  • Wow loved this as a kid, it fucking sucks now. Sad..

  • YES! ive been wondering what the intro song was for a long time now, typed in the lyrics and found out its called "doin time" (obviously as he says that alot) :P by Bruce Arntson

  • Guys say that earnest is a dumb fuck but Jim varney (if not mistaken) is shouting shit at them from heaven. :) r.i.p. we miss you

  • This movie brings back the good times of Jim Varney ha ha. 5 dislikes happen to be intruders that got electrocuted but never survived like Ernest did.

  • As much as I love these movies...I think I'll enjoy them much more if I was high.

  • 04:03 LOL

  • Why doesn't Ernest just let go of the floor buffer? At least he wouldn't get injured that way.

  • The skinny cop? didn't he play in Ray Stevens: Get Serious? for some reason, he looks familiar.Anyway, my fav. scenes are when Ernest has all the medal things clinging to him, hilarious, himz like SHM (SuperHumanMagnetic) lol.

  • @TheVIPTiffArchie i don't know about that one but in Ray's "Sittin' Up with the Dead" video he plays Ray's "Uncle Fred" (the guy who died)

  • loved ol ernest as a kid ...HILARIOUS!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @TheAltair4 Actually, Tex is still alive.

  • that skinny as cop is super funny wen your high!!

    lol

  • why is metal attracting him,?

  • isnt his widow still with us today still singing???

  • Rest in peace Jim Varney - will always remember you!

  • @Morr1992 What is it like being dead inside at 19

  • this was his first film i saw when i was 15 im now 28 and i still laugh at it love this film shame jim varney aint making no more R.I.P jim varney

  • I like how jim can play two parts, that's cool

  • this man was a genius of comedy.

    Long Live Jim Varney

  • Long Live the Ernest in all of us!

  • best movie ever made knowwutimean?

  • LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!! OH YOU DON'T LIKE IT?? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ OH WELL

  • My favorite was Ernest Scared Stupid. It sucks Jim Varney isn't around anymore. He was great

  • @lolasurf47 Yes, he was also great in "Ernest Goes To Camp" "Ernest Saves Christmas", "Ernest Goes To Africa", "Ernest In The Army" and "Slam Dunk Ernest." Probably just like they filmed "Trail Of The Pink Panther" in honor of Peter Sellers death, maybe someone should make a movie of Jim Varney titled "We Miss You Ernest P. Worrell" and all the past actors getting a cast interview can talk about scenes from different movies he was on and all his fans can say a nice word about him.

  • @afriendofbean Ernest Goes to Africa was good too. I can't find that anywhere on youtube. Just videos. I'm hoping someone will upload it

  • @lolasurf47 Maybe you can order it off Amazon. I looked on Amazon and "Ernest Goes To Africa" is $5.81 and if you order it from Amazon, you will receive it in maybe 2-4 days.

  • @afriendofbean Ok. I didn't think about that. Thanks :)

  • @lolasurf47 No problem. I hope you get to order the movie.

  • I use to rent this movie on VHS as a kid constantly. Long live Ernest!

  • I love the commercials but the movie seems kinda dumb.. I do love the commercials though.

  • Its sad that jim varney is gone, he's so funny.

He was also in the movie beverly hillbillies

  • i love the part where he is chewing on the pin and everyone is watching him e. ... lol

  • From 9:45-9:46, it's funny how Ernest said Mr. Pendlesmythe name correctly when he had trouble saying his name as soon as Mr. Pendelsmythe arrived to the bank.

  • ernest is funny even when im not high

  • Man I miss these days.

  • Funny movie.

  • Ernest goes to Jail

    Ernest goes to Camp

    Ernest Scared Stupid.

    Ernest Saves christmas.

    my favourite 4

and slam dunk earnest was good to.

  • @topbluffa1 Yes, those were great Ernest movies. Also, both "Ernest Goes To Africa" and "Ernest In The Army" were great movies too.

  • anyone know the intro song

  • Stupid movies or not, Jim Varney was ok. He made us laugh and lots of folks loved him. They did kinda over milk the Ernest concept, but Jim was good enough to get away with it. I liked him as Jed Clampet in the Hillbillies re make. He will be missed.

  • Hey did you hear that? Boy i sure did!

  • Dying from lung cancer at 50 sucks, but come on. How in god's name did he gain any sort of fame? This is the stupidest crap ever.

And I'm generally tolerant of stupid movies.... yes, I actually watched the FAT BOYS from the 80's in the movie Disorderlies.

  • @hospitalbedpan1 the stupidity is waht makes it funny, i was always a fan of the movie series.

  • @hospitalbedpan1 Ernest was basically just a modern version of the slapstick comedy of the 20's, 30's, and 40's. Everyone looks back at stuff like the Three Stooges and Abbott and Costello as classics but looks down on anyone trying to bring that type of humor back, such as Ernest, or Mr. Bean.

