  • ha ha - i still got a MS-20, years ago a freind got a MS-10 - and running that through my MS-20 was really fun.( MS-10 i sortof a half MS-20, the 10 have one ossicalator, the 20 have two - both are monophonic - one key at a time )

also run a Casio VL-tone through it - fun to mess around with the VL´s rythm with the Korg. A electric guitar was also tryed on the MS-20... ah... we really had fun in those days. lots of strange sounds. recorded it on tape with sound on sound and made strange music

  • hey, do you know of a similar synth that I could get for a cheaper price?

  • @lfd3cg I got it fairly cheap. You just have too look good.

You can always try the MS-10

  • @deused How much is fairly cheap?

  • @lfd3cg Over 9000

  • @WeEatBrainz

    IT'S OVER 9000!!!

  • @larrysg1 ITS OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SICK!

  • awesome synth!

  • analog

  • Are you retarded?

  • try if you can!

  • thanks for showcasing numerous sounds one can get outta one of these.

    they look sick!

  • Your ms 20 makes me have feelings for you. Wanna cyber?:D

  • Is this the MS-20 date i've been waiting for???

  • sick im gonna get one of these i think.

  • Aah there we go! That's a real classic!

  • lets start a band!

  • how much did you pay for it?

I'm getting one since rEBIRTH only goes so far.

  • The Korg MS-20 Legcy line midi controller ist afordble.

Its 'just' a midi controller for your legcy line softwre on the pc. But wit feels right nd has all patch cables.

Its a soft synth then, but with todays computing power taht is more of a advantge i would say. :)

  • sounds like a cool mario bros mix the funk version

  • do you know where I can buy the patch cords???

    Please PM me :)

  • SO FUCKIN COOL!!!!!!

  • This is so fucking cool.

    I want one.

  • cool. I have a virtual ms20 on my computer

  • A Midi to CV converter would be for the MS20 or any other old anologue synth that has CV & gate/trig in. for sequencing. The Frost-Wave covers all types of CV ect ect.

  • band*

  • weren't you in that pand... uhh... Hot Butter?

  • Hot Butter is ghey mr truffles. and what the fuck is a pand?

  • a panda is a bear that they use in china or sumpin'.

  • Hey Sally. Quit jerking off on that piece of equipment. Who the hell taught you that it was okay to mess around on vintage gear like that if you don't know what the hell you're doing. JEEEEZAS Jill. Making silly Atari sounds on that monster. ARG@@#J@##@*@^(#*

  • I'm not sure though...this is why I'm asking around, not sure what I'm doing or what I should do

P.S. This is the same person as TheJohnMayor

  • Hmmm...good assesment...but i just thought of something...couldn't i grab both. With the external capabilitys of the MS-20 I baisically get all the benefits right? Also, how does the 20 compare to the 2000?

  • Both? You mean putting the juno signal through the filters of the MS-20?

The MS-2000 is a combination of the MS-20,SQ-10(sequencer) and the VC-10(vocoder) plus added things like all those nifty modern effects etc. I almost bought it, but i found 4 voices much to few for a synth of his age. Besides, now i have a MS-20, I really wouldn't trade it for a MS-2000. I would really miss the Patching and its External signal processor.

  • Well could I just use the ESP on the 20 with the juno? Also, I heard the 2000 can come as just the rack. So I could essentially use it as a Midi processor with the Juno's Midi out. Correct me if I'm wrong. Someone explained that to me and I didn't quite understand.

Part II - So the the 2000 doesn't have ESP or patching capabilities? I want the korg 20 or 2000 for more wierd sounds and effects. I want the 106 for more actual playing. I figure I could get a nice combo out of both of them.

  • I'm thinking of getting one of these, but I'm fighting between a juno 106 and a ms-20...what do you suggest if you've ever played the juno...

  • It really depends on what you want. Don´t forget the MS-20 is a mono-synth.

I personally prefer the ms-20 because of its patching system. It´s really great, you can do alot of things with it. (or make external devices for it).

If you´re planning to use midi, and polyphony, you should pick the juno, it is a great synth afteral!

MS-20 is much more basic. But, because of its patch system. You can do alot of things you can´t do with that juno.

  • Go the MS20 over the juno 106, if its Phat and Raw you are after, for sweet and warm go the juno 106

  • hhmmm...see thats the problem, i want both...I want to be able to be phat and raw and then switch to sweet and warm. That kinda thing...thats why im thinkin i should get both

  • getting both the MS20 & the Juno would make a fantastic studio set up with an analogue basis for music. GO FOR IT! ^_^

  • aaaaaaaaweeesome...and let me get this straight, the ms 2000 doesn't have an ESP? Cuz i really want that arpeggiator it has.

  • Better still consider a Frost-Wave MIDI to CV converter 9.9999 points . I dont believe in perfection

  • Ok, how do i use that. Do i use it with the 2000 and the Juno or the 20 and the Juno. Or just the one of them? I read up on it and i don't really understand what it does (or I'm just to lazy to comprehend what I'm reading).

  • remember...if you want to play chords, it has to be polyphonic. the juno106 is polyphonic.

  • mmmm juno 106.

  • This was cool but it would be nice to hear that organ and maybe trough the MS. Isn't that a philips combo organ?

  • I think i'll try that out..

and yes, its a philips combo organ (philicorda)

  • That was cool. Have you tried the microKorg before?

  • Well, i tried it, but it isn´t really attracting me. It gives me the feeling i can´t shape new sounds.. like i can with the MS-20 for example.. the MS-2000 is more interesting though :).

  • ms-2000 and microkorg are exactly the same, just differen't interfaces.

  • how about the minimoog voyager...

  • please tell me that is the actual 1975 model and not the usb-midi one and if it is please let me know where you got it.

  • It is the original model, not the USB legacy model (as you might see it, its not as small as the usb model)

besides, i got it secondhand.. try searching e-bay

  • i just bought a moog mg-1, cool basses, better than my jp8080! imo

  • That really has awesome sound man.

    Nice set-up, too. :)

  • Your awesome !:D
