  • What a shit of film...

  • British envious...Make a movie about Cartagena de Indias and your "great Admiral" Vernon

  • Saint Blas of Lezo.

British talking about wars? Proud? Loyalty? Yes, and when Hitler talking about human rights?

  • BLAS DE LEZO,BLAS DE LEZO,BLAS DE LEZO,BLAS DE LEZO,BLAS DE LEZO,BLAS DE LEZO

  • it is so interesting in history when a once-powerful empire becomes so irrelevant a few centuries later: Mongolia then and now, Spain then and now.

  • 2:24 "whore" says the man who married his own girl cousin ...

  • Spain and England would never have created the Empires, without the great helps of side Serbs. You are afraid of the ocean as a baby!

  • why is he walking like that at 1:28 ?

  • @TheMissRJ because they make reference of the inbreeding of the House of Habsburg in those times

  • Phillip II is the most powerful king in Europe during his time...no one stops him even Elizabeth I that's why God perish him by destroying his army and put him in shame because he abuse the power given by God to him....he is the trouble maker in Europe for so many wars against other country like England, French, Netherlands, Ottoman empire, and Portugal

XD

  • Why is Philip walking so strange? Is it the gout?

  • @DrGull1888 No, english assholery.

  • Pure english protestant propaganda :) do you now something about the battle of cartagena de indias?! VIVA ESPAÑA!

  • Queen Elizabeth is sucking my Cock do not Disturb.

  • This film is a bad joke. Elisabeth queen of pirates, "god save the storms"

  • This castellano is moore like portuguese than castellano,,, perahps galaico-portuguese languange,,,,

  • @Silvius5000 No, it´s normal Castilian but reversing the order of the words as suggested by the director.

  • What language is spoken in Latin America? The Spanish . Elissabeth she not got NOTHING proposed and PHILLIP I yes

  • Bad film...english propaganda.

We spaniards and latinamericans should make a movie about the Battle of Cartagena de Indias 1741, where 186 british ships (Spanish armada of 1588 had 126) and 27.000 english infantry were defeated BY 3000 SPANISH SOLDIERS AND 6 SMALL SHIPS.

That would be epic. A really small spanish army defeating the biggest english fleet ever gathered...

  • @Komnenit I am a Catholic from Pakistan and I love you Spaniards.

  • @eraser695 Actually i'm colombian, but thanks :)

  • king philip the one who gave the name of THE PHILIPPINES

  • People in England think we the spanish are so stupid? oh my god

  • Treaty of Tordesillas Spain and Portugal divid the world into spheres of influence, and ocidental part, Atlantic, and indic ocean side was Portuguese, both countries, Spain and Portugal had powerful naval fleets, if to Philip of Spain to invade England had to violate the Treaty of Tordesillas,,,

  • speculation about a if philip don´t have portuguese atlantic ocean to invade ingland,,,,, remmember in that time we have the tordesillas line in the wourld and the navy of portugal and spain in that time, they rivalize with other....

  • i think so,,,, ....

  • MY GOD!!! Do they really wash english people´s brains with this rubbish?

    - - - I am afraid YES. With this rubbish, and tons of other equally biased, ultra-chauvinist, anti-historic shit. From the very moment they are born.

  • The Castellano in that film seems more Galician-Portuguese than Castilian spoken today,,, maybe inn that time the Portuguese and Castilian languageswere closer.

  • Portuguese iqual lol,,, firt inter-continental pirates in history.

  • England = Pirates

  • PHILIPS of spain rule there empere from,,, lisbon,, way in the movie they don´t talk about thar? mmm lol,,,,

  • @Silvius5000 Philip of Spain only ruled his Empire from Lisbon between 1580 and 1583. The movie is set in 1585-1588. I don't see why that should be mentioned.

  • No Phililp II of spain Iº of Portugal rule from lisbon 1580 to 1590 after tomar court´ agreement,...

  • @Silvius5000 I wonder how he was able to do so, since he returned to Madrid in 1583...

  • but the greatest power of Philip was the fact that he control the Atlantic Ocean of Portugal to use its naval fleet,,, I do not know if he could do that if Philip did not at that time ruled over Portugal.,,,, speculation´s----

  • @Silvius5000 He had been using Cádiz and Seville quite successfully before the invasion of Portugal. Portugal was a great asset, but not the most important one. He conceived his empire as a mixture of different and very important kingdoms of which, the most important, was Castile. I am not speculating: Philip lived in Lisbon from 1580 to 1583.

  • Great to see many english who don´t like this biased movie.

Long live King Philip and hail to the glorious Spanish reich. Santiago y cierra, España!!

