  • W0w, Home Run! I noticed your playing further up the neck than some others...hmmm

  • Fantastic sound. What I wouldn't give to be able to play like you...

  • @randaloopy Thanks! It couldn't be too difficult because I almost never play or practice...so I am just an average player at best.

  • OK I've been playing over 40 yrs now and this is one of my many fav songs and you have done it wonderfully--not many people have played this song and in that fact alone has made me notice you--I am looking at your renditions and impressed keep up the good work grasshopper----steve

  • @8276205 Thanks!

  • Man you really nailed the solo on Baby Blue.........Move over Joey Molland, there's a new Sheriff in town!

  • Sounds like you're playing along with a live version of this song. I'm always interested in hearing and seeing live performance by badfinger as they are hard to find.

  • instead of this utube put out a cd for sale. i"ll buy it.

  • she cried to your song

  • i also forgot to say. she cried. to your song of baby blue. she loved it so much.

  • on our 30th wedding aniversity. i"ll send you a ticket. i played this song to my wife when i asked her to marry me. buddy you are fantastic. you can play baby blue when we renew our vows

  • @DABEARS1088 alright you are getting a little creepy.

  • HEY BUDDY.when i asked my wife to marry me 25 years ago. iplayed baby blue. 2 days ago i let her listen to your video. , she watched it 5 times,, all i can say is thank you. your one hell of a guy. great video

  • @DABEARS1088 Thanks!

  • FANTASTIC

  • EXCELLENT!

  • really incredible stuff. online tabs just don't do this song justice at all. i've been watching so many of your videos over the course of a year or so (first time commenting...) and i'm finally feeling the inspiration to just learn to play by ear. no more being lazy. thank you! ps: have you ever considered covering any big star songs?

  • Another excellent job on another great song, Mr. Clontz. Our band does this and No Matter What and people still love hearing them.

  • Thanks! I've always liked Badfinger since back in the "old days". They were a great but underappreciated band. -BC

  • Very nice. I need to tackle this song myself! Great job.

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Awesome Buddy, I've always thought this was a great song

  • Thannks! -BC

  • So far, I have loved all your stuff! Great playing! I love your guitar-nice LP! This is inspiring me to do my own version-and I will definitely take some tips from this video! Oh yeah-I subscribed-great music for this 43 year-old! Thanks!

  • Thank You! -BC

  • Thank You! -BC

  • Excellent !!! I must have this song from you for my radio show. Please go to your video of Day After Day and look for my comment. Paula Kiely

  • Thanks! - I will have a look. -BC

  • What radio show? -BC

  • What can I say? Another cover of another one of my favorite Badfinger songs!

    Outstanding, as usual!

Seriously--you've done a great job with all these Badfinger covers! And to think that I still haven't watched many of your videos--I'm going to have to check them all out!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Not a problem! And sorry about all these comments--especially if all the notifications for them are driving you crazy!

  • Nice job.....what are the chords you are playing in the bridge? I have everything else....I think:)

  • That was terrific. Couldn't figure this out to save my life except for the little note-runs, since all over the net they're carrying on about capos and weird tuning for this song. Now have a chance.

  • Thanks! I am playing this in standard tuning with no Capo...so it can be done this way. -BC

  • did george harrison play lead on this song? did he use a les paul on it?

  • I'm not sure but he may have on the studio version. -BC

  • No Joey Molland played lead guitar on this song.

  • Joey definitely did the leads on this song when Badfinger played this live...as is evidenced in many old videos. Either way...they were a great band! -BC

  • BandOnTheRun87: I think you may be confusing this song with "Day After Day." On "Day After Day," Pete Ham and George Harrison shared lead parts in it. On this one, I believe it's Joey Molland playing lead.

  • hey Buddy, Sound great as always! Quick question, when and if you get a chance, would you mind sharing with me the walkdown right after the verse and before the chorus? Thanks really appreciate it!