  • Rest in Peace Jim Varney (1949-2000) THE GREATEST ACTOR IN THE WORLD

  • man, the tazmanian devil design that floor buffer, what the hell..

  • Ernest is a legend, to us anyway, and that is IMPORTANT!!

We are grown men and woman now (I'm 27) and have children of our own, and we are the ones he made laugh as children. He is gone now but his memory doesn't have to die, too.

We can too give the same memory we all share of "Ernest P Worrel" to out children, the next generation. Ebay sales his movies in sets no more than $6.00 for 3 movies; we can afford $6 for; Jim and our kids... lets do it together!

    (I've already purchased mine)

  • ernest rules

  • what the movie

  • Gailard Sartain and his hand signals and dancing skills...FTW!!

  • Fuckin' Bobby is like Roy Scheider-lite.

  • @HereGoneStay It's not THE Barbara Bush. It's actually Barbara Tyson.

  • this movie is fucking classic.

  • I remember watching this movie when I was little. Mom took me to blockbuster and mcdonalds (score). I got a happy meal with chicken nuggets, sweet and sour sauce, and a hi-c. Sat on the floor eating off the coffee table watching ernest goes to jail on VHS :)

  • @underlinedbluetext sounds like an awesome memory!!! oh the good ole days...

  • He was a stinking old drunk.

  • I'm doing my term paper over Jim Varney, he's the best commedian I love him!

  • it kills me how big bobby's gun is lmao

  • @thatplankguy ikr haha

  • dear god you will never be able to replace good comedy like this

  • This and scared stupid are the best

  • I love Ernest Movies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @themoviedudesteam Me too, my friend.

I got 2 movies and they're in DVD.

Jim Varney as Ernest is awesome! He will be missed.

    God rest his soul.

  • God rest his soul. Jim Varney will be truly missed.

  • earnest would be in the blue collar comedy group if jim varney were still alive.

  • All The Ernest Movies Rock !! R.I.P. Jim Varney

  • the evil looking Ernest was hot.

  • lol jim varney was great. R.I.P.

  • Lmfao, haha, I love this movie.. Drawers for the win !! I love how they manuevered around the desktop and other obstacles, haha.

  • So Ernest is like Magneto in this film haha

  • lol @ the skinny security guard he is aiming that gun with assurance. lol

  • my favorite movie about you guys of ernest

  • by far the best ernest movie.... in fact, by far the best comedy I grew up with. I remember being a little kid and memorizing all those hilarious monologues and reciting them at random times and people would look at me like wdf wrong with this kid?? still brings a smile on the occasionally boring days.

  • God Bless you, Jim Varney. No matter how corny the movie's plot or effects were sometimes, you still found a way to make us laugh anyway. Forget Peewee. You were the icon of my childhood.

I particularly like this movie though, since it showcased Varney's genuine acting ability by having him play two VERY polarized characters, across a wide spectrum, at the same time.

  • i love earnest i wish that hes not dead im a kid

  • i love earnest i wish that hes not dead

  • Nash Is The Shit!! lol

"Yeah. I'm A Real Big Fan Of The Early Release Program".

  • A childhood favorite.

  • Aww old school he will always crack me up wish he were still alive

  • I feel so freaking old watching this. Brings back some great memories

  • I grow up on Ernest P. Worrell. I have watched every single one of his movies and I am glad that I can watch them again. R.I.P Jim Varney, we miss you and love you. You made my childhood memories.

  • "LOL! The idiot Obama is still fooling you! Earnest is a movie, but the idiot Obama is real. When will the USA put that idiot behind bar's??"

  • Is there a full version of the song "Doin' Time" that isn't fanmade?

  • been years since ive seen one of these

  • LOL!!

    5:22 & 5:33

    Ernest The Human Magnet!!!

6:50 Ernest just came to bank to check his account.

  • lol @ Randall Tex Cobb

  • 1:12 lol :)

  • the opening reminds me of an iPod commercial

  • This was one of my FAVORITE movies as a kid, and it STILL is. It's classic, R.I.P Jim Varney, we miss you, you were SO funny!

Let his death serve as a lesson though. NEVER SMOKE. Jim Varney was a smoker.

  • Freaking best series ever. May he rest in peace : /

  • who could ever forget this comedian .. he is a perfect actor .. I have never seen one of his movies and didn;t laugh

  • Thnx for for posting. I love this movie it's another one of my favorites. RIP Jim

  • 'ernest rules the world'

  • You're right Charolette

After all I am Ernest P Worell an upwardly mobile american at his best.

And I know that if I pay my taxes; bathe and floss regularly, I will ascend the ladder of success and over __ it

    best line in video

  • 5:32 is the best ever

  • jim was so talented, sucks he's not with us anymore

  • "...For I will be a bank clerk"

  • 07:24 Mr. T is escaping from jail!

