Ok everyone here is bitching about Dropsy and saying that it is uncurable, but it is very curable if caught in time.

Let me first point out a few things

1) You suck at owning KOI, ok done.

Now to the Dropsy treatment. Here's what you do.

1)Obtain Tetracycline.

2)Transfer your KOI to a hospital tank.

3)Apply an appropriate amount of Tetracycline.

4)Perform 50% water changes daily.

5)Treatment should be complete in abotu a week.

6)Your fish is cured.

The koi actually is not fat from being healthy. The fish has a inflammation or cellulitis. The same thing occurred with one of my koi taht died.

Poor water quality, kidneys shut down , fish can't excrete any of the waste/ammonia, houses inside the fish until it ulcers and dies. It really isn't right to keep a fish like this please freeze it next time. 9/10 due to high ammonia levels in a poorly mantained pond.

I say next time because there is not even a 1% chance a fish that has been let go that far will survive. No antibiotics, ProformC, salt or otherwise would cure that. Just a glance at the water quality/depth of the pond and you can see how this fish came to be.

This koi if it's a koi has a serious case of dropsy. Chances are it won't recover, at least there's a slim chance anyways. If it's a goldfish then same thing unless it's mixed with a pearlscale. Which would then be normal. It has goldfish characteristics it doesn't look like a koi but I can't say not my fish.
