  • Please bring this programme back!!

  • Strange how no one can spell to itself.

  • I wish they would bring Spitting Image Back, It was so funny watching this on a Sunday back in 1986.

  • Tax doesn't have to be Taxing...

  • @segano1 Agreed, my point exactly.

  • Reading all these comments you realise that people still don't understand the enormity of what they are asking for... Once you get over the innate urge to criticise and moan about politicians you see a bunch of people who genuinely joined up to make a positive difference to society and test their abilities to lead. Now some of these people will have gone astray but most of their failings and shortcomings don't come from anything other than that running a country is bloody difficult.

  • @zomgbomg One of the purpose of politicians is for the people to have a scapegoat. The masses love the narrative that they are noble, hardworking, honest people who are victimized by politicians, corporations, etc. That's a load of baloney. The average westerner enjoys a lifestyle made possible only by the suffering and exploitation of others both domestically and abroad. Westerners have an outrageous sense of entitlement (Greek crisis). Easier to blame others than look in the mirror.

  • I personally think that by the 90's, Spitting Image was getting tired, but this is one of the better sketches from the later Spitting Image I have seen. Nice parody.

  • its weird I know this was set in the the 80s but its still makes since with todays market :O

  • What is the name of the song this is a parody of?

  • @higfny our house by madness

  • The idea of a property-owning democracy was a lie. Look at escalating starting prices, coupled with Tory NIMBYs opposing new housing developments at every turn. We need a revolution and fast, otherwise the only house the next generation will have, will be made of mud. Back to the primitive with the Tories.

  • This type of satire can make such ordinary news, hilarious.... if only the writers knew what was to happen politically in the next two decades....

  • thumbs up if you think of the eminem song our house when you hear this xD

  • good old 80's

  • Strange how history repeats its self.

  • VOTE UKIP!

  • Outhouse

Where we'd go to take a shit

    Outhouse

It was sat upon a pit

    Outhouse

Where we'd sit and hiss and strain

    Outhouse

Where we'd shit and piss and drain

  • you know this song is so relivent today all three party are total sleeze balls, I don't know about the Green Party though

  • If only the house prices would down again. Ahh.... the good old days!

  • This should Be European Union hymn

  • @shmoozeee Why? Germany's GOT money. And luckily for the rest of you they're willing to dole it out.

  • hello from ireland oops

  • dropped £50K? Luxury! Was £100K round mine

  • @richardmaudsley77 Next time resist the urge to buy Buckingham Palace.

  • @PatchesRips Jokes on you, it's my sister's house. And she only bought it AFTER the market crash, after it'd been for sale for about 2 years. So really the only guy that got screwed was one of the bellends who fucked up the economy anyway.

  • @richardmaudsley77 Joke's on HER; she's still living in England. :D

  • most tory votes came from uni students cause of their promise of lowering the student loan charges, how stupid they must feel now :P . lesson for next time, tory history 101. of course all of the parties lie

  • Here we go again except I was younger then

  • How quickly we forget.

    Anyone for round two?

    Brace yerselves!

  • this song fits in with today's problems did you know if your hours are cut at work you still have to full rent & full counsil tax in Leigh, that becouse Wigan Metro are absolute pigs

  • Comment removed

  • I have most of these on VHS. I recorded them the days eah of them aired. Haha.... Creepiest show on the planet.

  • The lyrics to this song are so good. The rhyming is great, meaning fits perfectly, and the song parody is appropriate. Pure genius.

  • This song is good for today, with the Australian dream dying. It's funny anyways, apt or not.

  • @HumanistMercenary4, Australian dream?

  • @SpazzyLoLazzy Yeah. The quarter acre block. and the belief that home ownership can lead to a better life, and is an expression of success and security. Goes back to the early post war period.

  • @HumanistMercenary4, Thanks, didn't know about that.

  • @SpazzyLoLazzy You're welcome. :-)

  • I love spitting image and guess what im a conservative member lol

  • History is to repeat its self!

  • Julia Gillard can play the violin???

  • @cityviagranville I'd let her play my violin.

    ...What am I saying?

  • Gordon still runing labor my god he's Fucking thick.

  • 0:35 Fuckin creepy!

  • How?

  • The puppets are generally creepy enough as they are. One flying in the air certainly does not help.

  • But there not.

  • We need SI back. There's so much material nowadays, they could do a daily show.

we're all fkd anyway! So we might as well die laughing about the stuff that's killing us!

  • History repeats it self . look at britain now under labour

  • Isn't that the whole point of capitalism - boom and bust?

  • british history & commedy, truth all in one this is one of the best songs of the 80s. much better than madness version. please bring spitting image to tv. thanks so much for this.

  • Kinda tragic that history repeated itself less than twenty years later...

  • I used to watch Spitting Image 19 yrs. ago when I lived in England, now I am in the USA. I really miss it. It is a treat to see it in here. Such fun stuff!

  • If only Spitting Image was returning next week... :-)

  • they should do 1 for 2009

  • This wasn't the 80s house prices slump it was the early 90s - 1992, to be exact. You can even see the copyright date at the end of the clip.

  • This is great!

