Saw these guys play on the Good to be Bad tour, Whitesnake co headlined with Def Leppard. Doug Aldrich and Reb Beach were awesome, that night Whitesnake blew the Lepps offstage !

reb beach is my preference only because i learned to play guitar mostly for the 2 handed tapping and use the floyd! thanks to influences from vai and beach.....aldrige loses points for me because he plays a les paul lol

Not that I like to compare players, however Doug can copy anything Reb can do, he can not copy anything Doug can do, Aldrich just has the best lead feeling in rock soloing today. I have seen him many times, he is right up there with Randy Rhoads with his technical ability!

Usually when guitarists tap I think of it as them using it as a cheat. But Reb can really do the tapping like a pro. Though I gotta say Doug is the more skilled guitarist

@goodygoody23 I think Reb is the most skilled and fluid of the two, but I think I prefer Doug just because of the raw and powerful style he has. Kinda reminds me of Randy Rhoads.

Got to hand it to Doug. He's got a much bluesier feel than Reb, and his alternate picking is spot on. He doesn't need all that whammy bar and tapping crap to play a kick-ass solo.
