En la fidelidad histórica mejor no entrar, porque creo que las patadas a la historia son tantas que posiblemente cualquier parecido a la realidad sea pura coincidencia.

La película -como película- es buena. Pero históricamente es muy inexacta. Felipe II no era como lo muestran en ella. El sesgo es muy grande: ni Isabel era una santa, ni Felipe un monstruo. He conceived his empire as a mixture of different and very important kingdoms of which, the most important, was Castile. I am not speculating: Philip lived in Lisbon from 1580 to 1583.

La película -como película- es buena. Pero históricamente es muy inexacta. Felipe II no era como lo muestran en ella. El sesgo es muy grande: ni Isabel era una santa, ni Felipe un monstruo. Y si bien cometió errores, él le dio a España mucha de la grandeza que ostentó hasta antes de la invasión napoleónica.

This film was based on the first armada in 1588 (which was a epic FAIL) but the Spanish tried it again 1592 and FAILED again in 1597 same result FAILED then again in 1598 once again FAILED.by this time and after though we was giving the Spanish some good going over's beating up them for fun but they declined as a super power so they couldn't put up a good fight in the end.So as tradition when went back to beating up the French

@1stLordtheAdmiralty Spain tried it 3 times and had money to afford it but the ships were forced to return to port bc the weather,and the first armada was not so epic fail if 1 year later destroyed the english army along with the english finances,that´s why the english lost the war in the end and they signed the treaty of London wich was very favorable to Spain

@1stLordtheAdmiralty HA, afraid not, Spain was still the most powerful empire in the world,the anglo-spanish wars were a success for Spain ( Treaty of London), another wars, like dutch independence or 30 years war,weren´t so France turned into the main European power,though not the global power and England turned an empire after Napoleon wars, which destroyed Europe and especially Spain,NOT before.Britain never was the biggest empire ever,only brits think so.

We got our empire fighting against most of other super powers at the same time, England,France,dutch rebelds,Ottoman Empire,etc..We were the first global power.You only conquered uninhabited territories or almost uninhabited fighting with the most advanced technology against 3rd world countries and with the help of plenty of allies.You only got our leftovers LOL