  • @Silvia1826 Lol when I first saw this movie I thought it was Mr. t who was escaping lol.

  • @jasonhylnd001

If only Jim Varney and Mr. T worked together in this movie! :D

  • I think one good thing about YouTube is that I can find alot of movies that I seen as a kid throughout the early and mid 1990's.

  • Who does the song in the opening credits? "somebody's driving my car"

  • I use to watch this movie so much that the color stop showing.

  • I love all of the Ernest movies. I remember watchin these movies as a kid back in the 90's. I miss the old days sometimes. Man, they don't make movies like they did in the 90's anymore. (sigh)

  • @DeezzyMusic Same with music. Now it's all hip hop and pop, it all just sucks now. I wish the 90's would come back.

  • GREAT COMEDIAN and i loved him as a kid im 22 And a decent good guy you dont get many celebrities who did as much as he did for charities etc.

  • Ernest-"YOU CAN'T GO UP THE WAAAAAAALLL!!!"

  • Jim Varny aka Ernest P Worrel aka the redneck hope R.I.P

  • This movie brings back memory's of my childhood love Jim Varney

  • Favorite part:

    I came, I saw, I got blow'd up.

  • Damn, Charlotte...looking good!

  • I know this is a strange question for me to say but, from 5:26-5:30, when Ernest was getting electrocuted, I know people in real life shake like that but, do people in real life make that same sound Ernest was making whenever electricity is jolting through their body?

  • R.I.P ernest we will miss u

  • Goddamn! Chuck And Bobby are a big part of what makes this the best Ernest movie ever.

  • Bobby is awesome

  • I've always wondered but why does Ernest always has those Odd jobs that involves maintenence or being a Janitor.

  • I have noticed that too. My only guess is that Ernest loves Housekeeping work the most. (The only movies I know that Ernest does Housekeeping work is "Ernest Goes To Jail", "Slam Dunk Ernest", the beginning of "Ernest Goes To Camp", and on "Ernest Scared Stupid", Ernest was a garbage man who drove a garbage truck which is sort of like Housekeeping work. (The other Ernest movies that I've seen, Ernest was a taxi driver, a gas station employee, and a military leader).

  • @Theshark15z ... i think it helps with his character

  • i listen to death metal i have peircings that cover my face and even i get a kick out of ernest. i dont care how old you are this guys movies are funny

  • I love the Ernest series, that guitar riff during the intro is badass!

  • the intro...classic!! miss u jim varney, you made my childhood lol

  • @02the1 ditto

  • Ernest P. Worrell is a great fictional character. This movie is so great. I really miss watching it. ^_^

R.I.P. Jim Varney. Bless his soul.

  • @NG480 i didnt no he died :( .....wow :|

  • i always loved this intro...brings back so many good childhood ernest memories

  • LOL i luv dis movie

  • LOL! Earnest: *points at the drawers* saying "It wasn't my fault. They followed me in here. It was awful. You can't imagine. Especially these two."

When Earnest gets electricuted, that's my most favorite part of this movie!

  • Yes that's amazing how Ernest gets electrocuted without dying. I wonder how it's possible that Ernest gets electrocuted without dying. Maybe he's stronger than electricity where he still gets electrocuted with it jolting through his body but, he's strong to prevent it from killing him or, maybe the electricity is not powerful enough to kill him, or maybe it's not too much electricity jolting through his body which could cause him to die (instead he gets magnetic).

  • @FloatzelMan He gets electrocuted 4 times in this movie. It nevers stops being funny whenever it happens in any of the Ernest movies. Not one gets electrocuted like Ernest P. Worrell: 'Electro-Man'.

  • lol

  • THANK YOU for uploading this movie.....Ernest is one of my favorites

  • how did he die and wasn't he in comercials or something.

  • @leakesonasucs he died of lung cancer....he smoked A LOT

  • my favorite movie!

    and where is he today.

  • he passed away.

  • When? and how?

  • He passed away from lung cancer on February 10, 2000.

  • @afriendofbean Aw, he only got to experience 41 days of the new millenium. How sad.

  • Yes, it's sad that he passed away. He did great playing as Ernest, and it's too bad on "Toy Story 3" that, he won't be voicing Slinky Dog.

  • @afriendofbean did he voice slinky the dog?

  • Yes, he voiced Slinky Dog in "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2." Since he passed away, the new person who is going to voice Slinky Dog in "Toy Story 3" is Blake Clark.

  • @afriendofbean That's kind of true. Jim Varney is the best actor ever.

  • @SuperMovieFan85 Yes, he sure is.

  • @afriendofbean Thank you for your comment.

  • @SuperMovieFan85 You're welcome.

  • @afriendofbean I think we'll get along just fine, don't you think?

  • @SuperMovieFan85 Yes.

  • @afriendofbean Good answer. You know what I think?
