Thanks Joshxxi. This is just so amazing. This song brings tears to my eyes. Stevie has a way of doing that to ya. :o) Stevie is truly the most gifted person alive and the best song writer as well. No one can ever capture emotions or paint pictures with songs/music like him.
I can't believe I've finally found this. So many thanks for the posting this jossxxi. I watched an airing of this performance on the Old Grey Whistle test in 1974 and recorded it on one of the very early tape cassette machines. The recording quality was awful but I must have worn the tape out I played it so much. After 34 yrs I finally have access to a recording that's clear as a bell! As far as I can ascertain Stevie never recorded this song himself so this may be the only recording. Fantastic!
does anyone know the chords of these song?

So it's a cover version? I've been looking for it everywhere since I saw it on the musikladen video. Shame he never recorded it in the studio.

Like skipperwills, I saw this on TV in the 70s and was never able to find a recording of it. Beautiful song, and classic peak-era Stevie. Thanks.

He performs this at the Beat Club (Musikladen) in 1974. Great song.

That was given to Roberta Flack for one of her albums. I never knew he himself performed it.
