If you're going to do this, why tell everyone and show how it works?? just keep it quiet and actually use it to catch people rather then telling people how it works so they can try to find new ways of not getting caught.

LOL! This is rather stupid though the concept is itself is interesting. The presence of tagged water does not prove guilt or innocence, it only proves the presence of the taggant. A preponderance of *other* evidence combined with the taggant might convict however taggants like this are easily spread by contact, resulting in false positives and making the material's presence less likely to convict. Also the defense system here is stupid, deployment would be a passive measure, not human controlled