  • I'll see what I can do... -BC

  • Great Job! Buddy (as usual) Have you ever considered doing the guitar in "What have they done to the rain" by the Searchers? Hope your hand is recovering well. Steve

  • Hi Steve,

Thanks! I know the song...but I will probably not do a cover of it. I'm still having some issues with my hand and I'm also so busy right now with work...and working on my home...so my time to do any of this sort of thing is really limited. Hopefully...I'll be able to do more in the next few months. I'm getting my music room back in order this week. -BC

  • Terrific job Buddy!! Did you ever see a video of Badfinger's song "suitcase"??? Cool song with Pete Ham doing a wah/slide thing on a SG.

    You have an SG???

  • Thanks! Actually...the next guitar I buy will probably be a Gibson SG Custom or a Gibson SG Supreme...but I'm in no hurry. I have a lot of guitars and my hand is not even fully recovered from surgery. -BC

  • Nice sound! Great Music! Great Job!

    Thank's

    Curt

  • Thanks Curt! -BC

  • Thank you! -BC

  • Pretty cool as usual, Buddy.

I would like to humbly suggest that a died-in-the-wool guitar fanatic like yourself start squirreling away the quarters to get one of those new fangled servo-driven automatic tuning Gibson guitars. I believe that they have a Les Paul model and a SG model now. I mean, really Buddy, consider your guitar-owning reputation!

    Cheers,

    Jim Lynch

  • Hi Jim,

Thanks for checking out the video and taking the time to write. I saw those guitars and I am somewhat interested in one...but right now, the Doctors are getting all of my spare change...LOL I may have to have another operation on my hand yet! :-( -BC

  • God how i hate these guitars!!! I am a bit of Conservative so maybe that's the reason, but robotising the perfect instrument which is the guitar is the shit!!!

  • Thank You! -BC

  • Hey Buddy,

You pulled a classic out the hat with this one! I remember seeing them at a high school gym in Springfield, VA when they first started back in the day. Excellent job!

  • Thanks! Lucky You! I never got to see Badfinger. They are one of the bands I really wish I could have seen. -BC

  • Hi Buddy,

this is Gerd from Cologne/Germany. Nice SOund. Have seen Badfinger some Weeks ago at Beatleweek/Liverpool Cavern Club.

    I like your Cover Versions.

  • Thank you! I'm glad you like the videos.-BC

  • Nice sound, been a while since I've seen another vid by you.

  • I've been recovering from surgery on my left hand...and I'm still not fully recovered yet. -BC

  • Oh wow, well best wishes, may you have a quick and full recovery!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Your welcome!

  • I'm a subscriber and marvel at your skills. Two things that would make your videos more enjoyable: 1) turn up - just a bit - the volume on the background music, and 2) use a little less treble on your guitar.

  • Thanks! The background does need to be up on some of the videos...I agree. The background for this one was comming from my PC...LOL -BC

  • didnt george harrison play lead on this song originally?

  • Awesome Buddy! Great song by a great band with a tragic history. Have you ever heard Phil Keaggy's version of this song?

  • Thanks!~ Yes I have heard Phil Keaggy's version and I like it also. Keaggy is definitely one of the greatest guitarists out there. -BC

  • Looks like you have recovered. Great job on the song! pr

  • Thanks Patrice! Actually...I am still having a lot of problems with my hand but one afternoon just the other day my "bad finger" was not hurting as much so I knocked off a couple of videos. I'll be finding out more about whatever is going on later in the week after I see my doctor again...but at least I got two more videos...LOL -BC

  • Nice sounding guitar.

  • Thanks! -BC

  • Very Nice!

  • Thanks! -BC

  • awesome cover you have done it again =)

  • Thank You! -BC

  • For a moment i though you were Pete Ham

    Good Job

  • Pete Ham...and Badfinger were an outstanding group in my opinion. I've always liked their music. -BC

  • cool! I'm going to have download this and slow-down that part before the solo.

  • Glad you liked it! -BC

  • I bought this album when it came out and still have it today, it was the first album I ever bought, before I only bought 45's . I am glad to see you are on the mend and back playing as always great job. Can't wait to see what you play next, THANK YOU.

  • Thanks for watching! I still have a way to go with my "bad finger" but I hope to recovery fully eventually. -BC