  • Jug on!

  • Labour suck because they copied the Tories with much the same results...

  • He's still voting tory though by god he must be thick!

    LOL

  • Burlesque at its best! Lets hope they can rejuvenate the series once more.

  • Spitting Image.................. the best political satire around!! LOVED IT! XD

  • true lady janus

it is indeed time to bring this comedy back on air!

  • Hardly, spitting image was clutching at straws in its final 5 or so years.

  • bring spitting image back! it wont b as gd and it wil obviously wil b about cheap "celebrities" bt atleast we wil hav it

  • Comment removed

  • That's because you are a Muppet and believe that obesity is caused solely by eating too much. Obesity is also caused by eating rubbish, mainly cheap processed rubbish. People who tend to eat lots of cheap processed rubbish tend to be poorer and tend to be fatter.

Do yourself a favour and stop reading the Sun and The Daily Mail. If you want to shake your fist at someone then shake it at those that evade and avoid tax to the tune of £40 billion a year.

  • They should rerun all the spitting image episodes every 20 years as every 20 years they are relevant again.

  • I second that motion. Back in the early 1990's I went to school with a lot of kids whose parents lost their homes.

But financial crisis of 1990 was nowhere near the one we have now.

  • which is really sad, when you think about it.

  • bloody labour!

  • Comment removed

  • Bloody tories, them lot put in the free market economy.

  • Yeah which worked quite well until Labour came along.

Funny how the really bad shit happens whenever Labour are in power. Maybe God is trying to tell the electorate something?

  • Talking rubbish, look at Labours record compared to the tories in government.

  • Yep, schools faling, hospitals where you'll die of something you deidn't have when you went in, armed forces that aren't fit for purpose, less houses built than under Thatcer, political correctness gone made, immigration crisis, anti-Lord & Monarchy bullshit, voter apathy, more sleeze than you can shake a stick at and a PM more dull than John Major could have had a wet dream of being.

Not something I'd be proud of. Vote Tory next time, or maybe Lib Dem. You'll feel so much better for it.

  • Dude, that was happening in America under the Republicans. The Republicans are the American version of the UK and Australian torries

  • Yes I know that, but let's not pretend here, the US in the 80's wasn't doing very badly was it?

  • no the republicans are much further right wing than the tories

  • In bill mahers words "the democrats have moved to the right and the republicans have moved to a mental asylum " no other rich western county has such a crazy right.

  • Both political parties pretty much seem to have the same issues.

Woe beside us that becoming a politician actually requires some level of skill and knowledge than appealing to popularity.

  • You do realise you've pretty much smmed up the Tory government, sleaze, lack of social housing, cuts in armed forces, failing schools and hospitals. Unfortunately the Tories, Labour and Lib Dems are too simiar, none will sort any of those problems, just bring a little fresh hot air to the corridors of power until we realise they're as bad as the last lot.

Regardless of who rules for the next 20 years those problems will still be brushed under the carpet by any government.

  • @stdomingoesfc Abso-fucking-lutely. Unfortunately, the only way to get ahead in politics is to be a lying fuckbag. Anyone with the honesty and balls to sort the mess out will be thrown off Plato's ship, as he (or she) might endanger the godawful setup that has been created to guarantee Parliamentary benefit claims.

I would stand for election, but misery and despair have led me to drink too much.

  • @stdomingoesfc Based on the last 13 years I'd still rather vote for the Conservative Party

  • @stdomingoesfc *cough* BNP *Cough*

  • @Cokecakepopcorn Excellent point. As your post shows, there ARE worse parties than the three main ones.

  • spitting image was so clever...they must have done lot of these really quickyl as it was so topical.

  • Listen to this if ya havin the same problems as whats mention in this LOL, it'll make ya laugh LMAO..

Not that I am havin them probs ha, I don't own a house LMAO

  • LMAO at these lyrics: "We really caught a cold, nowhere we can go to now, all the council houses have been sold, our dad's taken some stick, he's still voting Tory though, by god he must be thick!".

  • When does Series 5 come out on dvd?

  • Aahus, it's a city in Denmark

Aahus, it's a city in Denmark

    :-)

  • Bauhaus, It's a German art movement, Bauhaus..

  • Aarhus is a city in Denmark

  • What Season is this from.

  • Some folks just never learn. I was living in Britain in the early 90's when there were foreclosures right and left. Some thing in the USA.

Now the same thing has happened in the USA AGAIN! Everywhere you go, houses are empty and the banks can't get anything for them. There aren't many foreclosures in New York City (thanks to a greater demand for housing) but the storefronts are all empty.

Landlords raised the rents, the stores had to close, and now there's nobody to rent them.

  • mmmm I thought that last time I saw this....

    Fitting for current times?

  • I get this strange feeling of Dejavoo but then we blamed the Tories now we'll have to blame Labour or maybe just that most common cause - Greed

  • Actually, this Spitting Image clip is from 1992.

  • Auckland's biggest real estate agency group, Barfoot and Thompson, has reported sales volumes fell 56.2% in March from a year ago, although the average sale price rose 5% in February from March. The average price has however fallen 7.4% from the same month a year ago.
