i would cath so My urologist did a Urodynamics Test and im only able to hold about 2-300ml of urine in my bladder. So that means id have to cath every 2-3 hours if not ill start having accidents. So it was a mess.... Thats why i went with the SP tube cuz the indweling kept giving UTI's
@915power - Also look into a medicine called enablex. My neurologist prescribed it to me for bladder spasams because I would get to like 200-300 cc's before AD kicked in, now I'm up to 4-500 adn the AD comes just soon of when I really got to go.
Btw, I've been injured since 4/08, c4-5 complete. Check out this medicine I take which has helped me alot! watch?v=GP6g36UCI90
@severnmdman We more less have the same years being in disabled. Thats good to hear and i appreciate you sharing this information with me! Now i have a few things to ask my urologist about cuz you also mentioned botox.. Thanks a mill bro!!
@915power -- It's taken by pill up to 40mgs a day, no more or you can have seizures. And you have to build up on it slowly, like 10mgs the 1st two weeks than 15mgs the two after, etc.. I take a timed released formula 20 & 20. It's not sold in pharmacys. Mines made in Delaware-Hills drugstore/pharmacy in a lab. It's like $50.00 for 60 pills. Just get the literature off google and take it to your dr for a prescription, there's many different labs that can make it.....
@915power -- My 3rd week I was able to feel my hands, some lower back, and wierd hot flashes on my legs. Over time it just helps. I knew a chick 7 years into a c5 complete and she stood a week after taking it. This drug can really unlock channels.
@normsnaman Thanks! :) its an honor to do these videos to help or educate anybody!

You're awesome for showing this and it's a good thing that you're able to accept the body changes and not freak out either. Take care sir!

@915power You could possibly go back to self cath if you did botox for your bladder.