  • Philippines (Filipinas) was named under him

  • Loving all the butthurt comments here by the Spanish. You got your asses beat by the English. Spain was very bankrupt then and still is!

  • @eryess And you got your asses beat by the Spanish just one year later, they destroyed the English armada along with the english finances, that´s why you lost the war in the end and had to sign the Treaty of London with conditions very favorable to Spain :)

  • @eryess remember Blas de Lezo you ignorant english pig

  • Yes, because spain is not land of pirates, thiefs and esclavists. Spain never trade with people like the english did, just to try to defeat spain, losing 90% battles against spain during 400 years. I´m very happy english couldn´t put their racist foot in all América, except in some limited places. Because of it, America is still The Paradise. Look what did english with Africa... still the Hell. And thanks to Spain to help USA to get their independence from the esclavists, and "wealthiest" brits

  • Viva Espana!!!

  • "Darth Vader", King of Spain..... its a British movie, right?

  • @Khaagon Britisher are the illegitimate children of Spain after Bloody Elizabeth I.

  • First of all this film is a BIG LIE, second philip was BLOND.

  • ¿Qué esperáis de la pérfida Albión?. ;)

  • Larga vida a España y al Opus Dei

  • 0:15 "Spain is the most powerful empire in the world" !

Felipe II moreno, retrasado y deforme; Isabel I joven y guapa a

  • Philiip II was blonde, and he wasn't idiot like in this movie. He was the most powerful king of his age, this is only a parody for a bristish movie.... if you want a great play of him take a look at the miniseries called "La princesa de Éboli"

  • @Thrashgu Why does he walk weirdly in this film?

  • @assasincomedy because this is a weird film

  • @Thrashgu Did he walk like that in real life?

  • Anglo saxons cupribus apertis

  • 1741 Cartagena de Indias, Colombia

    Lord Haw Haw

  • SO Great! Christians we are the Best!

  • names king philip II to philippines...

  • Long live his most Catholic Majesty, Philip II!

-P.S. Philip had blond hair. I hate this depiction of him in general!

  • Comment removed

  • In this film the spaniards were the evil and english were the good ones.

  • @sucubusa thats how it always is the english and americans are always the good guys. spain the the evil one, the arabs are the evil ones, the russians are the evil ones, the communist are all evil.

"As soon as men decide that all means are permitted to fight an evil, then their good becomes indistinguishable from the evil that they set out to destroy."

    --Christopher Dawson

  • Felipe segundo era castaño claro, ¿no es cierto?

  • trying to insult us they just describe themselves CAPULLOS

  • Typical pompous and jingoistic English garbage. It looks like the old Monty Python sketch and it's about as historically accurate. Yeah right, the King Philip II had a gazillion cardinals following him around everywhere and organized nazi style rallies in front of his palace LOL!!.

  • @oliaiguambfigues76 Are you insinuating that Monty Python is not 100% historically accurate?

  • This is the greatest piece of shit by the English.

    Viva España, mother fuckers.

    Of course, I love London.

  • SPANIARDS !!!! awesome!!!! : D

  • Thanks for your comments! :D Great J. H. Eliott.

  • spanish language are the same language of the philippines! wow.

  • Joder...

  • This movie gives such a bad and false impression of King Philip

  • @iSteven00 Not to mention his daughter, who, as well as being about half the age she should be, is portrayed with her eyes as a would be powermonger and unfathomably walks around with a doll of Elizabeth looking as though she is about to satb it as if it was a voodoo doll !

  • hahahaha wtf video

  • good video, well done!

  • You are an ignorant fool. The inquistion didn´t killed as many as they tortured (they seldom killed). And the inqustion was present in every european country whom devoted to christianity.

Second of all, Spain werent symphatising with Nazis in ww2. They were officially "neutral" and also holding back Germany from taking Gibraltar (in doing so, saving your red asses from a potential disaster). Not that i think your anglophone outlook has made the world a better place.

  • The indian author who made this should hang in his kidneys. Now, thanks to the british victory, we are living under a jewish hegemony that will suck the world dry.

  • If you want to see a great performance of Philip II of Spain, search for the TV movie "La princesa de Eboli"

  • @Thrashgu Or the Escorial Conspiracy. The Princess of Eboli is not perfect either, it annoys me how goodie she and Perez are. The Philip of the Escorial Conspiracy is more accurate even though the film also commits some historical mistakes, the historical portrays are more accurate.

  • jordi morro who plays philip in this is a brilliant actor, loved his role, fictitious or not.

  • jordi morro who plays philip, brilliant actor, loved his role, fictitious or not. I however, am british, and i can in all honesty say as this was most likely the moment the balance of power in europe changed, it was the sole reason the british empire came to pass. it deserves a little hollywood hype.

