Honestly, I perfer Utena's English voice to her Japanese voice, and I'm not saying that because I don't like subtitles; I love orignal dubs of Anime, and subtitles are fun.

Saw this trailer when I was around 10 years old while watching some random DVD. My jaw dropped at how cool and epic this looked. Still my top anime. If only Media Blasters put as much effort into the dub as they did the trailers.

Akio's dub voice is terrible.-.- JUst watched this in sub again...god this was a good series. Wish they could continue it...

I'm not a subtitles purist. I think people have the right to watch films in their own language without having to constantly look down and read, and I have no problems with dubs when they're good. With that said, it does seem like a good deal of anime dubbing is pretty poor. The dubs on Utena were pretty good but I didn't like Utena's voice. I heard her first in English then Japanese, and she's a different character. Younger, girlier, less sophisticated, more naive. She's too mature in English.

Haven't seen this before! I definitely prefer the Japanese version, but the Utena dub is pretty decent especially when compared to shows like Sailor Moon. Thanks for posting.