  • As a history major, I liked this movie. The guy who portrays Philip is a very good actor and as far as I'm concerned it's always great to see Cate Blanchett..now about History: it's absurd. It does not have to do with Catholics or protestants, it's just absurd. Phillip of Spain was not a catholic fanatic, he did not think he was the left hand of God, he did not attack England for religious motives. continues...

  • @DaniMajor Just look at how Spanish cenaries are portrayed in this movie: completely dark while England's is all brighthness. I'm not british but I admire Britain, I like England. I do not however, turn a black eye to everything they did, in this case Elizabeth's doings, she was no saint, and her role in history has been manipulated for years for Hollywood and biased historians. Those who really know History should know that there are no heroes

  • im sure if chuck norris was there

    spain would have won. =)

  • spaniards are villans in this movie! so pathetic!

  • no need at all to count up anything like that- see the fact of who had the largest empire in human history ever that could not even be beaten till now with high technology- spanish bravery made that possible. how many people all around the world now have spanish motherlanguage? twice as much as english. why are u mention great britain in this case? england was never anything and will never be as well.uk has been the toiletpaper that drowns with our dump sticking at it thats fact. que viva espana

  • if he win that fucking war against england probably spanish would be the first global language...catholicism would win...and the history would be writen in spanish not in english cause the history is writen by the winners....unfortunatly this is not happen! and now the anglo-saxons let the jews rule and control great part of society....this is sad...

  • @legionarymaximiliano you are right, now jews rules the world...but we will resist

  • 2:20 LOL

  • "Zorra"

  • @016329 You must know the number of irish killed during elizabeth reign and the spanish victories over england in this war for to affirm it.

    sorry for my english

  • @016329 man, you english may see philip II as a tyrant and a fanatic, but we spaniards admire what he tried to achieve and the vision he had, he wanted to unify the world into a unique religion and unite all catholic and european countries against the thread otomans represented. He did what was best for catholic religion and not for Spain, remember this. While Elithabeth did what was best for England and bad for Spain and ultimately Europe. Better not tell you what we think of Elithabeth.

  • @darkiddd But that's exactly why we English like her so much! She took England from being a small irrelevant backwater at the edge of Europe to being the country that ousted Spain and formed the biggest empire in history! She is the reason that we are speaking English with each other today and not Spanish, which would probably have been today's global language if it hadn't been for Elizabeth.

  • @016329 But she wasn´t a good but a lucky queen,if it wasn´t for the weather England had been part of the Spanish empire coz this queen endangered her country and people and led them to a war that destroyed the english finances, that´s why they lost the war in the end. While the Ottoman empire threatened Europe, she established cover agreements with the Turks.Philip saved Europe from Islam and stopped the muslim menace and the muslims were stopped, but the brits on the contrary supported them.

  • This film was based on the first armada in 1588 (which was a epic FAIL) but the Spanish tried it again 1592 and FAILED again in 1597 same result FAILED then again in 1598 once again FAILED.by this time and after though we was giving the Spanish some good going over's beating up them for fun but they declined as a super power so they couldn't put up a good fight in the end.So as tradition when went back to beating up the French

  • @1stLordtheAdmiralty Spain tried it 3 times and had money to afford it but the ships were forced to return to port bc the weather, and the first armada was not so epic fail if 1 year later destroyed the english army along with the english finances, that´s why the english lost the war in the end and they signed the treaty of London wich was very favorable to Spain

  • @yosyesyo You declined as a super power it was the beginning of the end for spain and we was on our way to ruling the WORLD the biggest empire EVER

  • @1stLordtheAdmiralty HA, afraid not, Spain was still the most powerful empire in the world, the anglo-spanish wars were a success for Spain ( Treaty of London), another wars, like dutch independence or 30 years war, weren´t so France turned into the main European power, though not the global power and England turned an empire after Napoleon wars, which destroyed Europe and especially Spain,NOT before.Britain never was the biggest empire ever, only brits think so.

  • @yosyesyo Ha we had the biggest empire in the history of man 1/4 of the earths surface the sun never set on the british empire it was that big. Also go to my channel for a history lesson. We use to give spain a good hiding all the time we even own land on there turf gilralter LOL

  • @1stLordtheAdmiralty LOL u can have Africa or Antarctica to make up the biggest empire of the world. We got our empire fighting against most of other super powers at the same time, England,France, dutch rebelds,Ottoman Empire,etc..We were the first global power. You only conquered uninhabited territories or almost uninhabited fighting with the most advanced technology against 3rd world countries and with the help of plenty of allies. You only got our leftovers LOL

  • She was a devote Christian and rightful heir to the throne. The only thing that was evil was that little gutter rat king from Spain and the fake Christian Catholics the whore of babylon
